Driving on the belt line in Madison, Wisconsin on Mother’s Day and the engine just completely lost power and shut off. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR, no warning lights, nothing. Had to coast down an off ramp where a cop sat behind us and just waited for the tow truck to arrive. Engine was locked in gear and would not even try to start, we are lucky we were close to an exit or we would have caused an accident for sure. The car could not be placed in neutral. Attached is a recall that is exactly what happened to my vehicle.

My car has a strong gasoline odor when I drive it as well as when I turn it off and park it. However, especially when parking. In addition, after refueling, the fuel gauge lags for a few minutes in terms of fuel level. As a result of these events, I searched online for vehicle recalls and came across the information on your page. As you suggested, I contacted the authorized Land Rover dealer. After multiple communications and several attempts to schedule an appointment to address the issue, they inform me that they do not currently have the parts in stock to address the issue that the vehicle presents. At the same time, they tell me that if I want to fix it as soon as possible, I must pay for the service and that they will reimburse me once they receive the "recall letter." I am currently awaiting information on the cost of the service, but I am doubtful of the dealer's explanation. I'd like to confirm with the NHTSA that this is the correct procedure. My current concern is that the high temperatures will result in a fire caused by a gasoline leak.

I been having a fuel smell from under my 2011 LR4 for several months, which is now severe fuel leaking from the fuel tank, and no warning lights. I have contacted Land Rover to report because of the recall campaign, and was told that nothing can be cover under recall until notified or vin appears on recall. I have waiting for recall letters to be send out, don’t want to pay for repair and then have wait for refund of only. I am afraid to drive LR4 because of the fuel leak, don’t want the gas leak to accidentally be spark and cause fire.
