Before performing normal diagnostics, inspect connectors C1273C (32 pin) and C406 (14 pin) for proper connection. Also disconnect and inspect C1415 (32 pin), C406 (14 pin), C4863 (7 pin) and C4864 (5 pin) for signs of water intrusion and/or corrosion. Refer to the Wiring Diagram for connector locations. SummarySome F-Super Duty and F-150 vehicles equipped with trailer tow mirror may exhibit various exterior rear view mirror functional concerns that require replacement after diagnosis. To properly determine if the defect is warrantable, cleaning and close inspection of the affected mirror may be required. To aid in proper warranty determination, the Rear-View Mirror Analysis general service bulletin (GSB) has been updated with a detailed cleaning procedure that should be followed prior to any inspection. New labor operations (17682ZZ or 17682ZZT) have been created that covers the cleaning and inspection process and may be used even if condition of failure is non-warrantable. Ford has inspected numerous returned parts and determined many cases are caused by damage which is unwarrantable and may be subject to chargeback. Refer to the latest version of the GSB on OASIS.

This may be due to a wiring chafe on harness 14406 near connector C146 touching the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler on the right side of the engine. Before performing normal diagnostics, inspect 20 amp fuse F18 (position 26). If fuse F18 is found open, inspect the 14406 harness for contact with the EGR cooler and repair as necessary. Refer to Wiring Diagram, Cell 005 for repair procedures. If no damage is found, refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303-08A for normal diagnostics.

SummarySome 2021-2023 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may exhibit the navigation feature in the center display screen only displaying imperial units and not being able to change to metric. This may be due to the software level of the SYNC module (APIM). This issue does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition and will be released via Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) expected in September 2023. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicles settings. Schedule a service visit for customers who have disabled vehicle connectivity or who report that they did not receive the update in September 2023. Monitor OASIS for additional information.

This may be due to the wiring harness or electrical tape contacting the cooling fan. Remove the WACM and inspect for contact between the wiring harness and the WACM cooling fan. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 414-06. If contact is found, reroute the wiring harness away from the WACM cooling fan to eliminate the noise. Use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of OASIS to submit a report with photos attached (if possible) if contact is found between the wiring harness and the fan.

This may be due to a faulted graphics interface processor (GIP) in the IPC module. If a vehicle exhibits this condition, use the Ford Diagnostic and Repair System (FDRS) to determine if the GIP is communicating. To confirm GIP communication, start a session with the vehicle using FDRS. From the Vehicle Info tab, select IPC. Under Module Details, if device identification (DID) F120 indicates Null, the GIP is faulted, and the IPC module (base part number: 10849) requires replacement. Do not replace the IPC display for this condition. For claiming, use causal part 10849 and M-time.

U211B:87 should be ignored if: no other DTCs are present, no warning indicators are illuminated while the engine is running and no noticeable symptoms are present. No further service action is required.
