The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, he attempted to change from the left lane to the right however, the steering wheel did not respond. The contact applied more force to the right and the steering turned in the opposite direction. The contact stated that a red steering wheel warning light was illuminated. The contact stopped in the middle of the roadway due to the loss of steering functionality. The contact had the vehicle towed to his residence. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. Lost power steering- got it back. Had some warnings lights come up then went away. Power steering went on and off while driving. Dealer working on repair said it’s not warrantied. $4500 repair. Dealer claims electrical connection to power steering rack failed from corrosion. How can a sealed connection corrode. Need help.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 2 MPH and coming to a stop at a traffic sign, he heard a loud scraping noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact pulled over and observed that the fuel tank was sagging and a support strap was detached. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the supports where the fuel tank straps were attached had rusted completely and the fuel tank had become loosened. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

This truck has electric power steering, which happens to stiff up when driving sometimes. it can go with days not happening then come back, I restart the truck and everything seems to work fine until you start to drive for a short distance. I checked my u clamps ball joints ect.. all looks great, only thing left is the power steering motor.

This is where check engine warnings come on for my truck, and I don’t know when the truck is dinging, if there is something serious going on, or I just need an oil change. The dealer I went to said they don’t have new or used screens to replace mine with, so I feel very stuck.

STEERING
The Electronic Power Steering "Service Power Steering" warning light has come on my 2015 Dodge Ram Big Horn and the electronic power steering is not functioning creating a safety hazard. I am the original purchaser of the vehicle. The vehicle has 29,379 original miles. The vehicle was assembled in February of 2015. Numerous vehicles were recalled (recall S19) that were manufactured between January and September 2015 due to a contaminated circuit board. I contacted the dealer where I purchased the vehicle (Jeff D'Ambrosio Dodge Chrysler, Downingtown, PA) and I was told that my vehicle was not included in the recall and that my warranty has expired. I will be contacting FIAT Chrysler Monday morning. I feel as though this is a major safety hazard similar to the recall and with the low mileage on the vehicle the manufactured should replace the unit FREE OF CHARGE. Dealer would not order the parts until consumer paid for them up front. Upon paying $2,327.75 for the part consumer was then informed that the parts were not available due to a nationwide shortage and they don’t know when they will receive them.

Without suspension any little bump in the road is causing the back end of my vehicle to jump around sending me into other lanes. Purchased truck with 4WD last November. Live in a snowy ice region. Truck randomly displays 4WD serv light and error message. Until the error clears itself, truck will not go into 4WD (four wheel drive), making it an unreliable vehicle during snow and ice storms, when traveling over the mountains, or when on dirt or sand roads. Additionally, this error can impact ABS functionality in some cases. Dealership has seen the truck four times, but has not fixed the issue. Now that the weather is warmer, the error is happening near daily.

As I was driving to work I noticed a noise coming from under / middle of the truck. Once parked I looked underneath and realized my front fuel tank strap had rusted off and my tank was hanging low and held by only the rear strap.
