- #11660291May 11, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The Forward Collision Mitigation camera failed, prompting the center screen to continuously blink and beep uncontrollably with no ability to turn off the blinking or beeping. The constant blinking locks up all controls such that you are unable to adjust any of the settings, and the constant beeping is loud enough to cause the driver to be unable to reasonably hear their surroundings and cause annoyance/agitation to the driver. The problem was inspected & diagnosed by Valley Mitsubishi in Longmont, CO. The problem first appeared on [XXX] with the warning light first coming on in the morning and the continuous blinking/beeping/lockup occurring by evening that same day. - #11649285March 19, 2025FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
My 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander SEL special edition was purchased in December 2022. In February 2024, the fuel pump went out the dealership said it was not a recall, however it was covered under my warranty. Now, March 2025, my fuel pump has went out again. This is the second time and the third fuel pump counting the original in the vehicle. Even though it’s covered by warranty, it is still not a recall? How can a fuel pump go out two times in three years?

Radio does a hard reset all on its own, we lose backup camera, alerts and all safety functions that are built into the radio for adjustment. Also get collision warning stating it’s not working. Radio is no longer working. We asked the dealer and they said it’s going to be a recall very soon when we went in for an oil change.

This vehicle has been deteriorating since around the 10-15k miles. One of the recalls should have fixed something that was happening to my heater /ac not turning on. I would turn on the vehicle and the fan wouldn't turn on. I had turn off and restart the vehicle. this has happened multiple times. The display panel will turn off randomly while driving. the main problem is my car drifts to side. really bad. I feel really unsafe in it. i had to pay outside company to see what it was and have them continue to align my tires because it gets so shaky. i can't even attach a hitch to this. the car shifts to the sides really bad, even over the smallest bumps at low mileage. someone from one of the dealerships told me there was nothing wrong with my tires (i asked them to check it when I went for a recall). i was told the vehicle feels different b/c mitsubishi motor is now made by nissan. he thought i was dumb or something. i haven't been able to get this fixed b/c idk what to do. im not hte car expert. they are. i have to constantly align the wheels but i've pretty much exhausted how many times I can get them aligned. now apparently my shocks are bad? and mitsubishi won't sell the shocks to an outside auto repair shop.

- #11643805February 19, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
I purchased my 2024 Outlander in August and drive 150 miles daily, Monday to Friday. Since November, with only 2,500 miles on it, I've experienced recurring issues: 1. Adaptive cruise control turns off frequently 2.Forward collision light comes on unnecessarily often several times daily (when starting, driving and when cruise is on) 3.Vehicle brakes suddenly on the interstate 4.Random forward crash light warnings I've taken it to the shop five times, with the following repairs: 1.Radar adjustment (done several times) 2. Radar sensor recalibration (several times) 3. Replacement of forward distance warning sensors 4. Front bumper bracket replacement due to bend 5. Mitsubishi has been involved on 4 occasions 6. I have called and put in a complete with Mitsubishi three times and they always say they will contact me with a resolution within a few days and I have never heard back with any resolution. 7. We have also been made aware that this does not follow the owners manual and has also caused air bags to go off in other situations which has injured customers. Despite these repairs, the issues persist. On January 24, 2025, Valley Imports left a voicemail stating that Mitsubishi acknowledged it's a known issue with some Outlanders, but they don't have a reliable fix.I do have this voicemail but it is to large for me to upload.

1) 12/20/2024: Took the car to a Mitsubishi dealer as the 'Check Engine Light' was ON for a few days. They erased the code but could not diagnose the cause. Returned home and could NOT charge the car using the same standard outlet (level 1) I used since I bought the car. The instrument cluster displayed the following (Please see Pic 1): a) Error message 'PHEV System Fault, Service Required'. b) Check engine light. c) Forward Collision Mitigation System [FCM] OFF warning light. d) Rear Automatic Emergency Braking [Rear AEB] system OFF warning light. e) Plug-in hybrid EV system warning light. Since 12/20/2024, I have been driving the car with these serious safety issues. 2) 1/2/2025: 'On-board charger' was replaced by the dealer. But the same error continued. Per dealer invoice, they "performed drive cycle pattern 3 and the code returned". Obviously under certain conditions, the erased code returned. 3) Since mid-November, 2024, I have been noticing two different EV range mileage. Please see Pic 2. My phone app showed (on 1/26/2025) a 51 mile EV range whereas the instrument cluster showed only a 39 mile range. All the errors still remain as of 1/26/2025. 4) Opened a case with Mitsubishi but they are refusing to respond with updates. With so many safety issues due to 'PHEV System Fault', I am afraid of taking the car out.

My car started with remote starter app x2. I went out to the car and it would not start. Indicator light said to put fob near start button. Still didn't start. Jump started and had multiple malfunction lights on. Replaced batter with brand new battery. Followed all instructions. Forward collision and blinds pot warning malfunction errors persist and those features will not work. Research shows this can can severe vehicle malfunction and cause an accident. Dealer can't look at it for 8 weeks.

In the morning where I live for the last few days it has been below 0. The Outlander PHEV even when plugged in over night will start the gas engine and drive for about one minute until the gas engine shuts off and comes up with a message saying power reduced with a turtle symbol. When it does this you have no heat (HVAC) the heated seats and heated steering wheel does not work as well as the front and rear defrost. The car speed seems to be limited to about 40MPH. This issue is not news as many PHEV owners are dealing with the same issue, From my understanding Mitsubishi didn't install a battery warmer on the new generation Outlander PHEV however the prior generation Outlander PHEV did have a battery warmer and there were no issues with that model in cold climates. Your vehicle should always be a reliable source of heat when needed it doesn't seem to be very reliable in cold climates and it really is a hazard when it decides to reduce power with no warning.

For the past 3 winters since I had this vehicle when it is cold outside the vehicle starts hard or will not start at all requiring a jump. It will not shift gears, or accelerate. The battery light comes on after the vehicle is running. I have called the local dealership and was told this happens when it is cold. I was told to bring the car in and let it sit there when it's cold so they can try and re create the problems they stated the battery is fine. As of today the vehicle started to leak oil after it started hard. When i purchased the vehicle i had noticed the hood shakes and bounces when driving. I mentioned this to the sales agent and they stated it was a known issue and they would recall the hood but it was a timely process. It is unsafe to drive a vehicle that will not accelerate or change from reverse to park and then roll It is also.unsafe to drive with oil leaking in your car I have made my vehicle available each time there is a situation The battery light comes on but has been tested at the dealership in the last 2 months This happens every time it's cold i call and they tell me itsa known issue when it's cold. When i purchased the vehicle I noticed the hood bouncing I asked the sales person about it and they said it was a known issue and they would fix it when the parts came in. I should have been more careful as it was a vehicle right off the truck.

On January 12 at 9:54am I was driving less than a 1/4 of a mile. I stopped at a stop sign and my cabin was filled with smoke. I thought it was coming from the engine so i turned the heat off for the car. I proceeded to the next stop sign and I then realized that my driver side seat was on fire and the smoke was coming out from between my legs for the seat was burning from the inside. I have taken the car to the dealership and it is reported that there is a faulty heating element in the seat. The car can not be started for each time the car is started the fire reignites. Due to the air bags being attached to this same control panel I can not drive the car off the lot. This car is a huge safety issue.
