This electric vehicle failed to charge at level 2 charger at home. It charged at level 3 fast chargers however it registered a full charge at 125 miles and the level of charge in % and miles remaining fluctuated with sudden shifts. There were no warning lights or other signs of problems. I took it to the dealership who wanted me to keep driving and wait a week for an appointment. I knew that this could indicate an ICCU failure for the second time and insisted. Also asked that charging port and 12v be tested It was the second ICCU failure which can lead to a dead stop without warning in traffic. This is the second failure in this car.

Car lost all power and came to a stop while backing out of a driveway on a residential street. It would not respond to any attempts to start it. None of assessories worked. It had to be towed to the dealership. The dealer said the 12v battery was at fault and had to be ordered from Kia. I was told the ICCU unit had failed and drained the 12v battery. It waited for the part from Kia. Then the ICCU needed to be replaced. This was in 2024. The part was not examined. There were no warning signs or symptoms. Had I been in highway traffic my life would have been in danger

ICCU failed while driving on freeway. Heard loud pop which dealership determined to be a blown fuse as a result of the ICCU failing. Car decelerated to 30-40 mph and stayed in this limp mode. Light on dash indicated an electrical system issue. Vehicle was towed to dealership and repair was made under warranty.

On last Feb-2025, Car stopped while driving, message pop up electrical problem, stop the car immediately, it did not have time to properly park, stopped in middle of the road and have to wait 3 hours for tow truck, car wont open or move, all electric dead. (ICCU, fuse and 12V battery replaced) on last week 01/26/26 at 64K miles, message pop up again on screen dash, electrical problem, stop car. i was able to drive at 30mph to dealer and leave the car. after 8 days on lot, i got a call from dealer, ICCU needs to be replaced, not sure when part will be received. Driving a rental while

The ICCU has failed twice in my EV6. It is a fairly common issue for this vehicle. I had the ICCU replaced after the first failure, but it has failed again. There was no indication something was wrong with the car until I heard a pop and then the dash indicated "Check Electrical System"

Was driving around 45mph when I heard a pop noise, like an over pressurized soda bottle popped open. Moments later car abruptly dropped to under 35mph and reported errors and to check battery system. Brought it into dealer and they confirmed my ICCU failed and had to be replaced.

About 10 miles from home a warning saying to check the electrical system came on the dash and the car would not go faster than about 25 miles per hour. We had to limp back home, turning the car off every few miles as it would start aggressively beeping to turn off the car. After getting it towed to the dealership, it took them several weeks to determine it was the ICCU and fuse, and I did not take possession of my car back for nearly 8 weeks. While this was under warranty, I am still currently waiting for reimbursement on the tow to the dealer and the rental I had to get for 3 days before the dealer could get me a loaner.

10:00 am January 28th AFTER A DRIVE OF APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES TO THE GROCERY STORE, we parked the 2023 Kia EV6 Wind,in the parking area, then entered the store to shop. On returning, we placed the groceries in the trunk and proceeded to leave for home. The push button "START" provoked a notice on the dash that the 12 volt battery was "LOW". The drive circuits would not enable. Prior to going in the store the dash information reported the main battery was at 62%, all else is normal. We are now stuck 20 miles from home. We called KIA roadside assistance, via a cell phone. The Kia site told us it did not recognize the VIN number we had entered three separate times.. It would not proceed down the logic tree for us to be assisted by their service. We called :AAA"they sent a service truck with a jumper battery which allow us to get a small charge on the 12 volt system, enough to get us home. Immediately upon arriving I opened the hood, retrieved my "Fluke DVM" to measure battery voltage. 6.2 volts was the reading. The 12 volt battery was not charged by the voltage regulation system in our car. Fortunately, we were dressed well, being the temperature outdoors was 14*F at the time and we had access to the grocery store for safety. Yet still a major inconvenience due to breakdown. Later, I disconnected the negative battery terminal, then connected the 12 volt AGM battery charger I have purchased for home use. The battery was charged to full overnight to 13.2 volts. I removed the charger cables, then left the battery set for 12 hours disconnected from the vehicle. The voltage dropped to 12.6 volts dc, indicating a healthy battery. This morning January 29th, I called the Kia dealership to explain our problem, the scheduler has acknowledged a possible bad charge control unit, but told me if it was not a control unit problem, I would pay a fee of $135 dollars for the troubleshooting, even though the vehicle has approximately 33,000 miles. The engine/power of my electric EV6 died. It went into limp home mode (speed limited) briefly before dying completely. I restarted it and was able to get it to a parking spot before it died again, but I was just lucky I was on a surface street with parking. Dealership confirmed it was an ICCU failure

Vehicle failed to start (no power). Charged the 12v battery via wall charger and was able to start vehicle but was faced with numerous warnings, including low power mode, electrical errors and other warnings. Car towed to dealership and was found to have a failed ICCU.

ICCU failure. Was confirmed by shop car was towed to over phone. But no mention of it on invoice as of yet. I was at traffic light when I heard a pop and when I tried to go, got the warning message to pullover and the turtle icon. I made it to a towable spot. Super fortunate all in all. Can’t imagine if on highway in weather. No hints of failure before. Car was recently purchased month prior. I took it in for recall within first week, was told all good, software was updated. I kept between 20%-80% at all times, charged lvl2 at work daily and lvl1 at home sometimes. Had cheap voltage meter in car and was reading fine. Hope to get my car back soon.

While driving my Kia EV6 in the middle of a snowstorm, the vehicle experienced a sudden and severe power failure. I heard a loud popping sound from the rear of the cabin, after which the vehicle immediately entered reduced-power (limp) mode. Within approximately one minute, the vehicle shut down entirely and lost all propulsion and mobility. I was able to move the vehicle to a safe location only because I was not in traffic or on the highway at the time of the failure. Had this occurred at highway speeds or in active traffic, it would likely have resulted in a dangerous situation with a high risk of collision, especially given the severe winter weather, low visibility, and slippery road conditions. The vehicle has approximately 21,000 miles. This is the second failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) in this vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Kia dealer, who has officially diagnosed the failure as a failed ICCU and associated fuse. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the failure. The first indication of a problem was the popping sound, immediately followed by limp mode and then a complete shutdown without further warning. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The repeat nature of this failure, lack of advance warning, and sudden loss of propulsion represent a serious safety defect.

While changing lanes on a freeway, the car passed through a narrow strip of slush from recent snowfall. The car immediately disabled the motors, preventing acceleration and regenerative braking for nearly 50 seconds. There were no warning lights, sounds, or messages displayed on the car's gauge cluster display, either for the initial loss of propulsion or for the restoration of propulsion. This caused a loss of traction when the car eventually passed through a patch of packed snow and ice.

Whike driving down the street, the car lost power despite being charged to 95%. An alert went off on screen stating an electric system issue and then stopped in the middle of the road. Between the warning showing up, and car losing full power was less than a minute. There was no opportunity to pull over safely and the car was stuck in the middle of the street until a tow truck was able to come. Police had to direct traffic as it was blocking the only lane on a busy street.

The AC charging for this car stopped working around [XXX]. After 3 trips to the dealership for repair I brought it back a 4th time and because the dealership was unable to repair it they gave me a loaner to use while they tried to figure out the problem. During this time they removed the entire battery from the car, dropped the suspension, experienced the car not being able to go into gear (reverse or drive), not hold a charge etc. The car has been 100% inoperable since [XXX]. Today, 01/27/26 the dealership phoned to let me know that a regional Kia technician came by and realized there was just one screw that needed to be tightened and now the car works perfectly and I can come pick up my car and bring the loaner back. There is no way I would ever feel safe driving that car again. Kia America offered me a buy back with the condition that I pay them $9,350 in depreciation.
