Vehicle speedometer has randomly blacked out on numerous occasions not allowing me to see any of my gauges. While driving on the interstate and merging the vehicle has stalled and RPMS stay stagnant yet you can hear the engine revving & then it acts like it will catch up. While driving up hill the vehicle began to stall almost like it was towing something when it was not. Back up camera has failed to turn on (resolved its self after I restarted the car). When I take it into the dealer error codes never seem to pop for these issues even though it tells me to see dealer, and read manual for proper oil and fuel usage. It’s like it has a mind of its own and it worries me to continue driving my three children around when electrical issues randomly happen every month or so & it needs constant updating. Both batteries have been replaced due to these issues draining the life out of them.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that several unknown lights on the instrument cluster were illuminated and flashing. Additionally, the headlights were flashing, and the camera screen was blank. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, additional force was needed to stop the vehicle. There was an abnormal horn sound detected. The contact stated that the engine overheated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was jump-started. The contact was locked out on several occasions. The contact stated that the third-row seat had folded her child up while parental controls were enabled. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where the battery was replaced, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Charbonneau Car Center (346 1st Street West Dickinson, ND 58601); who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

This morning at approximately 5:30 AM on my way to work on Highway 69 bridge in Tuscaloosa, Alabama my sunroof spontaneously exploded. No foreign objects hit my vehicle. At the time of the event, I thought my car had been shot or a tire exploded as it was very loud. I have spoken with the dealership and was informed that “they have never heard of any such thing”. I spoke with my insurance company, who informed me that spontaneously exploding sunroofs have been reported frequently lately. The dealership states that there is no recall, and my vehicle is out of warranty, so they are not held liable for any such event. Fortunately, I am able to file this on my insurance however, I feel that this is a manufacturer defect and should be covered by the manufacturer regardless of warranty as this is a safety risk.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the third-row passenger’s side panel. While inspecting the vehicle, the contact was able to fit their fingers between the window and the panel. The contact stated that while turning the steering wheel to the right or the left, the front driver’s and passenger’s side wheels were vibrating and made a winding sound. The contact stated that while making a sharp turn, there was a loud clunking sound and vibration coming from the wheels. The contact stated that the message to clear the front camera was displayed, and that the Driver Assist feature was deactivated because the camera was not clean. The contact believed there was a glitch in the system because the camera seemed to be clean at the time of the warning. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V545000 (Structure); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the dealer replaced the panel and claimed that the panel was flush with the vehicle. After the vehicle was repaired, the whistling and rattling sound persisted. The contact inspected the vehicle again and stated that the panel and the window were not flush and were still able to place their fingers between the panel and the window. The dealer informed the contact that the work was completed and could not adjust the panel. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,200.

I have had nothing but issues with the electrical part of this Wagoneer. For months the BLIND SPOT ALERT system has flashed on for no reason. And then it sets an entire host of sensors off that beep continuously on and off while driving down the road. My car has been with the dealership for going on 4 weeks with no fix.

On August 22nd, 2025 my family and I were traveling in my Wagoneer down [XXX] , through the Bighorn National Forest. A dash notification stated that the cars start / stop system may no longer work and needed to be serviced. 5-10 minutes later, a battery light came on the dashboard. we carefully drove out of the mountains into the nearest town: Buffalo, WY. We pulled into an auto store. the employee there informed us the alternator was bad. There are no alternators available in the United States for a 2022 Wagoneer. I have been informed by the Jeep dealer that current backorder date to obtain one is 168 days. My family was stuck on the side of the road for 5 hours before we could get a taxi to a rental car place. When exiting the Bighorn National Forest, there are 5 warning zones that state there are upcoming grades of 6-10% and mandatory brake checks at each of the five zones for trucks (cars optional). This power failure could have been catastrophic for my family. I have come to understand that Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge have been having problems with the etorque / alternator systems since 2021. Now my very expensive wagoneer is stuck in Wyoming. Undriveable. I cannot obtain the replacement part for over 5 months. 2023 Jeep Wagoneer Series III 4x4 ~34,582 miles. Service dates: Aug 18–20, 2025. Work included a 4-wheel rotation on Aug 19. Vehicle is equipped with aftermarket Fuel Off Road D679 REBEL wheels that use spacers, sold with the pre-owned vehicle by a licensed dealer. What failed: After the rotation, the front-right wheel fasteners lost clamp load on drive from dealership. On inspection, four of six lug nuts were very loose/near removal and the wheel could be moved laterally by hand. Suspected contributors: (1) misalignment of polyurethane spacer during re-installation, leading technician to believe wheel fasteners were “torqued-to-spec,” and (2) interaction between spacer/wheel seating surfaces and the hub during movement. All components are available for inspection upon request. Video of the condition and photographs of the spacer are available; the dealer reports relevant in-shop CCTV exists. Safety risk: Loss of clamp load during vehicle operation created sufficient lateral wheel movement to be felt as wobble/thumping of steering wheel, with risk of wheel separation/loss of control. Reproduction/confirmation: The dealer confirmed the issue, and reported findings to customer. According to the Service Manager, the post-incident follow-up inspection (Aug 20) found the front-right spacer had shifted off-center during the tire rotation service, allowing the wheel to reach false-secure position and the fasteners to reach a proper torque without properly seating. This led to clamp-load loss as the spacer re-seated in subsequent vehicle operation, particularly as speeds increased. Inspections performed: The dealer inspected the vehicle on Aug 20 after towing back to the Jeep dealership. Customer has notified manufacturer of this incident and is awaiting response. Warnings/symptoms: No vehicle warnings. Around 1 mile into the drive from dealership, a slight wobble and then a repeating thump developed, that worsened by arrival at destination, prompting inspection.

While driving the vehicle the oil engine light came on as well as a front collision warning lamp. The car then would not go into a higher gear. The air condition shut off and the car started making an electric type of noise and started slowing down and eventually stopped leaving myself and my two children stranded. This put both myself and my two children at risk. We had to get transportation home and get the car towed to the dealership and they confirmed that it is a malfunction of the thermostat which they relayed is a KNOWN ISSUE with this model of car and its engine. There has been a recall with Jeep, but only with a portion of its vehicles and my VIN was not included.

The vehicle indicated to stop and pull over when attempting to start it in the garage, it was not moving. It made a terrible grinding noise. Towed to the dealer with a failed battery and need to replace the Motor Generator Unit (MGU), part of its eTorque mild-hybrid system. The part is on back order for more than 45 days as there are more than 282 failures reported. This is a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer that the dealership is saying is out of warranty and will charge me $4,000 to fix.

Visor post clips crack which causes the visor to drop creating a major safety issue. Based upon online research, this appears to be a very well-known problem for Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators over several model years (2018 to at least 2023 it seems). To repair a visor at the dealership is over $200, or $400+ when both fail (as mine and tens of thousands of others have). In researching this issue, a $10 aftermarket clip sold on Amazon will fix it.

My 2022 Wagoneer has been shutting off and locking up while on red lights/stops signs ever since purchasing, I was involved in a car accident at a red light and hit in the back of my truck due to it shutting completely off on me, it locked up and wouldn't turn on, this happened in 12/26/23. I have since taken it into the Dallas Dodge dealership twice with this concern, once about a yr ago and they said since it didn't shut of when they tested it they couldn't do anything. I took it again on 8/5/25 and they are saying the same thing that there's nothing they can do, they also said that Frisco Dodge has already fixed a recall for e torque electrical issues that cause 2022 Waggoners to shut off back in August 2022. It is my believe that the recall was never fixed correctly or there's something else really wrong and they need to fix it before I'm involved in another accident that's more serious next time.

The thermostat failed, causing the vehicle to overheat and die on a US highway with multiple passengers inside. The vehicle subsequently needed to be towed to the dealer for service. This is a known issue but Jeep has not issued a recall. There is a customer satisfaction campaign (CSN 26B) in regard to thermostat failure, but this VIN has not been included, despite having the same engine/year known to have a defective thermostat. The overheating was a safety issue that came on suddenly and stranded the driver and passengers away from home. The warning light for engine temperature came on within a minute of the engine shutting down leaving little time to park safely along the highway.

ABS and Stability control lights came on and I immediately lost braking pressure within 100 yards of warning lights and could not stop the vehicle and drove through a stop light. Fortunately there were no cars in the intersection. I also have had steering warning light as well as engine warning light. My Wagoneer’s engine stumbled and put itself in park at a stop light in another issue with the vehicle. The loss of braking force is most concerning safety issue to me. My car is only 4 days old and has already had numerous issues.

I am writing to formally request your assistance regarding my 2023 Jeep Wagoneer— [XXX] — which has experienced extensive and repeated mechanical failures that have placed my safety—and the safety of my young children—in serious jeopardy. This was purchased new. In December, I went through arbitration regarding these issues. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful, largely because I did not have legal representation and was unable to adequately represent myself. Since that time, the problems have continued, and the vehicle remains dangerous and unreliable. I am fearful this vehicle is going to end up costing our family our lives. One of the most recent alarming incidents resulted in me sustaining a black eye due to unexpected, random braking— this was in late July. In addition, there have been ongoing and unresolved issues with the four-wheel-drive system, despite nine separate repair attempts. The rear differential has been replaced four times, and the front transfer case has also been replaced—yet the problems persist. To date, my vehicle has undergone over 40 documented repair attempts and has spent more than 250 days in the dealership for repairs. Despite these efforts, it is clear that the vehicle cannot be properly repaired and continues to pose a serious risk. Given the severity, frequency, and duration of these failures, I believe this case warrants urgent attention under Arkansas consumer protection and lemon law statutes. I respectfully request that your office review my case and take any appropriate actions to ensure my family’s safety and my rights as a consumer. I can provide full service records, repair invoices, and documentation from the arbitration process upon request. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The main head unit for the infotainment system, specifically the software. Upon failing a software update in August 2024, the vehicle started switching itself from English to Italian, from Standard to Metric units, the high beams would no longer function, the auto locking doors after 15mph would no longer work, the emergency pedestrian sensing braking was turned off, the entire infotainment screen randomly shuts off and comes back on as well. Without readily available high beams my ability to see further distances at night was diminished. 2)The uninitiated change in language and units of measure made it more difficult to verify vehicle speed and other important settings with intervention to return the system to English. 3) Largest concern, auto locks not turning on, without notifying the driver, left my young children at risk of opening the back doors and falling out of the vehicle at high speeds. The dealership has tried to fix this twice, they have updated the software to current version and reset the system. They also reset the customer programmable features, which corrected the issue with the high beams, but the other issues with software remain, including the auto locks at speed, language change, units change and screen shutting off and on. I have also contacted Jeep customer service, they do not have a remedy in place and verified the software is up to date. After reviewing Jeep Wagoneer forums, this is effecting many owners of the Wagoneer after that fall 2024 update, and all the dealerships are scratching their heads. But without autolocks at speed, this is a big issue. No warning lights came on to let me know, and the bug seems to be in all software versions for the Wagoneer from Fall 2024 to current.

Vehicle runs hot due to faulty thermostat. This is a very common and known issue but jeep refuses to replace it unless it runs hot and dies. Hundereds or thousands of the 3.0L wagoneer have had this issue. It is potentially dangerous as it can leave you stranded in the roadway in traffic. I attempted to get mine replaced proactively due to it being a well known problem and opened 2 custom complaint cases with jeep. Both times I was told it must fail, run hot and leave me stranded to get it repaired under warranty. Well, just as I assumed it would, it did and left me stranded in the middle of the roadway.
