Headlights will completely go out at night just at random, sometimes it's only one and sometimes it both completely. Yet the High beams and fog lights will work when activated even when the regular lights will not. Has been an ongoing issue for a while now, and upon talking to other Jeep Grand Cherokee owners of around the same year model they complain that there's do it randomly as well, and I've seen a lot of forums talking about this issue.

My 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ) has experienced repeated safety-related failures. With only 3,169 miles, the vehicle became inoperable shortly after purchase and remained at a Florida dealership for 9 months waiting for parts. The hybrid battery and related components were replaced. After picking up the vehicle, while driving from Florida to North Carolina on [XXX], the Check Engine light came back on. A cooling system failure was diagnosed, which caused critical safety systems to stop functioning: the forward collision warning sensor, radar, and driver-assistance features all became disabled. A technician also discovered that a component requiring nine bolts was fastened with only two, indicating improper repair or assembly and creating a serious safety hazard. I brought the vehicle to AutoStar CDJR in Hendersonville, NC, where additional issues were documented: rattling/thumping noise under the vehicle at highway speeds, wind noise entering through the front windshield, and the Check Engine light still on. The advisor noted in writing that the vehicle had been in the Florida dealership for nine months and now shows new faults. As of December 7, 2025, the vehicle is again in the repair shop. I no longer feel safe driving it. The repeated failures of the hybrid/electrical system, cooling system, and critical safety sensors, along with evidence of improper assembly, represent a significant safety risk. I request that NHTSA investigate these defects, as they appear to indicate a broader safety issue with this model. I received Safety Recall 68C for my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe stating that the high-voltage battery may become damaged during normal operation and could lead to a vehicle fire. FCA instructs owners not to recharge the vehicle and states that no remedy is currently available. In addition to the recall, I am experiencing a major safety issue inside the vehicle. The rear driver-side passenger seat (directly above the high-voltage battery) becomes extremely hot during normal driving, hot enough that my family members cannot sit there comfortably. The heat is abnormal and appears to be coming from the battery area. I have small children who ride in this vehicle, and I no longer feel it is safe to transport them. FCA has no fix for the known battery defect, and the combination of internal heat from the seat and the fire-risk warning significantly impairs the safety and usability of the vehicle. FCA advises owners to avoid charging, but this makes the vehicle unusable for its intended purpose as a plug-in hybrid. I am requesting NHTSA involvement because this appears to be a serious battery overheating and potential fire hazard affecting the passenger cabin. Please investigate. I need guidance, as the manufacturer cannot repair the defect, and I am concerned for the safety of my family. If there’s no cure to this problem, please ask FCA to purchase the vehicle back from me. It’s a three year lease and I have about six months left on it.

I am filing a complaint regarding my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which currently has a high-voltage battery fire-risk recall with no remedy available. This recall states the vehicle should not be parked in garages or near structures due to fire risk. This makes the vehicle unsafe to use as intended. My vehicle has also experienced four total recalls, repeated check-engine warnings, and it was in the service department recently (within the last week) with no mention of the battery recall and no resolution for the ongoing issues. I have attempted to contact my dealership (Fred Beans Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Doylestown, PA) and the General Manager but have received no response for over a week regarding options for a safe loaner vehicle or next steps. The lack of remedy, the safety risk of fire, the inability to safely park or charge the vehicle, and the dealership’s failure to respond place my family at risk and leave the vehicle effectively unusable. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in documenting and escalating this unresolved and hazardous situation.

2 current recalls on my vehicle 68C and 78C are life threatening and the vehicle may catch on fire. Visiting the dealer today 12/6 - there is no solution for either. This vehicle is unsafe and the manufacturer is not providing any solution or alternative. I would expect either a solution/ a loaner or a buyback

Vehicle is subject to Recalls 68C (Fire Risk) and 78C (Loss of Propulsion). Manufacturer states remedy is 'Not Yet Available.' I am instructed not to charge the battery and to park away from structures. I cannot safely park the vehicle at my home or use the electric propulsion I am paying for. The vehicle presents an immediate fire hazard and risk of catastrophic engine failure on public roads.

8/2023 one rear seat belt would no longer retract. The problem was reproduced by the service center and they replaced the rear seat belt. 10/2025 the same rear seat belt would no longer retract and 11/2025 the other rear seat belt would no longer retract. Brought into Jeep dealer and they verified there are no obstructions affecting the seat belt and they are no operating as intended. They replaced both rear seat belts in 12/2025.

Vehicle Purchased 05/27/2025 6/6/2025 - 9 days after purchasing the vehicle i was left stranded in the parking lot due to the battery issues. The vehicle showed a warning stating to "Service Charging System" and the entire system locked out and the vehicle was towed to to the dealer for evaluation and was there for over a week. When I received the car back they stated it was just the battery and not the charging system/hybrid system. 12/03/25 - While driving on the freeway, warning lights started coming up and the seat belt bell started going off even though everyone was buckled. Then my power steering was disabled, the ABS system was disabled and the breaks stiffened, lane assist was disabled, the airbags were disabled, and the SOS calling, and the engine shut off. When trying to change lanes we had to use extreme force to turn the wheel and the emergency lights wouldn't engage when the button was pressed. Due to the brakes being stiff beyond reason it took us passing 3 freeway exits to slow down enough to force the car off of the road. I had my children in the car and was terrified i was going to be in a crash or worse, lose control and veer off of the road. When i was able to pull off of the freeway, I was not able to drive as the car was continuing to shut off every few feet. I had to have my vehicle towed home and they next day when driving it to the dealer it was still without power steering, the ABS system, Airbags, the brake pedal was extremely stiff and the seatbelt bells were going off even though I had my seatbelt on from first getting into the car. Myself, my fiancé and our children's live were put at risk due to this vehicle failure. I picked my car up from the dealer today 12/5/2025 and they advised this was an issue with a connector that was replaced but the entire system had to be reset. I would also like to include that the vehicle now has an open recall that has no remedy and the dealer/Mfr. have yet to provide any updates.

Recall 25V-741 (Manufacturer Recall 68C) affects my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. The recall notice states that, due to potential high-voltage battery cell separator damage, the vehicle may catch fire even when powered off. Jeep instructs owners not to charge the vehicle and not to park inside garages or near structures. There is no remedy available, and Jeep has stated that remedy identification may not occur until Q1 2026, with additional delays expected for parts and repairs. As a result of these instructions, I am unable to store the vehicle safely at my home, since my residence only has attached garage parking. My workplace garage has also prohibited these recalled vehicles from entering due to fire risk. The vehicle is currently kept at the dealership because it cannot be safely stored. Jeep’s interim support is insufficient. They offer only $60/day rental reimbursement, which does not cover a comparable vehicle, and only $50 per rental period in taxes, leaving owners with significant out-of-pocket costs while their leased vehicles cannot be used for an extended period. This places owners in the position of either paying significant out-of-pocket expenses for an unsuitable rental vehicle, or continuing to park, store, or charge their vehicles in ways that contradict Jeep’s fire-risk guidance. While the recall is not labeled as a “stop drive,” the instructions functionally prevent safe use or storage of the vehicle. I am reporting this because the current interim guidance and lack of remedy create ongoing fire risk and practical safety issues for owners with no safe place to store the vehicle and no adequate interim solution.

The car has a strange thump when driving around 70-75. This is always and the dealer says it’s normal, which is not true! This weird thump is now happening at lower speeds and also a weird shuddering at speeds around 25-40. Shudders are more random Also starting at about 8-10,000 miles randomly while driving highway speeds 70-75 the vehicle shudders /vibrates for about 20 seconds and then stops. I do not use lane assist so it’s not that. It feels like when you run over the rumble sticks on the highway but amplified x20. Also since almost purchase I have had several alignments because the car continuously pulls to the left. In Florida the roads crown to the right for rain water run off. If anything the car should pull to the right but it pulls to the left consistently even right after an alignment. Other complaints I’ve made are how unstable and wobbly it drives and this has gotten significantly worse to the point that the ability to maintain control of it on the highway is not pleasant and feels very unsafe Any cat that randomly shudders at highway speeds is not safe And needs to be fixed. However,14 service trips and several manufacturer complaints and still nothing… they promise things and give it a car wash instead. They are not saying much about their own product to tell me it’s running as designed. I’m tired of hearing I can’t duplicate it. Absurd excuse. At this point it’s been very scary at times… so I’m selective with where I use my vehicle. So I’ve been renting when I need to go on the highway. This is costly but at least safer for myself and others. I wish they would just fix the car

- #11702959December 4, 2025ENGINE, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact smelled radiator fumes on the interior of the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated that the coolant reservoir was repeatedly refilled; however, there were no signs of a leak. The contact later became aware that radiator fluid was leaking on the ground underneath the vehicle. The contact performed an inspection of the vehicle and noticed a thick, black sticky substance underneath the EGR valve. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and the dealer became aware of burn marks on the left side of the engine. In addition, the contact was informed that coolant was leaking from several spots. The dealer declined to continue diagnosing the vehicle. The contact was advised to retrieve the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. In addition, the contact stated that the EGR valve and the engine oil cooler were replaced under unknown recalls in 2021. The contact stated that the recall parts only lasted for three and a half years, and the original parts lasted seven years. The contact was informed that the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

My Jeep hybrid is under an active safety recall with no available remedy. The manufacturer has instructed owners not to charge the hybrid battery system, which means the vehicle cannot be used as designed. I am continuing to make loan payments on a vehicle whose primary advertised functionality has been disabled due to a safety defect. I have contacted Jeep/Stellantis repeatedly through their recall assistance lines and have been transferred, disconnected, or told to call numbers that do not resolve the issue. No timeline or interim remedy has been provided. The vehicle is materially impaired, and the lack of a fix poses safety concerns and financial harm to owners. I am requesting NHTSA intervention due to the absence of any manufacturer solution or support.
