The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that an unknown computer had failed and simultaneously made other electrical components fail. The contact stated that the Radio Frequency Hub, Electronic Control Unit, and Body Control Module needed to be replaced. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,100.

In 3 months later that we got the jeep. The seat spring for reclain go off, later 1 year the motor mounts have alot of noise with the change of speed, and the suspension feel horroble, i been driving like that few months like that and we dont know about this page can we report all this issues.

i brought in my car for service and clearly nothing was fixed. i have been having issues with this car for YEARS now and nothing is being repaired at the dealership. I will enclosed back up that i went there and they apparently fixed it but car is still having issues. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.

UConnect media center does not allow hands free operation via BlueTooth wireless connections, UConnect media center has been upgraded (firmware) to use only 5G wireless, Jeep Compass only has build in 4G for Telematics. to achieve hands free a separate cable needs to be connected to the front USB-C connection so that Apple Car Play is available through the UConnect media center, this was confirmed by the UConnect customer service. The presence of a physical cable is detrimental to the safety of the operator and passenger because it needs to be in the front of the cabin (not the rear). When the cable is disconnected from the apple iPhone the connection of the phone to the media center is severed and if a phone call is received or needs to be made, then operator needs to make or take the call manually. The contact stated according to the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL), as of September 2023, 29 U.S. states (plus the District of Columbia) have a ban on using handheld devices for all drivers anytime they are behind the wheel.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that the vehicle was designed with the Auto Stop/Start feature. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, the feature engaged and the engine was turned off; however, the engine failed to restart while attempting to drive from the complete stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the body control module (BCM) was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who informed the contact that the vehicle was operating as designed. The contact later received a call from the manufacturer advising him to take the vehicle back to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with by the Remote Assistance of Jeep engineers, and it was determined that the batteries had low-capacities. The dealer replaced the batteries. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 10,447.

While Auto start stop is active, and when the vehicle comes to a stop the engine stops but then doesn't restart like it's supposed to, the cluster says vehicle needs to be restarted, then after putting shifter into park I can restart the vehicle normally, but this has happened 3 times now at busy intersections causing my vehicle to block traffic when the light turns green. I have to remember to manually turn Auto start stop off everytime I start my vehicle to prevent this from happening or keep my climate turned up since the auto start stop won't engage while cooling or heating the cabin.

The car only has 47,000 miles on it and the steering wheel buttons stopped working, then while the car was off the windshield wipers started going and wouldn’t stop until the battery died, then when the car battery was charged and the car was started the windshield wipers stopped working, the brake lights stopped working and then the signal lights.

On [XXX] I left the Safeway Gas station on [XXX] I came out the parking lot and made a right and stopped at the light. As soon as I stopped, my car cut off. I put my car and park and push the ignition. I press the ignition again to cut it on everything came on but the car would not start. I sat there for two hours before getting a tow at the stop light that changed colors several different times with my anxiety high because cars were honking, people were yelling at me because I was blocking traffic. I could not put my car into a different gear to even push it off to the side of the road. My car was towed to Sacramento Dodge Chrysler Jeep. Later that day, The representative called and told me that they don’t know what is wrong with the car, he’s never seen this happen before and that my car would qualify as a lemon. I’ve placed a request for Jeep to buy back my car the first one was denied, the case manager resubmitted the request and I’ve heard nothing after being told I would be called in 3-4 business days. I’ve called them several times and I’m not hearing anything back. Also, I was not aware of the recall on my car until I came in for the issue on this day. The contact leased a 2023 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that the Navigation screen font was too small. While attempting to adjust the heater and radio, the driver was unable to stay in the lane while utilizing the screen. The Lane Keep Assist started beeping while driving. The contact pulled over to adjust the electrical system. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the contact was informed that the font size could not be enlarged. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. The VIN was not available.

When I turned on my vehicle, I saw about 10 different error messages flash across my dashboard like it was having some sort of exorcism, and then it stopped. No errors were on the dashboard. Everything looked good. I waited a few minutes and my driveway, and then took off for work. As I was making my way out of the neighborhood. I was going about 10 mph, it wasn’t until I pulled out to my neighborhood onto incoming traffic to cross the road that I realized that the gas pedal was not responding and the car was just rolling at like preset 10 mph speed. I hit the gas pedal many times and the car didn’t respond. Thankfully I was able to get in the middle lane to avoid a collision, but it was very scary and I consider this to be a tech defect high severity , I called my dealer and they said it’s gonna be a few hundred dollars to look at it and that’s totally not OK

STEERING
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while stopping at a drive-thru window, the steering wheel began spinning to the left and then to the right independently. The vehicle then suddenly turned right and hit a nearby curb which then made the vehicle turn to the left hitting another curb. The vehicle continued to turn to the left and right, hitting nearby curbs for approximately 4-5 minutes before settling in nearby mulch about 15 feet from the driver through the window, causing the vehicle to stop. The air bags did not deploy. There were no warning lights. The vehicle was towed. A police report was not been filed. All the wheels attached to the vehicle, excluding the front-driver side wheel, had blown. There was no damage to any surrounding properties. The contact received injuries to their chest however no medical attention was needed. The dealer was contacted and they were advised to contact the manufacturer. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and it was confirmed that there were no recalls associated with the VIN. The manufacturer had opened a case regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 4,968.

The backup/reverse camera is extremely dark and unusable at night or in very low light conditions. This makes the backup camera on the infotainment screen unusable at night and therefore very dangerous since you cannot see what is behind the vehicle or if a person is behind the vehicle. I believe this is a software issue with the backup camera and it is not adjusting the iso setting in low light conditions like every other vehicle does on the market.

This was a rental vehicle. My concern is the emergency brake switch. It was accidentally activated by a passenger when they were trying to pickup a coin that had fallen where the switch is located while traveling at 40 mph. The emergency brake immediately engaged and an unsafe condition was encountered. Fortunately, an accident was avoided and we resumed our trip. My concern is a child or passenger can activate the switch in these vehicles where the switch is located in the center console resulting is an accident causing harm or injury. This switch needs a protective cover of some sort or disabled while the vehicle is in motion.

My 23 Jeep Compass engine light came on and it started running rough. Dealer says part of the exhaust valve came off and damaged the piston. Now it needs a new motor. I just purchased it in April 2023. It is now 12/12/23 and I took it to the dealer 11/11/23. This potentially could have happened while I was driving. This is why I believe this is a public safety issue. The engine could have locked up at anytime endangering myself and any passenger. Dealer will not giving a copy of the active work order.

When stopped at a stop sign (on a slight incline, if that could be a factor), the Compass suddenly lost power. No reaction from pressing the gas pedal at all. In Drive or in Reverse. The Check Engine light came on and the temperature gauge went all the way up. Putting it in Park and restarting cleared the Check Engine light and the temperature gauge was right back to normal. Almost like nothing had happened. Thankfully it was a small intersection with no other traffic. But could this happen on the freeway?

Good evening, My name is [XXX] , I live in Boca Raton, FL, USA, and own a new car: Jeep 2022 Compass Lattitude VIN [XXX] . I report a serious safety hazard that can cause a crash injury or death that needs to be investigated and corrected. On Thursday, November 9 2023 I picked up my car from Arrigo Chrysler Jeep Autodealer located at 2250 FL-7, Margate, FL 33063 where my car was present for 13 (thirteen) days for the following service: a replacement of lost/stolen car keys. On the way from the Autodealer, my car started to push forward and back on the road when I pressed the acceleration pedal. The following signs immediately switched on: "Service Transmission", "Stop/Start System", "Tire pressure". I was able to immediately drive back to the Arrigo Chrysler Jeep Auto dealer. When I was returning an unsafe car, they reported to me: "an issue with the transmission", but have not clarified the code nor explained it to me. This accident on the road put me in fear for my life and I started to feel very anxious. I could not concentrate on the road. As of today, November, 30 my car is still present at the Arrigo Chrysler Jeep Auto dealer at 2250 FL-7, Margate, FL 33063 and I am not aware of what issue put my life and the life of my son in danger. I initiated contact with an auto dealer via email two (2) times: on November, 15 and November, 27, and have never received a response. Instead, today, November 30, 2023 at 5:43 pm I received a voicemail from Enterprise-Rent-A-Car that “I am set up by Arrigo Auto Dealership to return a rental car" that was provided to me on November 9, 2023, at a time when I drop off broken car. An issue with a brand new car that my family is going through and that I am making payments for is not acceptable to me or to any customers in the USA. I request to investigate the serious safety hazard defect of the car Jeep Compass 2022 that put my family's life in danger. Sincerely, [XXX] .
