I was driving up a steep driveway inside a parking garage. While turning a corner, the accelerator pedal began pulling away from my foot, and the car started speeding up on its own. I managed to apply the brake to stop the vehicle. I checked to see if there was anything near the pedal, like a mat, but there wasn’t. No indicator lights were on. This is the first time the car has exhibited this issue. The vehicle has not yet been inspected but is available for inspection.

[xxx] my husband and I hit a deer. The airbags did not deploy. My husband has been seen at and getting treatment from Scott and White in Temple Texas both inpatient and outpatient. He has a spinal cord injury from the wreck. Our car is surely totalled. . . My husband has used all of his acquired sick time, as well as vacation time. Also, we were just notified today (December 17, 2024) from his job, Tractor Supply, that HR requested my husband to take a leave of absence. My husband does not have health insurance. Everything is put of pocket expense wise. . . We did not and have not received any safety recalls by mail nor by email. If we had been notified, I would have taken our vehicle to be properly inspected prior to the accident. . . My husband, [XXX] , has been seriously injured. Our vehicle is a Toyota Camry 2022, VIN # [XXX] When we purchased our vehicle, it was brand new, fresh off the lot. Excessive engine oil consumption. Penske Toyota of Downey would Not fix my car when I took it in. I received a letter from Corporate Toyota. I also received a letter on the sticky dash board. They replaced the dash board but, they would Not fixed my engine problem. I took their word for it and now I have to check my oil often and keep oil in my trunk. I never get an oil warning light. I just have to make sure by checking it often. Penske refused to fix my car, they told me it was normal for my car to lose oil. I was made aware of both problems back to back by Corporate Toyota but Penske said no. No problem here according to them. So… the problem just got worst and worst over time.

- #11630654December 13, 2024AIR BAGS, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The sunroofs have a drain which sometimes can plug up. This car was maintained several times a year since purchase by Toyota dealer. When the drain plugged up this fall, water backed up and came down inside of the passenger compartment on top of the electrical fuses, body computer. The leak IS NOT DETECTABLE by owner or occupant. But when it manifests itself, it does so with the Blind Spot Monitor failing randomly, the seat belt warning lights might or might not work, the airbag safety system fails, sometimes the whole instrument dash acts erractic including random on/off blinking, the tire pressure monitoring system fails. All these problems can occur before owner is ever aware of the problem. Since one of the items that is getting corrosion is a fuse block - potential fire while parked in a garage or while being drive is a possibility. In an accident failure of air bags can result in a fatality. I'm an engineer, so when things started blinking on dash - I took pictures or had another occupant take pictures. I showed them to the dealer service - they didn't make the connection with corrosion on the body computer that monitors and manages all the systems including the anti-lock and rollover system. It's in for repair at dealer now, now idea on the cost - but they've said damage is extensive AND we caught it before most people encounter it. I checked and could find no Toyota Service Bulletin that warned to look for the problem, repair techs had vehicle for week trying to find problem - and it took me insisting on looking for corrosion before they found it. This should result in: 1)Toyota special service bulletin to inspect every year and verify sunroof drain not blocked. 2) read diagnostics codes of the body network computer for issues, 3)Toyota special service recall to repair damage free to customers.

Vehicle has a complete transmission failure at 67,000 miles. Purchased 10 of 2018 with 5 year/ 60k drive train warranty. Vehicle has been correctly maintained since purchased. No maintenance or fluid change required by manufacture. Car would hesitate/ buck and made strange noise from transmission. Took it to be inspected at our mechanical the next day . Shop pulled codes from the car and then referred us to a transmission shop. They reported the fluid was burned and transmission needed to be replaced. Vehicle is not drive able at this point. Purchase dealership said to bring the vehicle in for diagnosis, but it would not be covered as it is out of the drive train warranty by a year and 7000 miles. No TSB's or recalls from Toyota at this time. Transmission shop reported that Toyota has a problem with these 8 speed transmissions and they are on national back order. Vehicle has been out of service for 3 weeks with no ETA on the transmission assembly from Toyota as of today. Total repair estimate is over $6000.00 and rental has accrued over $1500.00 in fees as of today.

Brake malfunction on my 2018 Toyota Camry and steering wheel malfunctioned causing my vehicles to spend on the freeway hitting a barrel and landing the car into a ditch. The car is not available for inspection it’s still at the tow yard. The safety was at risk for me as the driver was tremendously overwhelming and fearful. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by anyone. There hasn’t been any inspection to the vehicle that I know of. Yes there was warning sign; power steering malfunction, secondary collision brake system malfunction, antilock brake system malfunction, ICS malfunction, pre collision system malfunction. They first appeared 12-01-2024.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System - light flashes on-off and then remains illuminated. Toyota dealer wants $1,200 to replace all sensors. I do not have the ability to pay this. Dealer suggests that I just ignore or cover up. This system is a safety system as marketed by the manufacturer. I feel uncomfortable driving over mountainous routes without it. My tire dealer tells me that this is a constant problem with Toyota's.

The Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert systems went out on my new vehicle at about 3500 miles. There are warnings for both that come up on my dashboard. I brought my vehicle in for its 5000 mile check-up and asked Toyota to check into it. Their tech said the outage was caused by the vehicle being in a collision and they were going to charge me to repair the safety systems. The thing is that this vehicle has not been in a collision. I believe it was a faulty installation of the systems. I am not going to pay for something not caused by me when the vehicle is new and under full warranty. I am making this complaint so that maybe there are other vehicles with the same issue and we can get repairs covered by Toyota under a recall.
