SERVICE BRAKES, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
While driving, the "service electronic brakes " and traction control light will come on periodically, then go away. The issue is random and not consistent or easy to predict. If the cruise control is active, the cruise control will disengage and the truck will start to slow down. The brakes seem to work the same even if the light is on or off.

The known issue that Ram refuses to is plaguing my truck. ABS and Traction Control lights come on. This shuts off the cruise control as well as makes braking difficult. It is very dangerous. This is a ticking time bomb. Vehicle has under 50k miles on it. 2017 and 2018 have been known to have faulty ECU Module and HCU. Loss of brakes momentarily occurred on [XXX]. I am having the issues under investigation. The dealer and manufacture have not been able to fix emissions issue. It has cause severe fuel saturation in oil and has cause severe motor damage. No one cares and they brush it off as no big deal.

ABS brake module fails and the vehicle looses its ABS braking capability. Other functions are affected as well, anti skid and cruise control. Major safety issue! This vehicle is now in need of 3rd module in under 100,000 miles. This is unacceptable Stellantis/Chysler Corporation has full knowledge of this component weakness and has not improved or recalled this part. Thank you

POWER TRAIN
My trucks transmission experienced a complete failure, it is currently at the dealership awaiting parts and repair The failure renders the truck without any forward power almost immediately with only reverse left functioning, we were fortunate that it broke down in a residential neighborhood and not the freeway. The truck was towed to the local dealership, they tore down the transmission and confirmed a K1 snap ring failure and that it would be covered under wtty. I got a malfunction indicator light a few days prior then a message on the dash "4 wheel drive system temporarily unavailable" about 10 miles before complete failure. CSN 71A appears to have been issued and sent to some truck owners to advise snap ring replacement as a preventative measure, however my truck was not included in the CSN campaign, not sure why

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL
The contact owns a 2017 Ram 3500. The contact stated while the vehicle was undergoing DOT inspection, the DOT inspector advised the contact to shift in neutral (N), and to activate and squeeze the brake controller manually. The contact was then advised to shift into drive (D) and to release the brake pedal while squeezing the brake controller. The contact stated that upon following the instructions, the vehicle moved forward. The DOT inspector determined that the brake controller was malfunctioning because the trailer brakes failed to prevent vehicle movement when manually activated. The contact stated that the company's mechanic replaced the 7-way pins, the 7-way pin trailer cable, the 7-way pin wiring harness box, and module, the brake controller assembly, the wiring on the front and rear axles, the brake assemblies; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that when the brake controller was set at the max 10, the brake wire connector displayed 6.5 Volts, while the voltage should be 13.2 Volts. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 162,388.

Abs and traction control continues to fail. I bought all new sensors. Then replaced abs module and pump and lights went away, after a year they all came back on and it's a repeat process.

SERVICE BRAKES
The alarm light and bell goes off. The 'Service Antilock Brake System' and 'Service Electronic Braking System' lights flash. This occurs intermittently while pulling a 5th wheel camper. The brakes work @ 30-40% strength. This is a safety issue. We thought it was an issue with the campers breaks, however, after connecting it to another trailer, the same thing happened. We had to take it to the dealership with a trailer to get it to repeat issue so that they could determine what the issue was. The Dealership ran a Diagnosis on the truck and the DTC, Diagnosis Trouble Code was C0020-01 ABS Pump General Failure. The dealership recommended replacing the HCU, Hydraulic Control Unit. They did not have the part and said it was on backorder. The unit costs $830.49. This doesn't include labor.

1, The Aisin AS68RC transmission failed. The dealership had to ship the defective complete back to Aisin . 2. On [XXX] with only 2,886K miles while on Interstate [XXX] in Boston Massachusetts . I just entered the highway and was getting into the middle lane getting up to high way speed. The Tachometer shot up in rpm’s and there was no more forward gear. I was doing about 50-60mph. I had to cost from the middle lane to the brake down lane with my 20’ trailer in tow in heavy traffic. Once in the brake down lane I was able to go in reverse but couldn’t go forward. Loud clunking when put into gear and trying to move forward. 3. The vehicle was towed to the dealership from [XXX] that night to Herb Chambers Millbury Ram and confirmed transmission failure. 4. Aisin sent a complete transmission assembly to the dealership for installation. So the dealership inspected it. 4. There were NO warning lights before transmission failure. I did notice the truck felt Rough over 40 mph before transmission failure since I picked it up brand new from the dealer. Absolutely NO warning light/ indicator prior to Transmission failure!!!! Concerned that my truck may be affected by the Aisin K1 snap ring failure problem currently being investigated by NHTSA. I have no way of knowing whether or not my transmission is reliable long term, nor can I prove to a future buyer that it is safe and reliable. Not only does this issue affect my trust in using the truck, but it also has a significant negative impact on the resale value of the truck. Buyers are aware that 2022 Aisin trucks have issues and this makes the vehicle harder to sell.

I purchased a 2017 RAM 3500 in 2018 brand new, directly from a dealer. Within the first week of ownership, truck started alerting me that there is an issue with the automatic brakes and to service the vehicle. I took the truck to my local dealer in October 2018. They confirmed issue was with the ABS system. I was told to take a rental car because it would take some time to get the parts and I wouldn’t be allowed to take my truck because it wouldn’t be safe to drive. The parts came in after some time and the truck was repaired. Almost 24 months later (September 2020), the same ABS alerts began presenting itself. The dealer confirmed that the issue was again the ABS system and I was provided with a rental car until the part was replaced. Again, 24 months later (October 2022), the ABS alerts began to persistently display and make a chime many times over and over while driving. The dealer once again confirmed the ABS was at fault and ordered parts. I was told there were no parts available and to expect several months before the truck could be serviced. This time, the dealer would not provide a rental because the truck was not considered under warranty. Six months passed (March 2023) and the dealer called to report that a part had arrived and to bring the truck for service. The dealer later called and said when the box was opened, the part appeared damaged and could not be used and to wait for another part. I waited another 5 months (August 2023) to call the dealer and ask if any parts would be coming soon. I was told that engineers at RAM recalled all the parts and none are available. I went to the dealer and received a refund for the prepaid part. My truck has had no working ABS system since October 2022. The ABS is always on 100% of the time. This is a safety issue which devalues my vehicle, if I were to try to sell it. It also poses a danger whenever I need to use it. If parts do ever become available, I do not feel I should have to pay $1,000 for the repair.

SERVICE BRAKES
Originally had a warning light show on the dash that said electronic brake system failure and an ABS warning light. Spent over $800 to have this problem repaired and in less than a year the part failed again and same problem occurred. However, his time due to price increases the repair will cost over $1200. When this happens you lose your ABS brakes as well as the ability to operate the cruise control. This is a known safety issue with thousands of trucks affected and Ram refuses to address the problem other than to charge the consumer to replace a part which will knowingly fail again. Even worse, according to my dealer the part isn’t currently available and their recommendation is to not drive the truck until the problem is fixed because the ABS brake failure is a huge risk/liability. I would really appreciate you looking into this matter and please contact me with any help/info that you may have.

Driving south on [XXX] just south of Greenville, SC. With no warning the truck wouldn't go, upon quickly diagnosing I determined I had no transmission. Luckily was able to make it to the emergency lane and come to a safe stop. Also was pulling a fifth wheel camper at the time.
