ABS control module is out with under 50k miles on it. Dealers in the area mention it's a common issue with this model and shared that the 2500 models have the same issue and had a recall issued.

High pressure fuel pump failed causing a fuel system failure. The truck would not start and was towed to dealership. The dealership will not repair the recall since they will only use Mopar parts and none are available in the US.Other brand parts are available but they refuse to use them.

- #11665434June 6, 2025SEAT BELTS
My [XXX] [XXX] son was sitting in the middle back seat after a soccer game. We were in drive thru for dinner and he leaned over and the seat belt with anchor and clip was still attached to the rest of seat belt. The clip and anchor part literally separated from the truck, as in unbolted or something (see attached pictures). This is frustrating because my son’s life was in danger and for how long has this belt been like this? How many other peoples’ lives have been in danger? This brand new truck has had its fare share of problems and broken equipment. We have owned about 7 or 8 Ram trucks. I will never buy another Ram again. I am submitting this formal safety complaint regarding my 2025 RAM 1500 Limited, which I purchased new in November 2024 and currently with approximately 9,000 miles. The vehicle has exhibited repeated, dangerous failures of its advanced driver assistance and braking systems that place both the driver and public at serious risk. Summary of Safety Incidents: First Incident: While driving at approximately 35 mph, the vehicle abruptly and uncommandedly stopped, with no driver input. Fortunately, there were no vehicles behind me at the time, or this could have resulted in a high-speed rear-end collision. Second Incident: Roughly 400 miles later, while stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle displayed multiple warning alerts and shut itself off completely. Upon restarting and driving approximately 50 yards, the braking system failed for about five seconds, rendering the truck unable to stop. This failure was later replicated by the authorized dealership’s service team, who then informed me that the vehicle’s CPU had failed during repair attempts. The vehicle has now been out of service for over 50 days, and the dealer has returned it to me twice in an unsafe condition. Stellantis, the vehicle manufacturer, has acknowledged the problem but has not provided a resolution.

- #11665133June 5, 2025SUSPENSION
Air suspension stopped working. Rear driver side drops with out noticed at anytime while parked or driving. My safety concern is that it will drop low enough while driving on the highway and cause for my truck to roll over. I have read about others having the same issues with the air suspension in the front, back or both. I was going to take it to the dealership but reading online from different souses and other that have the same problems the dealer had not fully fix the problem. Am not in the position to leave my vehicle in the services department of the dealership for then not to fix the problem.

On May 16 2025 I started my truck and all the lights started flashing on my cluster( I took pictures) I drove down the street in my vehicle and it put itself into park. I drove back to my shop and called the dealership to make an appointment along with enterprise Rent-A-Car. I had the rental vehicle from May 16 through May 22. After the ABS module recall was performed on May 21, 2025, my 2021 Ram Rebel began experiencing electrical and mechanical failures affecting multiple vehicle systems. While driving at approximately 7 mph, the vehicle unexpectedly shifted itself into Park. Just like the separate occasion, the parking brake engaged while the vehicle was in motion. These events pose a major safety hazard. Since the recall, the following issues have occurred: •SERVICE BRAKES: Parking brake engaging while driving; ABS-related instability. •POWER TRAIN: Vehicle attempting to shift into Park and 4WD High without input. •ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: Dash lights flicker; HVAC system changes temperature settings on its own (e.g., jumping to 72°F); ongoing parasitic battery draw. •ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL: Loss of system coordination and erratic vehicle behavior. •FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM: Sudden drop in fuel range readings (e.g., from 180 miles to 23 miles instantly). •VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL: Unexpected shifting and control changes during low-speed driving. •UNKNOWN OR OTHER: General system instability, rough driving behavior, and degraded performance. I was by the dealership when it went into park so I pulled in. The dealership has acknowledged the update was performed but refuses to inspect the truck until July 8, despite the escalating safety concerns. I believe the ABS module or its software update is causing communication failures across the vehicle’s CAN network, affecting critical systems. This vehicle is not safe to drive in its current condition. I was told because I did not purchase the vehicle at Wilder that I was not eligible for a loaner vehicle.

Automatic door locks fail to lock over 15mph as all other models of Ram trucks. This is a safety issue especially when traveling with minor passengers in the rear as well as front seats. Rear seat passengers unbuckled can open door and fall out and injuries can occur.

On 6-4-25 I was idling around a parking lot and my Ram truck SUDDENLY ACCELERATED by itself and took off....I slammed on the brakes and swerved to the side of the vehicle in front of me in case the truck didnt stop. The brakes squealed to a stop. Just in front of me was 4 lanes of traffic I would have driven across if the truck hadn't stopped...with 2 GRANDKIDS with me! It was not driver error and my floor mat was not in the way and I had not been using cruise control that day . But I did just have the truck in the shop a few days earlier for a recall on a software update

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle experienced loss of power steering functionality. The contact pulled over to the side of the road, and turned off and restarted the vehicle. The contact resumed driving; however, the power steering was intermittently inoperable while driving. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving, causing the vehicle to jerk while turning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the steering rack and pinon gears, the intermediate shaft, and the steering wheel needed to be replaced. Additionally, an alignment was needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: RQ23003 (Steering). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.

I just got off the highway where I was driving 65mph. I was drive down the road with a passenger making a right hand turn. In the middle of the turn the power steering stopped working and I proceeded to go straight. I was able to stop before crashing into a wall. I couldn’t only imagine the pannic of losing power steering at 65mph on a high way. The dealer said I need a $3,000 rack and Pinion. All over the internet it shows the 2019 ram was built with a faulty power steering and a lot were recalled. I don’t see how the recall didn’t make it to my vehicle but it almost caused a huge accident.

The abs module for this vehicle has failed and is a major safety hazard. A known issue that has been on going with this particular part for years. I myself have waited over 6 months with a lemon of a truck because the part is on back order. We have called multiple dealerships and their response has been, “the part is on manufacturing review. “ No recall for this specific part has been issued and no dealership/insurance or Chrysler themselves have not provided us or any others with a solution.

Truck has auto start/stop for fuel efficiency. It automatically engages on startup. Truck is prone to sudden unexpected acceleration when it is engaged. Has almost caused 3 wrecks with my truck. Dealership says they know about the problem and that I should just turn it off everytime I get in the truck. This will kill somebody some day. I forgot to turn it off today and it almost caused me to rear-end another vehicle while at a stoplight.

I am experiencing the EXACT same problems with my truck as recall 22V904000 (ZB8). Dodge refuses to make the repair under the recall. Dodge claims my VIN# is outside the recall range. But...I am experiencing the exact same problems associated with the recall. Please tell Dodge to extend the recall to my vehicle. Thank you.

The steering is difficult as though the power steering is gone at low speeds. My battery died and after disconnecting it and replacing the battery, the power steering was fine for a few days. It then went back to not working and hasn’t worked since. Steering the truck around turns through a city is difficult when power steering isn’t available. No warning lights or check engine lights have been illuminated.
