Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles built on or before 22-Feb-2022 may experience a false alarm activation event with a trailer connected and/or a U0143:87 stored in the trailer module (TRM). Vehicles that exhibit a false alarm activation may also display a Security System Detected A Trailer Disconnect message in the FordPass app. This may be due to various software parameters in the TRM. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the TRM, driver door module (DDM) and the passenger door module (PDM).

This article supersedes TSB 22-2069 to update the Service Procedure. Some 2021 F-150 and Mustang Mach-E vehicles may exhibit various driver assistance system warning messages or inoperative features and/or diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) U3000:49, U3000:89, U2107:68, C1001:54 and/or C1001:78. DTC B1578:78 may also set after an image processing module A (IPMA) on-demand self test is performed. This may be due to software in the IPMA. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the IPMA to the latest level.

Summary
Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E and F-150 customers may report experiencing a Ford Power-Up software update failure message via the vehicle display and/or FordPass. In addition, some technicians may experience the inability to update the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) or telematics control unit (TCU) using the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) and Universal Serial Bus (USB) drive. It may also be observed on the PTS - Over The Air (OTA) dashboard that multiple APIM and/or TCU updates have failed, or a no OTA history message is displayed. This may be due to a internal software error. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to recover the APIM/TCU.

Summary
Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost engine and built on or before 31-Jan-2021 may experience an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostics trouble codes (DTCs) P04F0 And/Or P04EE stored in the PCM. This may be due to the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor becoming unseated from it's mount on the evaporative (EVAP) tube that connects to the top of the fuel pump and sender unit, causing an EVAP system leak near the top of the fuel tank. If the sensor is found to be unseated, resecure the sensor by pressing the sensor down vertically and retest. If the concern is resolved, the 9D683 assembly needs to be replaced due to the sensor retainers becoming weak. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303-13D. For claiming, use causal part 9D683 and applicable labor operations in Section 09 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

This may be due to the configuration in the gateway module (GWM). To correct the condition, download and run the GWM - Gateway Module A Configuration app using the latest version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). For claiming, use causal part 14G490 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

This may be due to a low amount of seal extrusion pressure provided by the rear window glass sliding rail and/or the rear window glass sliding panel defroster wire harness vibrating between the two panels of glass. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to install the rear window glass sliding panel service kit.

Certain 2022 Model Year Expedition/Navigator, 2021-2022 Model Year F-150 and Mach-E Vehicles Equipped with Ford Co-Pilot and BlueCruise - BlueCruise Maps Expiration. In some of the affected vehicles, the Connected Blue Zone Maps will expire on March 14, 2022. When the maps expire the BlueCruise with hands-free highway driving feature will no long be available. Unsold vehicles that are in transport mode or on dealer lots are unable to receive an over the air update containing the updated maps.

This concern may be from the evaporator freezing up due to the evaporator temperature sensor being biased. Summary
Some 2021 F-150/Mustang Mach-E vehicles may display OTA Update Not Successful messages on the vehicle's center touchscreen. Also, when a software update is being performed on the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) using the FDRS, the center touchscreen may not indicate the APIM software is downloading when plugging a USB drive into the vehicle. This may be due to an APIM software concern. Inform customers that Ford is currently working on a solution for this condition that is to be released via the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) in March 2022. Inform the customer that they can continue to drive the vehicle and only need to schedule a follow-up appointment if they are still experiencing the OTA Update Not Successful message in April 2022 or if the APIM is not able to be updated via the FDRS. Monitor OASIS for updates.
