On Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, while my wife and daughter were driving in downtown [XXX] , the front passenger door spontaneously opened at [XXX] while the vehicle was in motion. This occurred despite the door being properly closed and latched. Fortunately, my daughter was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured, but this incident created a terrifying and life-threatening situation. Due to the dealerships being closed, I was forced to secure the door with ties to safely transport my family back to [XXX] . On April 7th, 2026, I dropped the car off at the dealer for repair of the safety recall. Most concerning is that my vehicle was in the care of the Richfield Land Rover dealership in March 19th, 2025 for several days for an engine oil leak repair totaling $6,718. At no point during this multi-day service was I notified of the open safety recall, nor was the remedy performed. When I confronted the service department today (April 7, 2026), I was told their "computer must have been down."
