Software Update Process

1. Airbag EDR Backup: Federal law requires backing up the airbag's Event Data Recorder (EDR) prior to running this update. The customer must sign a declaration of consent, which is then uploaded to DOC-IT.
2. Diagnostic Test: Run the ODIS test program "J234 - Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 2061023" via "Choose self-test" >> 0015 - Airbag - J234 >> 0015 - Technical Service Bulletin (TSB). The diagnostic session results must be uploaded to GFF Paperless.
3. Peripheral Control Module Update: Update the peripheral control modules using SVM code FASISKD5A001. This process takes between 20-30 minutes.

5. zFAS Application Software Update: Update the zFAS application software using SVM Code FASISKD5A002. This step also takes about 30 minutes.

Post-Update Procedures

After the software update, the vehicle must perform a bus sleep cycle:

1. Exit the flash context.
2. Switch the vehicle ignition off.
3. Remove the battery charger and diagnostic interface dongle from the vehicle.
4. Close the hood, trunk, and all doors, then lock the vehicle.
5. Wait approximately six minutes without handling the vehicle.
