On [XXX] I was driving my vehicle and the vehicle stopped moving. The vehicle panel did not display any warning lights. My vehicle had to be towed to my residency. I have attached a copy of the information from my insurance company State Farm regarding the towing expense. 2016-2017 Hyundai Tucson have a current recall for engine failure the same failure the 2014 has. I will like to have an explanation why my vehicle has not been recalled. Please see the link below for other owners of the same make, year and model with the same issues. When pulling out of my driveway onto street, I lost acceleration. My vehicle would not go oer 35 mph and the RPMs were revving up too 5000 without speed moving. I tried changing the drive mode to fix it, that did not help. I pulled over,s topped the car and restarted and all seemed normal. This has happened 2 other times since I bought the car. The other 2 times was while i was on the interstate the engine stopped engaging and i could not accelerate. Both times the issue corrected itself by the time I could get safely out of traffic. This is a major accident concern as there is no warning before this happens.

On March 13, 2023 while I was driving at about 70 mph on PA route 66, the engine suddenly stalled and fortunately, I was able to move to the emergence lane. I turned off the power and restarted the engine, and it worked. This is the third time that I have experienced the same issue, with other two on I-376. I also couldn't start the engine after refilling gas, so I had to wait for about 15 minutes. I took the car to a dealership but the diagnosis did not show any problem. There was not error code at all. On the internet, several possibilities were mentioned, but I do not have any idea about the root cause.

I purchased this vehicle from an acquaintance, who had it serviced by a local mechanic. Before I decided to buy it, I spoke with the mechanic he used, as well as calling the dealer with the vin number to verify that the recall issues had been taken care of. It was purchased around 9/19/2022 per the title. I change the oil and rotate the tires every 3000 miles. Checking the oil weekly to see if it needs filling.I was attending an outdoor music show about 120 miles away. After leaving and not getting more than 20miles from the venue late that evening, my car with no indication slowed down and thankfully with not as much traffic I was able to pull to the side of the highway. The car would not turn over. I heard no noises when this occurred, nor did I smell anything, it just it quit working. It was late when the car was towed to S&B Automotive in Bridgewater. I had to wait for a ride and didn’t get home till early morning. When I contacted the place where it was towed, they said I needed a new engine at $6,000.00. I drained my bank account to pay for this 2011 Hyundai Tucson. So I could not have it repaired and was not aware of the recall and still never received the recall notice to this day. Just the one regarding the key issue and class action suit. If I had known that there was a recall on this vehicle I would have had it towed to the dealership for the repair and then traded it in for another vehicle other than a Hyundai. I was forced to take out an unwanted loan in order to purchase another vehicle. This vehicle although well maintained has too many issues. I still have the title as I inadvertently gave the automotive company the wrong title. I want to be compensated for the full blue book value of this vehicle.

I have a Hyundai Tuscon 2019, which was pre-certified by Hyundai. This particular car was part of a lawsuit because of a knock sensor issue. The lawsuit information is here: [XXX] The knock sensor failing is not really what causes the safety issue. The engine symptoms when the sensor fails is the issue. The engine goes into "safety mode" which limits the car to a significant slower speed. The problem is that Hyundai has now tried to fix this issue twice on my vehicle, and the knock sensor continues to fail. To be clear, they've replaced the sensor twice. Based on the lawsuit, the court mandated them to fix the knock sensor. They have done that free of charge, but the sensor continues to fail. To me this sounds like a manufacture issue. It is incredibly dangerous when you're on a highway and the sensor fails. It happened to me, and it was almost catastrophic. The car slowed down and there is nothing you can do about it. I noticed there was something wrong very quickly and put my hazards on. If I didn't, I may not be writing you here. You could easily get into a significant accident, and from that could lead to injury or loss of life. I am asking for a review of this. I have my service records as well as recorded conversations with Hyundai corporate regarding this issue. Service records are attached. I live very close to NHTSA HQ and willing to come in if necessary. To me, this is concerning enough for that.. We experienced engine failure of a 2013 Hyundai Tucson on 2/20/24. There were no warning lights displayed on the instrument panel. There was an unidentified noise and a loss of power/compression. We are in the process of learning the difference between a Service Campaign and a Recall Notification and I can’t say we understand it yet. We were not notified nor aware of potential engine failure issues. The research we’ve been able to obtain regarding Service Campaign 966 (“SC966”) appears to exclude the 2013 Tucson model unless it has a Theta II engine. The service department at Dick Smith Hyundai stated that if we would have had our car serviced at the dealership, we would have been informed of SC966. As we are the second owner of an eleven-year-old vehicle, we do not typically have it serviced at a dealership. Oddly enough, we received a notification regarding the knock sensor on 3/18/24 almost one month after we contacted Hyundai Customer Support and after the vehicle was towed to Dick Smith dealership and we spoke with the service department. We have been informed by the local dealership (Dick Smith Hyundai service department) that it is unlikely that the engine will be replaced under the Hyundai Class Action Lawsuit, or any open Recalls and it will be 2-4 months before a decision is rendered regarding the matter. We are also being charged a diagnostic fee for their services of approximately $200.00. Regardless of the recall coverage, our experience with this vehicle engine seems to mimic the exact same symptoms and issues as the Make/Models that are included in the published Recall notice by Kia/Hyundai, and we would like to make this known to protect other consumers and to see if there is any recourse and/or assistance for us.

While driving, the engine completely lost power and was unable to go more than a couple MPH. We had it towed to the dealer and they told us it was a common issue on Hyundai engines and the fix was to replace the entire engine. It is available for inspection. Safety was compromised because we were in traffic when the power failed. Yes, we had the dealer confirm it. The only prior warning was that oil consumption was very high, which the dealer also confirmed is common.

This make an model has issues with the doors not opening, when they are unlocked and from time to time the windows will not open. These are both huge safety concerns. I have reported this to Hyundai and have a case number 2104500 which nothing has been done and I have heard nothing in over a year. This make and model need to be recalled for the door and window issues which are all over the internet when a search is done.

On March 9, 2024, I was driving when suddenly a warning light sounded from the dashboard that the engine "overheated" and there's a loss of power. I was very scared driving for the first time in my life. Before I pulled over to a safe place, a driver nearest to my car pulled his window down and shouted that my car was smoking. I was terrified. This incident triggered my husband's mental health conditions. I called my niece who is a registered nurse to help us. I called my car insurance for towing to the next dealership that I called about what happened. After I rented a car, I went to the dealership. However, the Service Department was closed after 4:00 pm. The next day (Monday), I received text messages that they're working on my car and the only communication was "text messages." I was stunned! The next message was transmission problem, the cost of repairing it, and authorization to fix at $1,581.40. Because my rental car was not cheap and needed a car to doctors and other appointments made on that week, I agreed to proceed. After I signed the authorization from text messages, I got a call from a service advisor to acknowledge the cost of the repair. I asked about the engine and he said it's okay. By Wednesday afternoon, I received a call that my car was done. Before this incident (2 weeks?), I called the same dealership when it's time for an oil change, but was told at 72,000 miles. Then I received a call that my car needs a transmission check up for $1,200 or more, but I told him I'll wait for the next oil change. Last year, I reported to other dealership that my engine light was on, but was told to go to Autozone. I didn't do it because the light didn't appear again. My car has been maintained by local dealership since I bought it in 2016. One dealership would not pick up my calls after fixing the side door locked from inside/outside. As this is not a traffic related incident, my car insurance doesn't want to be involved.

Transmission wouldn’t shift. Tried to accelerate from stopping at a stop sign and car wouldnt get up to speeds. Car shuttered when it tried to. The auto shut off light turned orange. No codes or check engine light came on. Shut car off and turned on and problem went away. Nobody has inspected it as it has not reproduced the problem. Several online forums state that I am not the only one to have this issue. Luckily this didnt happen on the highway otherwise that would have been very dangerous trying to merge on a highway.
