My 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L has a serious defect. While making a normal adjustment to the rearview mirror, the entire mirror assembly broke off the windshield and pulled pieces of the glass with it. There was no impact, no accident, and no excessive force—this happened during a routine adjustment while parked. The mount clearly failed, not the driver. This leaves the mirror unusable, damages the windshield, and creates a safety hazard. I’ve since discovered that other Wagoneer owners are reporting the same issue. I’m requesting warranty or goodwill coverage for repair/replacement, as this is a factory defect in the mirror mount or adhesive, not typical glass damage.

On September 4th, 2025, my wife and I purchased a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series II bearing VIN number [XXX] being sold by Carvana. On September 23rd, 2025, the Jeep Wagoneer was delivered to our residence by Carvana. The Carvana employees unloaded the Jeep Wagoneer from their tow truck and then parked the Wagoneer in our driveway. After the Carvana employees departed with our Ford Explorer, my wife and I decided to take the Wagoneer for a drive. We loaded our three children into the vehicle and my wife drove, while I remained in the front passenger seat. We traveled approximately one block away from our residence when we came to a stop at a stop sign and the Wagoneer turned off its ignition on its own and put itself into park. We were on a slight incline and the vehicle began to roll backwards under no power, but due to the incline. To prevent this, my wife pressed the brake pedal and the vehicle ceased moving. The only way we were to get the ignition running again was to restart the vehicle by pressing the ignition push-button. The vehicle restarted and there were two error messages that appeared on the instrument cluster. The first message indicated that the start/stop system was unavailable. The second error message indicated that the hood was open. We left the stop sign, in an attempt to return to our residence, where the mechanical failure occurred and then came to a traffic signal that was red on U.S. Highway 11, in three lanes of traffic. We came to a stop and the same mechanical error occurred yet again with the Wagoneer turning itself off and shifting itself into park. My wife restarted the ignition and the same two error messages appeared on the instrument cluster. This time the “check engine” light came on. We also determine there to be heavy thumping in the brake pedal when pressing the brakes. During this first drive in the Wagoneer, my wife adjusted the rear-view mirror and the rear-view mirror fell right off the windshield. I was stopped at a red light, stacked about 10 cars deep. Once the light turned green, I pressed the gas pedal, but the auto start-stop feature malfunctioned and turned the car completely off. I then pressed the button to reactivate the ignition, and pressed the gas pedal again. After moving forward a few car lengths (or more), the computer engaged the emergency brake and clamped down on the wheels. I was then rear-ended at about 15-20mph.

- #11697752November 5, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
The vehicle was bought June 2023, starting September 2023 we have had continual electrical problems. The blind spot warning system constantly activates and takes over. The automatic braking system randomly activates for no reason. The car will go into full braking and stop. This will happen at all speeds to include highway speeds. Now I am getting check engine lights and the code changes every time the light activates. When we take it to the dealership for service all we get is "we can't replicate the issue" and nothing is fixed. I ran a Car Fax and found that instead of coding the problem that it was brought in for, Jeep has coded it as maintenance inspection or electrical system checked. This is even when modules, radios or electrical systems have been replaced. I have a feeling that Jeep is coding this way to avoid recalls or to hide problems. I would think this constitutes fraud. My Jeep has serious electrical issues that Jeep will not address. I am stuck driving it as it is my only vehicle.

When starting the vehicle, the instrument panel cluster freezes on the start screen, eliminating the ability to see fuel level, speed, engine temperature. This has been reported to the dealership and examined by them. Although this was reported months ago, there has been no communication from the dealership. The dealer indicated that I am not alone in having this issue. Thankfully, it has always reset to date, but it is not safe to drive when in this configuration. There are no warnings before it happens. There is no pattern as to when it happens.

The car vibrates when it drives over 65-70 mph. Passengers feel car sick. Many Wagoneer drivers experience the same problem, but there is no remedy.

Since purchasing the vehicle, I have experienced a serious and recurring safety issue: when towing, the trailer lights work for approximately five minutes before a portion of them blackout. This failure renders towing both unsafe and illegal, as it compromises visibility and compliance with traffic laws. To date, my vehicle has been into the dealership three separate times for the same issue: 1.First Visit: I was told the problem was with my trailers. I paid to have both inspected, and both were confirmed to be in proper working order. 2.Second Visit: I was informed that a software issue had been identified and corrected through an update. The issue persisted immediately afterward. 3.Third Visit: I was recently told that Jeep is now aware of this as a known vehicle software defect and that there is currently no resolution available. This situation is unacceptable. I purchased this vehicle with the expectation that it would safely perform its advertised towing functions. Instead, I am left with a vehicle that cannot legally or safely tow — the very purpose for which it was purchased.

The thermostat failed prematurely. Car is less than 2 years old and 37,679 miles. About 37,600 at the time of incident. The engine overheated and the car states to pull over immediately. The manual states roughly that permanent engine damage can result so the driver is forced to pull over regardless of condition. I was on a highway with very narrow shoulders with family, two parents and five children. A tsb exists but a recall should be mandated. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2025/MC-11016248-0001.pdf

At stoplight getting ready to turn left light turns green I proceed going about 15 20 mph in the middle of the intersection middle of the turn the car just slammed on its brakes. I thought I got in a car accident but looked around and there was no other cars around. This was very dangerous and could’ve been catastrophic the car now the next morning was taken to Jeep and they’ve been working on it for two days with no answers. I just bought this car eight days prior to it happening and do not want to get back in this car so I’m trying to do a buyback or lemon. Law are looking for my options for more so you and other people should be notified it’s a dangerous vehicle.

About 45 minutes into a drive, vehicle bogged down. Dash started flashed high coolant theme then immediately after got an alert for low oil pressure. Immediately pulled over to the side of the road and shut the vehicle off. Took almost an hour for vehicle to cool down enough to check coolant level. Level was completely gone. Very minimal level in the reservoir. Levels were just checked at a service appointment not even 2 weeks ago. No signs of any leaks on the floor inside the building my vehicle is parked in. Had vehicle towed to dealership and the thermostat failed according to shop tech. Which is a very common issue for 2022-2024 Wagoneers. And have only been issued as a TSB instead of a recall so manufacturer isn’t responsible to cover this continued problem. A huge safety concern for a vehicle to overheat leaving the owner stranded. Fearful to drive my vehicle long distances with the possibility this can happen again and possibly damage my motor.

- #11692036October 8, 2025EXTERIOR LIGHTING
This vehicle is not equipped with an Auto High Beam feature. The result of this is that when the Headlights are in Auto Mode, the Manual control of the High Beams is disabled. Most people leave their headlights in Auto mode to ensure that they dont forget to turn them on or off, but then the high beams are inoperable. This can pose a significant safety concern when you consider that when someone is driving and needs the use of the high beams they have to take their eyes off the road to fumble around with the headlight dial so they can turn it to manual to enable the use of the high beams.

Speedometer & gauges will randomly blackout and not work and it causes the engine to do funny things while driving. Battery drains from the issues (stranded twice even after new batteries installed). Rear view camera sometimes glitches as well and freezes up.

- #11690985October 2, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
On 8/22/25 I was driving on the Interstate and attempted to set my cruise at 74 mph. After turning the cruise on and reaching the speed of 74 mph, I pressed the "set+" button. Almost immediately the car sped forward and within seconds I had reached the speed of 83 mph. I applied the brakes and looked down to see the cancelled cruise speed of 100 on my screen. I turned the cruise off and then back on. I was then able to successfully set the cruise at 74 mph. On 9/25/25 I was driving on the highway. I attempted to set my cruise at 56 mph. After turning on the cruise and reaching my desired speed, I pressed the "set+" button. Immediately the car sped forward and before I had a chance to react the car was going 65 mph. I applied the brakes and looked down to see the cancelled cruise speed of 100 on my screen. I turned the cruise off and back on. I pressed the "set+" button when I was going 56 mph and I immediately noticed that the cruise had set itself to 70 mph so I applied the brakes, turned the cruise off and back on. This time after pressing the "set+" button the cruise set itself at 60 mph. I applied the brakes, turned the cruise off and back on. On the 4th try, after pressing the "set+" button the cruise speed remained set at 56 mph.

- #11688869September 22, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, ENGINE, POWER TRAIN
Service brakes because the brakes engaged on their own while reversing, with no obstruction present. Power Train because the transmission downshifting unexpectedly in traffic, forcing us to pull over on the highway and restart the engine. Electrical because the rear camera blackouts while reversing fall under "back over prevention" and sometimes also electrical system. Engine because the oil pump solenoid failure with a complete oil pump replacement occurred. It's also an engine lubrication system failure which can cause catastrophic engine damage and loss of power.

- #11686587September 11, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While in the elementary school carline this morning, waiting to drop my kids off at school, my brakes completely failed unexpectedly, causing me to roll into the SUV in front of me. The line in the mornings is long and slow moving and I was stopped behind several other cars also waiting to drop their kids off — letting off the break and re-engaging the break to move forward as the line progressed. Halfway through the carline, I pushed on my break as the car in front of me had come to another complete stop, however, my break never engaged and my Wagoneer continued to roll forward without any warning or rationale. I continued to frantically push on my brakes trying to get my car to stop without them ever engaging and I rolled directly into the back of the SUV in front of me. I ultimately had to turn the gear to 'Park' to prevent the car from continuing to move forward. After sitting for a second and shifting it back into Drive, I did not experience another issue, however drove straight home and have not driven it again out of fear. My brake fluid was replaced less than 3 months ago and my pads and rotors are in great shape. There is zero reason this could have happened. I have an appointment with the mechanic (Corwin Jeep) tomorrow morning to look into the issue. Thankfully no damage was done to either car based on how slowly we were moving (1-2mph) but I cannot stress enough how catastrophic this could have been had a child been walking in front of my car, or had I been driving on the open road. This needs to be looked into urgently and a recall issued if others are reporting this same problem.
