The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH after a vacation, there was an abnormal ticking sound coming from the vehicle, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull into a truck stop. The vehicle stalled and restarted but eventually shut off. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer retrieved codes indicating that an engine replacement was needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and filed a case. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

- #11663436May 28, 2025EXTERIOR LIGHTING
We were driving our 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe (purchased Dec 2020; odometer currently right under 40,000 miles) out of town this past weekend and I noticed the headlights were not illuminating the road ahead very well once the sun went down. They seemed like they were pointed down and when i turned on the high beams, those were also lower than how the low beams are usually pointed. We were stuck in the middle of nowhere and I persevered with low lighting onto our destination. After researching the issue on the internet days later, I found a Tahoe Owners' forum/thread [XXX] ) where several other 2021 Tahoe owners had experienced the exact same issue as ours had. The culprit appears to be a sub-component of the headlight adjuster mechanism, but GM/Chevrolet does not offer a replacement for either this small white plastic piece that is failing and the only repair option they have for this issue is complete replacement of the entire headlamp assembly ($1,350 MSRP). This is a dangerous problem that occurred randomly on a vehicle with low mileage and appears to potentially be a common failure for other owners of the same headlamp design. I have not taken this vehicle into the dealership for inspection, as I expect they will only replace the entire headlamp assembly for $$$$. - #11662991May 25, 2025STEERING, ENGINE, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
The vehicle is making a loud ticking noise which leads me to suspect this car has similar, if not the same issue as the 21-24 recalled L87 6.2 engines. I took it in the first time, they couldn’t reproduce the noise but I already have video documented footage over a few days with the sound of knocking/ticking from the motor. After they did an early oil change at the same mileage I brought the vehicle in for diagnosis, the sound completely went away. A few hundred miles later the sound has come back and the engine is knocking at idle. I have another inspection/ appointment this coming week for the vehicle. Additionally, the vehicle makes loud noises from the steering column after it has been turned off. It also seems to wander when driving the vehicle and the steering wheel assists cause the wandering within lane. It is very unsafe to drive this vehicle due to these two issues.

I took my car into the Fowler Chevrolet (AKA Century Chevrolet) Dealership in Broomfield, Colorado to get the engine recall addressed for my 2023 Chevy Tahoe-RST. I was told GM doesn't have a solution and has not sent any parts to the dealerships to deal with the recall. This is a significant safety issue/concern since I drive my [XXX] daughter every day in this vehicle. How is an OEM like GM allowed to get away with not having an immediate fix available to such a significant safety issue where an engine just fails and could fail without any warning lights on a highway. Extremely dangerous and nerve racking to drive this vehicle knowing there is this safety recall. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6

Feels like the transmission is slipping. When I step on the gas it makes a jerking/ tugging motion like its pulling backwards and feels as though it has no power. It’s gotten progressively worse now over 10k miles and I should not have any engine problems with a new car. This happens every time I drive it. The problem is not fixing itself it’s getting worse by the day.

My 2023 Tahoe with 76,000 miles went into limp mode and activated an engine light. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and had the code P0747 which is pressure control solenoid A is stuck on. The dealership technician is recommending a valve body replacement to repair this problem. This is a known problem by General Motors and has extended it to the 2022 models only. This is a safety concern that is causing rough irregular shifting, and a engine light to occur.

- #11662220May 20, 2025VISIBILITY/WIPER
While driving in a rainstorm on a highway at 70mph, the windshield wipers quit working and would not restart. This has happened on multiple occasions and the dealer could not recreate the issue. Visibility was virtually zero, creating a very unsafe situation. The condition corrected itself after multiple ignition cycles and several minutes being pulled over on the side of the highway.

Faulty valve body Safety was put at risk, I was traveling on a 4 lane road at 45 mph when my vehicle experienced a significant jump in RPM with immediate loss of propulsion. I immediately drove to the dealership as the incident was frightening. The vehicle was also not able to go into reverse. This valve body failure issue has been confirmed by the GM Chevy Dealership, and GM corporate executive services. My vehicle has been undriveable and at the dealership since 3/4/25. This is a known issue with GM, parts are not available and are back ordered with no ETA on when they will be available. Even with a replaced valve body it is likely the vehicle will have future transmission issues &/ additional valve body failure. Please strongly consider a recall related to this known issue and safety concern.

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 40 MPH, the "Service Stabili-trak Soon" message was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine and the contact's husband pulled over and restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that after the vehicle was restarted, the failure persisted. The contact's husband pulled into a gas station and called an independent mechanic. The mechanic advised the contact's husband to safely drive the vehicle home and to then take the vehicle to his shop the next day for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was driven to the independent mechanic and was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that cylinders #1 and #7 were not functioning as needed. The contact was then informed that the engine lifters needed to be repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and parts were ordered to repair the vehicle. The vehicle remained in the possession of the mechanic and was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 75,400.

- #11661268May 15, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, ENGINE
On April 25th, 2025 we were taking our kids to their after school activities when the SUV started to shake, and accelerate very fast by barely pushing the gas pedal, the ETS light along with the forward collision warning also appeared on the dashboard along with the check engine light. This prompted my husband to get our vehicle towed to the nearest shop close to the street where our vehicle started having problems. After several days of diagnostics the shop let us know our vehicle needed the following repairs: Bank One lifters replacement, head gasket service, and a water pump replacement, we ok'd the repairs. Although these components were replaced, we were informed on May 15, 2025, that the vehicle continues to misfire and now requires a camshaft replacement as well. The total cost of the repair has now risen from $5,182.16 to $13,549.79, which is a significant financial burden as the vehicle is just outside of warranty coverage. We are aware that there is an active recall covering similar issues for 2021–2024 Chevrolet Tahoes equipped with 6.2L engines. However, our 5.3L engine model is experiencing the same mechanical failures, including misfires, knocking noises, low RPM idling, and performance degradation. There is growing evidence that the valve lifter issues are not limited to the 6.2L engine variant. Our experience—and the experiences of others reported online—suggests that the 5.3L L84 engine may also suffer from the same design or manufacturing flaws. We respectfully urge NHTSA to investigate whether this issue warrants expanding the scope of the existing recall to include the 5.3L engine models, and we ask that GMC/General Motors be encouraged to provide assistance. Given the severity and known pattern of these issues, we believe GMC should cover at least 75% of the repair costs, or ideally, offer to perform the repair at no charge. Thank you for your time and consideration.

- #11661122May 15, 2025FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Check engine light comes on. Car suddenly stalls and engine shutters, shuts off and on. Goes into limp mode as engine shutters at about 15 miles per hour. GM has not included this 2021 Tahoe which is the same exact condition under Product Safety Recall N212332040 "Stall While Driving". That recall was issued at the same time or month as this Tahoe was built and sold and should have been included. This Tahoe was towed to the dealer and GM has not been able to supply parts. The Tahoe will soon have been at the dealer for 60 days with no solution. The recall build dates should be expanded to include all GM vehicles with this defect. It is explained as: "The fuel pump power control modules in these vehicles may contain a supplier manufacturing defect that can cause the fuel pump to fail or operate intermittently, interrupting the flow of fuel to the engine. If the engine does not receive adequate fuel, the vehicle may unexpectedly stall. The driver may see a check engine light, receive an OnStar notification that a Diagnostic Trouble Code has been set, or experience a rough running engine. The vehicle may also be placed into a reduced power mode. A vehicle stall without warning could increase the risk of a crash, especially at high speeds"

On May 9th, 2025 we had to have our 2022 Tahoe towed to the local dealership. There was a transmission error message and the battery was completely drained. The dealer put a new battery in it for $485 and we were told it was good to go. The next day, the car would not go into Reverse. Had to have it towed back to the dealership and was told that the Transmission failure was a recalled part and would be covered. Later we were called and told even though the part that had failed is in fact the same part in the open recall, that our VIN was not on the recall list and the cost to fix the vehicle would not be covered. In addition to all the headaches and money out of pocket (rental cars, tows, new battery) we now have to wait at least 4 - 6 weeks to receive the recalled part but since our VIN is not on the 2022 Tahoe recall list (even though it is the same part as the recall that failed), we are having to pay out of pocket for the repairs. Chevy needs to stand behind this recall and cover the cost.

Driving at highway speeds 70mph, the engine stopped running and vehicle lost all power during heavy rush hour traffic. I was in the middle lane and lost all power breaks and steering, the engine wouldn't restart and I had to force my way to the side of the road. The vehicle only has 21,709 miles and was purchased new less than a year ago. All scheduled maintenance has been performed. The engine is seized and will not restart. There were no warning signs.

The Onstar module has failed. This part is the Telematic Control Unit or TCU. This is a widespread issue with no ETA of part replacement. This is an issue that is not often covered under warranty especially for vehicles outside of the age/mileage requirement of the company. This should be investigated and issued as a recall.
