At ~80,000 miles on the odometer, the vehicle began exhibiting stiff/unresponsive steering at highway speeds. Specifically, when driving on a level plane in a straight line, the driver's attempts to correct drifts in direction by turning the steering wheel elicit no immediate feedback from the steering rack. This, in turn, forces the driver to exert greater steering effort via the steering wheel that, in turn, leads to a sudden and somewhat dramatic reaction from the steering rack. At best, this is annoying and increases driver fatigue on long trips. At worst, it creates a steering overreaction that could result in rollover or collision. Symptoms are identical to the steering rack malfunctions described in the recall for 2022-2023 models of the Honda Civic. The numbers of complaints appear to be relatively high and consistent with steering rack issues that date back to 2016 and persist through the 2022-2023 models. NHTSA would be well within its regulatory authority to order Honda to initiate a recall for this flaw.

- #11580990April 3, 2024STEERING, SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Purchased November 2023 not even 1 week warning lamps, messages / adaptive cruise control, road departure mitigation, brake systems, failure lights alarming at the same time. Took to dealer cleared sensors. A matter of days alarms going off again. Call dealer they want to keep vehicle for diagnostic. When they did diagnostic it was another problem. They repair guy also mentioned not to apply E-brake. He said their is a possibility that it may completely lock. I will be taking vehicle to another dealership for 2nd opinion.

- #11580981April 3, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
While driving on a city street at about 25 to 30 MPH with no cars or people in front of me and on a clear day, my Civic's Collision Mitigation Braking System flashed "Brakes" on my heads up display and at the same time, it forcefully applied the brakes without me touching the brake pedal. This has happened to me at least twice in six weeks. In both instances, I tried to press on the gas pedal, but it did not let up on the brakes right away. I was nearly rear-ended by other cars both times, putting me and others at risk. I took the car to the dealership, and they told me they couldn't find any issues or codes, nor could they replicate the problem.

- #11580910April 3, 2024STEERING, AIR BAGS, SUSPENSION
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at 56 MPH, the steering wheel independently shifted to the left as the contact lost control of the vehicle. Due to the failure, the contact swerved back and forth in an attempt to regain control of the vehicle; as a result, the contact hit several highway median divider poles. The air bags did not deploy during the failure. The contact sustained minor back and shoulder pain but did not seek medical attention. A police report was filed. Upon inspection of the vehicle, the contact discovered that the rear passenger side tire was damaged and had leaned inward toward the axle. Despite the failure, the contact managed to drive the vehicle home at a low rate of speed. The next day, the vehicle was towed to an independent body shop to repair the front-end damage to the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V704000 (Steering). A dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Civic. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while attempting to slow down or turn the vehicle to the left or the right, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power, and started to decelerate quickly. The engine also experienced a misfire while attempting to accelerate. The contact stated that the vehicle ran rough and consumed an excessive amount of fuel. There were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer was contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 62,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

- #11580719April 2, 2024POWER TRAIN
The contact owns a 2014 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 15 MPH, the driver's side tire rolled over the curb and the vehicle began to vibrate and shake. The contact stopped the vehicle and confirmed that there was nothing underneath the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to exceed 15 MPH. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with a transmission failure. The independent mechanic stated that while test-driving the vehicle, the vehicle stopped, and was towed back to the mechanic shop. The vehicle was then towed to the residence where another independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with the same failure. The contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V574000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

Cvt transmission failure which Honda is known for. I have a small child and this poses a risk to both as we were driving when it first happened. Honda needs to recall the cvt transmission and do right by its faithful customers and not charge $8000 to fix the problem.

The steering on my car is sticky/notchy feeling. I took my car in for the steering rack recall and it was not on the list. This is a different issue but my steering feels extra sticky and hard to turn. My car is getting repaired under warranty now but I have to wait 5+ months for parts.

Around 10 to 15 minutes of driving steering begins to stick. Takes extra effort to turn or do micro corrections while going in a straight line. Sticking steering is worse at higher speeds. When the steering does release it makes the car noticeably move to one side.

Vehicle has a little over 100,000 miles on it. Issue started happening on and off starting at ~85k miles. Steering will resist/stick when making small adjustments while driving on a straight road or a wide curve causing overcorrection. The amount of sticking seems to vary depending on the amount of time driven and the temperature outside. Potentially dangerous (and extremely annoying) because it happens seemingly at random and is the amount of force to correct the steering is unpredictable. Sometimes it stick hard, sometimes it sticks a small amount, and sometimes it sticks none. Sometimes the car has to be swerved to be kept straight in the lane after breaking out of one of the sticking fits. It resets every time the wheel is straightened back into the 12 o'clock position and there is no way to know if the next time the wheel is moved it will do it again. Happens at all speeds but is most noticeable when going 55+ mph. This issue isn’t able to photographed obviously so here is a good video showing the exact issue (while the vehicle is stopped.) Video is not mine. [XXX] I have seen dozens and dozens of other instances of this happening from others online on Reddit, forums and YouTube videos. The cost to replace is ridiculous at $2,000-$4,000 for the entire rack and eps. I am going to take the car into a dealership to be looked at soon. Most instances I have seen, Honda refuses to cover or even recognize this issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Honda fuel pump had a recall back in 2020-2021, which was replaced months after. Now, two years later my car has completely stalled out on me in the middle of driving, not once but TWICE. In the middle of the road. Both incidents happened when I had gas in my car, full battery, etc. and would not turn on until again (both times) until I manually put gas in it. Accelerating is extremely weak, engine is sputtering constantly. Brought it to Commonwealth Honda after the first incident, no answers. After having this happen a second time, i brought it back a second time. I was told there is nothing they can do as they can't see the car stalling in person. I have reiterated to both technicians and management that this car is NOT safe to drive due to a faulty fuel pump, and I am being told tough luck. I would like this problem and these incidents documented in the event I do end up getting injured from this faulty part they are refusing to fix. It has happened two times in the last month, and i'm sure it won't be the last.

- #11580533April 1, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:ANTILOCK:ABS WARNING LIGHT
The contact's parent owns a 2016 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while the parent was parking into a parking space, and straightening the steering wheel; the brake pedal depressed but the vehicle continued to drive. Several warning messages were displayed "Vehicle Stability Assist Problem", "Power System Steering Problem", "Hill Start Assist Problem", "Emissions Systems Problem", "Brake Hold System Problem", and "Brake System Problem". The driver noticed that the brake pedal failed to respond and the vehicle rapidly accelerated, causing the vehicle to crash into two medians and crash into a parked and unoccupied Ford Edge vehicle at unknown speeds. The stationary vehicle was pushed halfway out of the parking spot. No air bags deployed, and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was unknown if the vehicle was diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

There is a short in the BCM (body control module). This causes massive parasitic drain on my battery of over an amp (roughly 1.2 amps typically). I have to pull the fuse for it (fuse 18 in the engine bay fuse box) every time I leave my car off for more than a couple hours. I'm extremely worried this short is going to cause either a fire or one of the important functional systems of my car to stop working while I'm driving. I have read MANY other reports of this happening to other 2017 Honda Civics yet Honda hasn't done anything about it.

The steering wheel feels funny and weird, sometimes stuck and wandering. the car doesn't feel secure driving with this problem. I took it to Honda Dealer service but they said there are no recalls for this car and my car has 20K only.

When going straight for a period of time down the road at speeds above 40mph or so, and the needing to make a slight right or left adjustment to the steering, it feels as though steering sticks momentarily and requires more effort to make a steering adjustment. This is scary and not right. So far, the Honda dealership where I purchased the vehicle as a certified pre-owned car has said there is nothing wrong with the steering. This definitely seems like a safety issue and something Honda needs to issue a recall for. I don't feel the car is safe for my wife to drive or for my kids to ride in.
