POWER TRAIN
While driving as I increased speed it seems that the trans would slip. Also several times it actually lost power for a second before regaining composure. But today all this occurred and when I came to a traffic light , suddenly the car shutdown. I was able to turn it back on again, but I believe these occurrences are happening with regard to a recall regarding the transmission pump. One that I never received info about in 2016. If I had I probably wouldn't be reporting this.

SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
As I was braking to enter the on-ramp of Hwy 1923 from Asheville, I noticed for the second time, my brakes were not slowing me down as usual, instead, they acted as if they were slowly grabbing. As I speed up to the correct speed limit, It seemed as though my brakes started to grab again without me depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle made a throbbing, and vibrating sound. All this after just having taken the vehicle to my mechanic for the same problem two days prior. The back brakes were replaced, the front brakes looked fine, and everything was checked out. Two days later brakes started acting up again, not working normally and acting as if thay are grabbing and vibrating the vehicle! No warning lights were shown. Next step is the Dodge Dealer. Another very aggravating glitch that the Dodge Dealer said that didn see, is the fact that every time I park the vehicle, I have to turn the sterring wheel a certain way before the battery will shut off, if not the battery will be drained!

Vehicle owner was driving and pulled over when all warning lights began flashing, wipers came on, horn started honking, windows would not go down, doors would not unlock, and vehicle started on fire. Fire appeared to begin in the engine compartment, with fire eventually consuming entire vehicle.

The contact owns a 2018 Dodge Journey. The contact received notification of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V723000 (Exterior Lighting) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The local dealer was notified of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

With less than 29000 miles the backup camera has failed. While trying to back up and use rear view mirror it’s almost impossible to see what’s behind the vehicle. Dodge says this vehicle is out of warranty because of over 36 months. What’s it take 10-12 kids to be backed over in-order to issue recalls. There’s numerous others complaining about this. The contact’s son owns a 2014 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The contact then stated that on numerous occasions after the vehicle stalled, the vehicle needed to be jumpstarted each time after turning off the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that he was unable to turn off the headlamps and the key fob failed to operate as needed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that water prevented the fuel from entering the fuel pump and the fuel injector and an unknown engine component needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that all the recalls were previously performed, and no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 110,400.

As I was driving, I began to park. I put my foot on the brake and proceeded to put car in reverse. The back up camera began to flash. Once it stopped flashing, the image on the screen was upside down. It’s is available for inspection. This is a safety hazard. The purpose of the camera is so that people can see what’s behind them. If the Camry isn’t functioning properly it’s can cause accidents. No warning. The camera just randomly did this. And since then the camera has been upside down. I have never had this issue before. I cut the car off for days at a time and the issue will not go away. I googled the issue and a lot of people with Dodge automobiles have had similar issues.

When backing up, with the sun at the rear, the camera goes to a over exposed or washed out screen. There is no picture and this makes the backup camera worthless and dangerous. Happens every time in reverse with the sun at the rear of the vehicle.
