SummaryTSB: REVISION NOTICE October 11, 2017 Rev2: ? The Required Tools & Equipment section has been updated to include a NEW USB drive map update. SUPERSESSION NOTICE The information contained in this bulletin supersedes SB No. T-SB-0006-13. Toyota models equipped with the Premium HDD Navigation (AVN/AW-EMV) system will periodically require an update to the Gracenote® database. Gracenote® includes detailed information for songs (genre, artist, song title, album name, etc.). The Gracenote® update will be included on the USB Drive Navigation Map Update SST. A Gracenote® update MUST be performed BEFORE a Navigation Map update. A Navigation Map update is NOT required to complete the Gracenote® update.

SummaryTSB: REVISION NOTICE August 31, 2017 Rev1: ? Applicability has been updated to include 2015 model year RAV4 vehicles. ? Production Change Information has been added. ? The Parts Information section has been updated. Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded. Some 2013 ? 2015 model year RAV4 vehicles may exhibit a brief shudder intermittently while driving under light loads between approximately 25 and 50 mph. The torque converter and Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) logic have been modified to reduce the possibility of this condition from occurring. Follow the Repair Procedure below to address this condition.

Service Bulletin No. T-SB-0168-13 is obsolete and any printed versions should be discarded. Be sure to review the entire content of this bulletin before proceeding. Some 2013 ? 2017 model year RAV4 and 2016 ? 2017 model year RAV4 HV vehicles may exhibit a condition in which the LH or RH power back door actuator (power back door unit assembly set) separates from the ball mount bracket (back door damper stay bracket) on the hatch or body side. Additionally, wiring on the actuator may be damaged, causing the power back door to become inoperative with DTCs B2226, B2227, B2228, or B2229 present.

Some hazardous material treatment and handling regulations at the state and local level define the pre-disposal deployment of airbag and pre-tensioner assemblies as hazardous material treatment. Hazardous material treatment may require special training, certification or licensing in certain areas. TMS recommends that dealership personnel carefully review and follow ALL local and state regulations, and where necessary, contract with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Licensed Hazardous Waste Transportation and Disposal facilities.
