I purchased a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee on [XXX] unaware that the vehicle was subject to a federal safety recall and stop-sale order. The recall (NHTSA 24V-838 / Manufacturer 94B) was issued on November 7, 2024, for a defect in the ABS control module that may disable the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and cause unintended vehicle movement even while stationary. A stop-sale order (VIR 2024-11-14) was issued by Stellantis on November 14, 2024, prohibiting the sale or delivery of affected vehicles until repaired. Despite this, the dealership sold me the vehicle while the recall was still open and unrepaired. In the months following my purchase, I began experiencing issues with the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC). On June 15, 2025, I paid $770 out-of-pocket for ETC sensor repairs after a loss of throttle response. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, but this defect may be linked to the broader electronic issues cited in the recall. No warning lights appeared in advance. I have been driving this vehicle daily without knowing it could malfunction in a way that puts myself and others at risk. I only learned of the recall on June 22, 2025, when I searched the VIN through NHTSA’s database. This has caused emotional distress, financial harm, and a complete loss of trust in the vehicle’s safety. I am seeking appropriate accountability for the illegal sale of this recalled vehicle and want to ensure others are not put in similar danger. The Carfax confirms that Landers McLarty Huntsville: Took possession of the vehicle on September 12, 2024, with 112,179 miles on it. Then recorded a sale to you on [XXX], showing 96,792 miles — a 15,387-mile rollback. That “Mileage Inconsistency” warning on Carfax is not just a clerical error. It shows the vehicle’s official odometer history was manipulated or misreported — and Landers McLarty is directly involved. My finance guy was Travis Christensen. In 2 attempts to resolve the issue, the first time I went in person, (6/10) he said “I will call back Wednesday when Deonte Sutton gets here”. Fine, I waited all day Wednesday, and there was no callback. In attempt to call them, I received no answer. I called today, (6/23), in attempt for updates on the situation. It felt as if he blew me off, saying “Yea me and Deonte have been trying to figure it out. I will call you later.” I called back 2 hours later, and no answer, it didn’t fully ring so I was sent to voice mail as if he declined the call. Vehicle: 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe Problem Description: While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly loses all propulsion and displays a message stating: “Put in Park Before Restarting.” This happens without warning, creating an immediate safety risk in traffic. The engine shuts down, and I am forced to stop in the middle of the road, shift to park, and manually restart the vehicle. This has occurred multiple times. The dealership and Jeep customer service acknowledges the issue but says no repair is available and has not resolved it. I’ve also been without a reliable vehicle since February 2025. I am aware of NHTSA complaints #11579877 and #11576290 describing identical problems in the same make/model/year. I believe this defect is related to the battery or hybrid powertrain system and poses a serious safety hazard to myself and others. I am also aware of NHTSA Recall 24V720000 related to battery issues, which may be linked to this sudden power loss. Symptoms: •Sudden loss of drive power •“Put in Park to Restart” message •Dash warnings (wrench/lightning bolt/hybrid system fault) •Must restart car to regain function Date problem began: [Feb 2025] Mileage: [17000] Vehicle still unrepaired and unsafe to drive.

We were just driving on the road when the passenger head rest deployed forward. We were not hit or parked anywhere, just normal driving through town. This sent a slight tingling sensation around back of neck and spine, now just sore later in the day.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Front passenger HID headlight on 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit V8, 45,000 miles. Yes How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Went out while driving at night, making it difficult to adequately see. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, it seems to be a known problem with these particular type of lights. I had a 2015 and it had the exact same issue. But before it was adequately diagnosed by the dealer, both headlights were affected and the fix was to replace the entire headlight assembly and replacement was quoted ~ $5000. I currently have the exact same model but 2020 and as of 6/18/25, it is starting to have the same issue. I called the dealer yesterday, 6/19, and was told that the lights are known not to last. If this is a "known" issue than why has Jeep continued to use the same lights putting people at risk at having headlights go out while driving???? Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, I immediately noticed my drive was darker and visibility was difficult in the dark.

The screen is delaminating. It will on its own changes settings, stations, etc. Dealership confirmed ongoing issue with these radio screens. It could disable SOS features and vehicle information, such as; fluid temps, suspension angles, and other necessities needed for safety and proper operation. Warning lights will also show up in the dash due to safety items potentially being disabled due to screen changing things by itself.

The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start while pressing the Push to Start button. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle eventually started after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer could not determine the cause of the failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000.

The engine oil filter housing cooler (part number is: 5184294AE) are made of dissimilar materials (plastic and aluminum) and with normal hot oil temperatures the materials expand and contract at different rates causing failure of the part and leaks. The leak causes loss of engine oil and engine coolant that can sudden engine damage while driving putting the driver and passengers at risk. This seems to affect not only this 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicle with a 3.6 Liter engine, but almost all 3.6 Liter engines in other Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram vehicles.

I was driving my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 on the highway at approximately 65-70 MPH, when suddenly the car started sputtering and my check engine light came on and started blinking. The car was essentially not drivable, so I pulled over at a gas station and had the car towed. This is dangerous as I was going uphill, and could have caused an accident, or worse. I did not have a check engine light prior to this! The next day the car was inspected and diagnosed by independent service center, who said there was a cylinder 4 engine misfire, so they replaced the spark plugs and the coils. Car was fixed, or so I thought, fast forward a couple months later while driving to work, same issue (misfires and sputtering) occurs again and coolant now runs low even though there are no visible signs of coolant leakage. I spoke to the independent service center and they mentioned there might be an issue with the engine such as a head gasket or fuel system. I got the Jeep towed to get checked, it was confirmed that it was an engine issue, especially the head gasket, camshaft, pistons, and lifters, and that I was going to need a new engine and it would cost between $8500 - 13000. My Jeep has approximately 83K miles. The issues I describe here with this engine are all similar to those that have been reported.

We were driving our 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and pulled into a parking lot and put the vehicle in Park. At this point the vehicle started flashing the battery light and would not turn off nor were we able to put the vehicle in drive. Essentially the entire vehicle was just sitting and running, but was inoperable and we were unable to shut the vehicle off. We left the vehicle running and walked away with our key fobs, but the vehicle would still not shut off. It's a safety issue to have a vehicle running and not be able to put it inn drive or turn it off. We had to call a flat bed tow truck. The vehicle is currently at the dealer and they are not sure what is wrong with it. The warning lamp that came on was the red battery light and Auto Emergency Braking - Active Braking On was flashing across the screen, but the vehicle wasn't engaged in driving. We have the fob information from when we dropped the vehicle off, but nothing has been confirmed.

My husband was driving down a state road when the car shut down. He started the suv back on & we where fine. 2nd time I was driving on the interstate [XXX] ) when the car shut off & the dashboard displayed "shift to park". I kept control of the car put the emergency lights on & got of the way. Waited a few minutes & the SUV started back took me home the next day I took it to the dealership they replaced the transmission. I got the car back Friday [XXX] drove it home & on Tuesday [XXX] put 93% gas in the car was on my way back on [XXX] . Stopped at a light with my grandson in the car & the car started to shake a little shut off again the dash indicated "shift to park" I turned the car on & off a few times finally after about 5 mins it started & I was on to my destination. At my destination I turned the car on 3 times. Started with out a problem. Got on the road headed back home. At the same spot, the car shut down again for the 3rd time. Dash again stating I need to "shift to park". This is the very dangerous. I had the car towed to the Jeep dealership & there it is waiting on a diagnosis as to what is wrong with my Beautiful 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Please find a way to fix this issue. I dont want to get into a serious car accident because of this crazy issue. thank you. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

One of the recalls for this vehicle is for "2011-2013 wk wd fuel pump relay". The car stalled on the road but I was able to bring it home and apply a temporary fix by connecting the Pump fuse with the Cigarette lighter fuse (per some online instructions). The car runs now, but it's not a permanent fix. I called a Dealer (Everett, WA) and scheduled an appointment (it was two weeks ago). Today during my appointment I was sent back home saying they don't have the part and I'll need to come back in a couple of weeks, just for the inspection! Complete incompetence. I called another place (Kirkland, WA) and was also told that they are ordering the part now but will need to wait from few to several weeks. If this recall makes my car unsafe to drive (stall happened on the road, my solution is not perfect) why are the dealerships/Jeep not taking the repair seriously?

In traffic, in drive, at speed 40 MPH, vehicle shifted automatic transmission to low gear, dropped speed to 10 MPH, every alarm indicator came on, RPMs were in the 6K red line range, was able to pull of the road, engine shut down, was not able to shift, restart, or use key fob functions. Towed to dealer replaced aux battery, replaced TCM valve body assembly. Vehicle mileage 4,380.

While driving at freeway speeds, my vehicle suddenly lost power, creating an immediate and serious safety hazard. I was unable to maintain speed, making it extremely difficult to change lanes safely or keep up with traffic. This put me—and others on the road—at significant risk of an accident. During the incident, the check engine light was flashing continuously. The issue was diagnosed as a failure of the engine rocker, requiring major engine repairs at only 87,000 miles. A critical engine component failing at this mileage is concerning and suggests a potential design or manufacturing defect. I’m filing this complaint to ensure others are not placed in similarly dangerous situations.

I was traveling on the highway at highway speed during peak commuting times when a notice to service hybrid system was displayed on the gauge cluster. The vehicle then lost all acceleration and shut down. I had to safely navigate to the side of the road with zero ability to accelerate or brake in fear of not being able to get off the roadway safely. I was automatically shifted into park once I reached a speed of around 5 mph.

There was a recall for my cars, hybrid electrical system. We were told not to park it in the garage, not to plug it in, etc., for months. That was in the fall of 2024. In December, I had to have my car towed to the dealershipto have regular battery replaced under warranty, and while it was there, Jake Sweeney Jeep, in Cincinnati, allegedly did the recall service. Immediately thereafter, my car started losing power while I was driving, with a message reading, Service hybrid electrical system.“ My car has been back to the dealership four times, I had a Starr case opened with Jeep, and was told that they are aware of the problem, don’t know when it will be fixed, and that I should take the car back home. It has happened when I was driving 65 mph on a highway, complete loss of power, I had to limp over to the shoulder, then back to the dealership. The codes were red, and the technicians said they were aware of it, but had no fix for it. They said they even had some units for sale on their lot with the exact same problem. At this time, Jeep is saying they do not know when They will have a fix for this on the hybrid vehicles. This seems very unsafe to me, because it happens, intermittently, at all different speeds.

As I was driving onto the highway I reached to about 70 mph. The vehicle said “service electric system” on the dashboard and instantly the vehicle lost power and turned off. It then shifted from drive to park without warning as I was still on the highway. I pulled over safely without causing an accident and turned the vehicle completely off.

The transmission went out in October 2024 and was replaced in November 2024. Since then, the valve body has been replaced twice and probably needs to be replaced again. The car does not shift into/out of third gear properly or consistently which causes very delayed acceleration. This is a safety hazard when entering the roadway, especially merging onto the highway. Chrysler is aware of the valve body being “bad” yet continues to “replace” with bad parts.
