Summary2025-2026 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with power running boards do not deploy the running boards in auto mode when the easy entry/exit setting for "Approach Detection" is toggled on. This is a change from prior models. Currently, easy entry/exit settings in the vehicle's center display screen incorrectly indicates that power running boards will deploy during approach detection in auto mode. This will be corrected in a future Digital Experience over-the-air (OTA) update which will begin deploying in mid Q3, 2026. The Workshop Manual (WSM) and Owner's Manual have been corrected to explain proper operation of power running boards.

Advise the customers that driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM) software updates are currently being delivered to vehicles over-the-air (OTA), which are expected to resolve these symptoms. It is important to advise the customer to select the automatic updates option in the settings menu to enable automatic updates and/or approve prompts to download or install updates if automatic updates are purposely disabled. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information.
