When set to high speed the wipers after a brief period will "slow down to protect the wiper motor" or something, creating a situation where in even mild rain the car forces the wipers to slow down making it unsafe. Clearly... Ford has severely under spec'd the wiper motor/gearbox hardware and "fixed" it with software making the vehicle unsafe where it will just randomly decide that high speed wiper's are not available anymore.

While driving in heavy rain/snow, the windshield wipers will slow down or stop altogether until the wiper speed is changed manually. This occurs at any speed setting - intermittent, slow, fast. Very hazardous having to constantly manually vary the wiper speed to keep them operating. Ford says that this is a feature intended to protect the wiper motor from excessive load. Ford is trying to reinvent the wheel and has created an unsafe condition.

I have driven multiple times in the rain and when using the wipers, they slow down almost to a crawl impairing visibility. It doesn't matter what setting they are on, they slow down to the point that I am unable to see. I have to manually restart the wiping process each time, but the problem persists. It happens on all settings. It gets to the point that I don't feel safe driving it sometimes.

At the top 2 wiper speeds, the windshield wipers will slow down to speeds where I am unable to see. It’s extremely dangerous, especially at faster driving speeds.

The vehicle's wiper kept slowing down to a very very slow pace no matter what setting it was on. It caused the wipers to become so low it was ineffective in the rain and required constant changing of setting to reset, but would slow again in a minute or so. I was driving in the rain at highway speed and rain buildup caused me to exit the highway and drive on slower roads and even then visibility was hard to keep due to the problem keeping rain off the windows. There were no alerts, no warnings, no signs.

The new Bronco has "smart wipers", this is what I have been told from the dealership. The when wipers are on constant Medium or High speed, after about 45 sec to 1 minute, the wipers resort to a slow intermittent feature. This happened to me during a very heavy rain on the morning of 2/8/23. This was a huge safety issue! When my wipers stopped on me this morning, I almost ran off the road due to the inability to see- super heavy rain. After researching this issue, it is a very large, wide spread issue that many Bronco owners are experiencing. There are no warning lights, nor did the dealership say anything about this issue when I purchased the Bronco- 5 days ago. This needs to be a recall to replace the wiper motor to a standard motor and not a "smart motor". I have owned many fords and this is the only one that I have owned that has this issue.

Ford Bronco windshield wipers do not maintain the fastest wiper settings. Troubleshooting: I put my bronco wipers in the two highest settings indicated by an up arrow and a double up arrow. The wipers started at max speed, then dropped down to a slower speed after a few minutes, Then back down to an intermediate speed. To resolve the issue, I had to adjust the wiper speed to a lower level, then immediately back to a higher level. But this is just a temporary fix and the wiper will again slow down.

- Place windshield wiper switch to continuous (second from fastest setting) - Continuous wipers make 25 full wipes of windshield then cut back to slower setting - I have tested and repeated this more than 10 times — it happens around 90% of the time the wipers are in continuous mode

The wipers will slow down or stop even during heavy rain and on a constant setting (not an intermittent setting). I have to turn the switch on and off to get them to wipe continuously which is very dangerous during torrential rains.

** NOTE: THIS COMPLAINT HAS BEEN CORRECTED! FORD AND DEALER REPLACED WIPER MOTOR AND ISSUE IS RESOLVED. THIS WAS REPORTED TO NHTSA FOR UPDATE PURPOSES" . . . NHTSA ID Number: 11498595 Incident Date December 22, 2022 Consumer Location ROME, NY Vehicle Identification Number 1FMDE5BH4NL**** Summary of Complaint The wipers will slow down when operating at low, high, or intermittent. Ford claims these are "Smart Wipers" I believe there is an issue that requires a feature correction or re-flash of the related program to correct. I have to continually adjust the wiper control knob to re-set the wipers to the proper speed.

My windshield wipers just slow and go into intermittent all on there own when it’s still pouring outside. No warning lights come on. Pouring down rain, I turn them on, they work fine for a few minutes then stop to a 3-5 second intermittent speed. I have to keep turning off and on to get them to work. Very scary while driving. Significant reduction in visibility. Needs to be addressed. Happens almost every time I use the wipers.

The wipers contol has 6 settings, off, intermittent (1,2,3), low speed continuous, high speed continuous. When in the low continuous the wipers will automatically (I did not touch anything) change to intermittent. To get them back to continuous you have to switch off/on or high/low. In even moderate rain you are blind for a second while you fiddle with the controls. www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/wiper-control-speed-issues-urgent-safety.31809 is a Blog containing over 14 months of Bronco owners complaining about this issue. I experienced it this morning at 04:00 driving in the rain. Got scary for a minute as I thought my wipers failed. My Bronco is new, only 900 miles on it.

I am part of a large number of individuals ~200+ documented experiencing scraping noises in our 7 speed manual transmissions. Most of us can't get service done due to part supply issues and labor shortages. The bigger concern is FORD is replacing same parts that are being damaged which doesn't address the root cause of the issue and its not solving problem because it comes back shortly after service. The noise is mostly only heard in temps below 50*f per FORD TSB 22-2371. People are complaining that regardless of new transmissions and TSB service the noise still comes back while most of us are waiting months to even get the repairs performed. There has been no official resolutions. The noise is a safety concern in that if the transmission fails a bronco filled with a family could be stuck in a dangerous situation unable to move the vehicle in gear on the highway or similar situation along with these are brand new people complaining day 1 they bring these 7 speed manual transmission models home on 21s, 22's and now 23's. FORD just keeps sending them to customers with same defective transmissions we have and the problem is growing quickly also since it is winter and more are out there the number is growing quicker. I have tons of videos, documentation and a community of 200 plus individuals who own 7MT Broncos with the issue. I have spreadsheets from the community of builds and user names as well as photos of internal damage and reports of noise coming back. Very good documentation. please take this seriously. While driving in mild rain the wipers when set on low or high speed will slow down and stop then start up after a short period of time. Visibility was severely limited, want the low and high speed to be manual control, no automation. This is not safe!

While the windshield wipers are in the low setting, after about 50 seconds they automatically change to a slow intermittent setting. After they are changed on the switch to either high or intermittent and back to slow, they work for another 50 seconds and do automatically change to a slow intermittent again. This is hazardous having to pay attention to the windshield wiper switch during heavier rain.

When I have the wipers set on normal speed, they will swipe about 25 times then slow to intermittent. I then have to switch to high speed setting and back to normal to get them to stay on at steady normal speed. Repeating this over and over. This is happening during a rain. The wipers are needed and the windshield is not dry. i tried one time to leave on high speed setting for awhile, then switched to normal speed. They worked this time until I restarted the Bronco the next morning, then back dropping in speed to the intermittent setting. I have looked this up and there are several people experiencing this condition. I have also taken to dealership, which they have contacted the hotline and are being told that does not have rain sensing wipers. So not sure what to do next. But it is dangerous and if driving in a rain, having to switch the switch on and off is distracting. I am afraid that they may just completely working. I have owned this Bronco for about 4 weeks.

Wipers will not stay on in “low” mode. They seem to revert back to a very slow/intermittent mode. Very dangerous in heavy rain or snow.
