3. Wiring Repair: The three wires leading from the sender -G31- will be cut approximately 25 mm after they emerge from the main harness bundle. Repair wires (part number 000 979 056 EC) will then be pinned into a new connector housing (part number 4K0 9737 03A) and cut to 250 mm. A protective cap (part number 4G0 971 921) will be fitted onto the new connector.
4. Connection and Wrapping: The new repair wiring harness will be connected to the main wiring harness using crimps (part number 000 979 940). The repair wires will then be wrapped with felt tape (part number N 106 497 02), starting at the connector and overlapping towards the main harness. Figure 3 illustrates the G31 connector, harness repair, and repair point location. Figure 4 shows the completed repair, detailing the required length of the new wire harness (170 mm from the connector housing to the branch-off point) and how it should emerge 10 mm below the cable tie.
5. Reassembly and Clearing DTCs: After the wiring repair is complete, the vehicle will be reassembled, and all stored diagnostic trouble codes will be cleared from the engine control unit.

For warranty claims, a photo clearly showing the damage on connector T3y, along with the VIN and date, must be uploaded to DOC-IT.
