ENGINE
Engine The engine shut off at 70mph with no warning and I lost complete power. I had a tractor trailer behind me and one on my left side no power I was nearly killed . Rotolo Chevolet replaced the 6.2L V8 engine Vehicle was inspected by Rotolo Chevolet and they said it was engine failure There was no warning that the Escalade would just shut off at a high rate of speed. It completely just lost power. I only had 85,000 miles on the Escalade. I had taken it to Rotolo Chevolet because I had all the tires changed. While diagnosing my problems with tires they told me of the engine making noise. I had them change the oil but they said it needed a engine. I had no idea this would happen. Does GM want to rob their customers so badly that they would jeopardize their life for GREED. I think the Escalade cost enough.

Engine blew up on the highway and stranded my wife and 4 kids on a busy highway. Catastrophic engine failure on a brand new vehicle. GM is doing nothing to help with the situation. They said the engine is backordered and it might be months before they have a solution. This was a new 2024 $125k vehicle. GM has been terrible to deal with. They Refused a buyback. Dealership had several 2024 in for blown engines.

Driving with children on freeway after picking them up from school and suddenly the vehicle shut down completely nothing on dash neither. In the middle of freeway after doing 55 miles per hour was very scary for me and my family. Tried starting vehicle and would not start for 15 minutes. The next day took it to the dealer where I purchased it and was told it was 5 vehicles there before me that needed engine replacement and I might be the sixth. I was called the next day and was Told the service man took it for a spin and the engine completely seized on him and to find out it was the engine And other components. There were no warning before any of this happened it seems as if once you accelerate to about 50 to 60 mph it completely shuts down he said. My vehicle is currently at the Jim Riehl Cadillac in Clinton Twp Michigan and waiting for an engine to be replaced with other components I was told. [XXX] was the date of the occurrence and I was told also told they may need to keep my vehicle for 2 - 3 months for the replacement from the GM manufacture. I spoke to individuals at the Cadillac headquarters and everyone seems to act as if this is so brand new and not a huge issue and I’m the one that is paying these hefty monthly car notes on a vehicle that I only owned for 1 year and 6 months with 24,000 miles on it currently. While driving on a major highway and traveling at 80 mph or so, the vehicle flashed a warning light saying “Press Start Again.” I noticed the gas pedal was no longer responding and the RPM gauge dropped to zero. The vehicle shifted itself into neutral and I was forced to steer the truck to a shoulder and scraped the underside of the front ground effect trim. The vehicle then shifted into park and would not start. When a tow operator arrived, the vehicle could not be shifted into neutral to be towed and the electric parking brake kept activating by itself while trying to load and unload the vehicle from the flatbed. The vehicle is now completely immobile and I’m waiting for information from the dealership.

I was driving down the road. I accelerated to the speed limit of 55mph. This was not a quick acceleration. As I reached 55mph, my car seized up. The dash board went out, the engine shut off and I wasn't able to brake. I managed to coast until I came to a stop in the roadway. My car would not turn back on and I was told my engine seized and had to be replaced

On [XXX], while driving my 2022 Cadillac Escalade Premium Sport — which I had just purchased earlier that day — the vehicle suddenly shut down without any warning while I was actively driving on a busy street in Decatur, Georgia. Fortunately, the incident occurred while I was making a turn and traveling at a relatively low speed. I lost all control of the vehicle but was able to coast into the center turn lane and activate the hazard lights to avoid a collision. A police officer arrived on the scene and positioned their vehicle to prevent mine from being struck by oncoming traffic. Although I initially suspected a battery issue, the vehicle still had full electrical power. The officer contacted a towing service, and the vehicle was towed first to my home and later to the Cadillac dealership for evaluation. Today, I was informed by the dealership that the vehicle — which has fewer than 25,000 miles on it — requires a complete engine replacement. I am extremely concerned about the safety implications of this unexpected failure, especially given the low mileage and the fact that the vehicle had just been sold to me. I am submitting this report in hopes that this issue will be thoroughly investigated to prevent similar occurrences for other drivers. I consider myself extremely fortunate to be typing this message today. Given the abrupt and total shutdown of the vehicle, this could have resulted in a very serious accident — or worse. Driving down the main road approaching a light on the brakes. the light turned green and when I went to hit the gas the car died in the middle of the road. Car would not restart. My wife and I purchased a certified used Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum with 36K miles on it from a reputable dealership near our home. After having the vehicle for less than a week, the engine just lost power suddenly and without notice while our entire family (3 kids) were on our way home. We were able to coast off the main highway and onto a crossing road before it glided to a stop in the middle of an intersection. We were able to get the vehicle towed back to the dealership where they are telling us it needs a replacement engine. I am very concerned with how the event unfolded, and it could have been much worse had it happened where we were not able to get off the road. I am happy GM and the dealership are working quickly to replace the engine, but now I have safety concerns and feel like the vehicle has lost some of its value. Even before I could re-title the vehicle or make our first payment on it. I am reading similar stories and am baffled how GM could produce an engine with such a widespread problem, especially when paying significant money for the vehicle.

ENGINE FAILURE Engine failed at 20k on the highway. The vehicle went into neutral and shut off at 75mph. My wife couldn't get it all the way off the highway and multiple cars about crashed into it. A semi truck locked up his brakes and almost t-boned the car with my wife and kids in it. My wife and 4 kids had to exit the vehicle and run through heavy traffic to get to a safe place. The car wouldn't restart and had to be left in the highway. The wrecker couldn't get the vehicle in neutral to get it up on the flatbed. It had to be dragged in park onto the tow truck. The dealership is saying the engine failed and they have 5 in the shop right now for the same thing. They are saying it will be months before they can get it repaired.

Purchased this vehicle brand new ( 3 miles ), just before Christmas 2024, from Bill Cramer Chevrolet in Panama City FL. We just hit the 7200 mile mark and took vehicle in for 1st service with 10% or so remaining on the oil indicator. This is my wife’s vehicle, so I do not drive nor hear it crank in the morning, or come home in afternoons very often. Since the service I noticed yesterday the engine sounding “different” than from initial purchase. Didn’t think much of it, just figured a new gizmo or gadget doing its thing that we weren’t aware of. Well this evening [XXX] I went to move it into the driveway. As soon as the vehicle started I knew instantly something wasn’t right. Had that classic “lifter tap” that eventually quieted down after 30-45 seconds but never fully went away. Previously there was no engine noise when starting, only the rumble of the exhaust and compressor kicking on for air ride. I let the truck go through its cold start/high idle sequence. Once at regular idle 5-700 rpm, I noticed a few sounds coming from the bottom end that really bothered me. I shut the truck off, let it sit for about 20-30 minutes and videoed the start up and noise. I just want to notate this, in case this now becomes the classic GM lifter failure. I will take another video in the morning with the vehicle truly cold start. When accelerating to merge onto highway traffic, engine starting making rattling noise from front left motor and losing power when trying to accelerate.When taken to the dealership stated metal shavings in oil and that we needed a new motor. Dealership would not tear apart motor to see what issue was. Dealership currently had motor. This commonly known defect with gm motors put my family at risk with the loss of power while trying to merge onto highway with cars traveling at highway speeds. There were no warning lights or any check engine lights that came on.

This is the second 2023 Cadillac Escalade sport platinum that we both brand new from the dialer and after the first one after 15K miles the engine blow off so the dialer replace it then we both the second one , brand new after 20k miles same thin the engine quit on as on the free way and its now in the dialer ship for two months now waiting for a new engine.
