Transmission seal failure caused fluid to leak, transfer case had metal present and had to be flushed, multiple electrical issues where there was no sound and buttons on back left of steering wheel wouldn't function, vehicle put itself in neutral when passing and gave a conditions not favorable for shift change when I tried to put it in park. Eventually put itself in park and I was able to get home. Dash went black, ticking sounds quickly escalated to the motor blowing thankfully close to a dealership on 1/2/2025. Still awaiting a timeframe or information on what will happen. Unable to attach video

We were driving our truck with our family on vacation. We were going slowly entering the parking lot to our hotel when a sudden loud grinding noise caused our truck to shudder and shake. We stopped and got out and didn’t see that we ran over anything. We started to proceed and the sound was the same. We parked in a stall and left the vehicle overnight. No check engine lights were on. No warnings at all. It was Memorial Day weekend 2023. There were no dealerships open where we were vacationing, 3 hours from home. Very inconvenient. Later when the dealer looked at it, the thrust bearing was bad and the engine was shot. Needed a full replacement at 10,600 miles.

My truck is equipped with the chevrolet 6.2 engine. I was driving on interstate when I got a reading on the dash that the engine was shutting down due to the engine oil overheating. I did get to the berm safely without being hit by another car. Normally wouldn't think that the engine blowing up would be safety related but it happened in traffic.

The car pulls to the left while driving. The steering wheel turned to the left when I stopped. I have taken it to the dealer three times but the problem is not resolved.

[XXX] I was heading home from work, driving on [XXX] near [XXX] 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 broke down. I lost all power in my vehicle, besides brakes and steering, and had to coast into the breakdown lane. After restarting my truck, I was able to drive another mile on the highway until I lost all power again on the off-ramp. My truck was broke down, halfway in the road, and I could not start it back up to try and move it. I remained there in the subfreezing temperatures with no heat in my truck for over 1.5 hours waiting for a tow through OnStar that never showed. A state trooper eventually pulled behind me because I was blocking traffic and then proceeded to call a different tow company which arrived about 15 minutes after he called. Since that day, my truck has been at Colonial Chevrolet in New london CT waiting for a “nationally backordered” 6.2L engine. 53 days without my truck that I use for me and my business partner’s construction company, and no ETA for when the new engine will be arriving. At 4K miles, the lifters of the engine went bad. It was determined a rod was bent and had to be replaced. At 26K miles, another cylinder went bad and had to be replaced. At 40Kmiles, serpentine belt had to be replaced. At 41K miles, another cylinder went bad and had to be replaced. Now, at 55K miles, I am getting the same issues with loss of power, engines stuttering and misfiring and will be taking the truck to the dealer on 1/28/25.

I was pulling into my neighborhood when my engine started rapidly thumping the higher the rpm’s got. I was able to get it to my local Chevrolet dealership. Flaherty Chevrolet in Brandenburg, Ky. They told me it had catastrophic engine failure. I’m currently waiting for a new engine replacement. They’re trying to find a new one, but are having no luck.

While driving under normal conditions the 6.2 liter engine in my truck locked down. I was traveling at 70mph in Interstate traffic at night and the vehicle shifted into neutral on its own and had no power. The truck then prompted me to press the start button. Unbeknownst to me at this point the engine had seized up with no warning so I pushed the button which promptly killed all my electronics, lights, etc. Thankfully I was able to "bully" my way towards the shoulder in traffic and roll off the road before I completely lost momentum. The truck would not restart on the shoulder. Towed it to my own shop where we determined the engine had seized. The truck has since been taken to the dealership for warranty work. The truck has 40,000 miles on it at the time of failure with no prior signs of issues. I have been a driver for 24 years, driving class V trucks daily for most of that. I don't know if the average driver would have avoided the potential collisions trying to get off the road with no power that I frankly feel I was lucky to do.

When Driving my 2024 Chevy Silverado with 24,600 Miles on it this morning, i was on the New York State Thruway going highways speed (70MPH) when the truck Lost Power, and Shut completely off, I had a tractor trailer behind me and lucky my pick up truck was able to coast over the white line, if i would have been able to coast over the white line i would have been in a major accident. I attempted to start the truck up again and the truck would not turn over, i had sat there for about 25/30 Min trying to get the truck started and finally the truck turned over and i was able to continue on to work, While driving the truck had absolutely no power and the truck was sitting around 3K RPMs when going 66mph, the truck was hard shifting into gears as well. I arrived at work and i got to a parking space and all the sudden the truck shut off and wouldn't not start back up. Upon arriving to work i rolled down my window and heard a long banging noise coming from the engine Aswell as a whining noise. I attempted to start the truck up and you hit the start button the truck just keeps whining and never starts up. I was able to contact GM Roadside and have a tow truck come and pick the truck up and bring it back to the dealer. Im awaiting the dealer to contact me. Overall, i could have been in serious car accident for because the engine just shut off on the highway, this happened with no warning or anything, the check engine light was NOT on before this happened.

While driving at 55-60 mph on Saturday, [XXX], the vehicle made a distinct engine sound and lost power, but continued to run with a pronounced misfire, and a ‘check engine’ light came on. Our safety was put at risk because we were merging into high speed traffic and I had to abruptly slow and move as far out of the travel lane as possible. I had the vehicle towed to Champion Chevrolet in Reno on Wednesday October 16 for evaluation. The mileage in was 44,252. I was told that the camshaft and some lifters had failed, and I opted to have the engine replaced with a remanufactured unit at the total cost to me of $14,660. I picked the vehicle up on 10/28/2024 with 44,259 odometer miles. I have since learned on the internet that this particular ‘Active Fuel Management (AFM)’ failure is known to Chevrolet corporate office and is the subject of a class action lawsuit against Chevrolet. I have also learned that there is the possibility of repayment to affected owners in early 2025. I am submitting this letter to bring my situation to your attention so that I am included in any list of owners that may be reimbursed as a result of this known engine issue. I was driving on the interstate when the power steering failed. I was on a straightaway so I was able to force the vehicle to the side of road and have it towed. If I was in a corner, I would have crashed. It was repaired at Chevrolet Dealership.

Vehicle fails to determine if either passenger or driver rear doors are open. The vehicle is missing some functionality where the door can be opened and vehicle can be driven. My child can open the door and there will be no warning about the door being open. The interior lights do not come on when any of rear doors are open.

Repeated shift to park message even when in park. Resulting in many hours of shutting off and on, shifting between gears to get it to recognize it is in park. Dealership where purchased is trying to convince me it's a $700 fix with no recall. It is a known GM problem. This blatant disregard for proper repairs is costing GM customers thousands in additional repair for their gross negligence as well as endangering the safety of its customers. It additionally results in draining the battery, starter and transmission problems. GM needs to be held accountable since they know it is an issue.

While attempting to merge onto the freeway from the "on ramp," the acceleration began to dissipate. I noticed the truck had shifted itself into neutral. I then had to put my emergency lights on and coast as long as I could. There was not a check engine light. The vehicle also would not restart. It was then towed to a Chevrolet dealership and the recommendation was to replace the engine. They had notified me that this was a common issue with this engine and they see this all the time. There were four trucks ahead of me at this dealership alone. The story was the same and neighboring dealerships. At the time, they were not able to estimate the time for repair to be complete. This was a safety risk since there were cars behind me and the vehicle lost power. This could have resulted in an accident and caused injury to myself or others. There is also risk being stranded on the shoulder of a major freeway awaiting a tow truck.
