While driving on vacation our car just slowed down gave the message, “reduced acceleration, drive with care” and then shut off while on the high way. We were able to start it again but after that haven’t had that message but have had the message to service safety restraint system multiple times. I have taken my SUV to the dealership multiple times for both issues and they have said multiple codes generate but they can’t find anything to fix.

Since purchasing the vehicle on September 27, 2024, I have experienced a series of troubling issues that raise serious concerns about its design, manufacturing, and overall safety, including: Airbag system malfunction: My airbags were nonfunctional for over a month. Tire-related issues: Required full replacement of the initial set of tires. Persistent alignment problems Bluetooth audio problems: Poor quality and connectivity with multiple phones, resolved only after a service visit in May 2025. Defective seat frame: Rear passenger-side bucket seat required full replacement. Defective paint: Blisters and bubbles in the rear quarter panel paint. Fuel module failure: Most concerning, the vehicle abruptly stopped on the road last week and required towing. I was later told the cause was a fuel module failure. Each of these issues is concerning on its own. Taken together, they represent a troubling pattern of unreliability and potential risk to my safety and that of others on the road. They’ve also resulted in a significant loss of my time. This vehicle has spent over a month at the dealership for service—astounding for a truck that’s only eight months old. These are the kinds of delays and disruptions I specifically try to avoid by purchasing and maintaining new Chevrolet vehicles.

- #11665912June 9, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
I have had my cruise control set and my car will slam on the brakes with no vehicles in front of my car or on each side. This has happened multiple times, it doesn’t matter if I am going 40MPH or 60+MPH. I have taken it in and they say there is nothing they can do for the issue. I’m worried for the safety of myself, my family, and my unborn child. As well as any cars around (behind me potentially) when this happens. I do not want to unintentionally cause an accident.

The check engine warning light illuminated, and the contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the engine. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the lifters, push rods, and two valves, and cylinder 6 had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic; however, no cause for the failure was found. The independent mechanic stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of oil and in cylinder #1, the lifters had failed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic and was diagnosed with oil intrusion into the bank covers and piston damages. The vehicle was repaired for the most recent failure. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -My engine started to make a loud ticking and knocking noise. I brought it into Good Chevrolet in Renton WA 6/3/25 where they told me there is an “internal engine failure due to failure of the lifters.” When I asked the dealership for the repair estimate so I could possibly have a second opinion, they said they were “not comfortable giving their information and the problem in writing.” They refuse to give us any documentation but were insistent that even though NHTSA has issued a mass recall for this exact same issue on the larger engine in my same year of vehicle, “it’s unrelated.” How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -The engine is failing and had we not brought it in for diagnosis, I could have had full engine failure while driving with my children and been in a catastrophic crash. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -Yes the problem can be reproduced and has been confirmed by Good Chevrolet. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? -Good Chevrolet inspected the engine but refuse to give us documentation though they had us file a claim with GM (I will attach the claim email) Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -I noticed a small noise after I had fans replaced in September but the noise gradually increased so it was brought in for diagnostics. There were no warning lamps or messages.

The engine stopped working. I was stranded on the highway and needed a tow. It was towed to a Chevrolet dealership in Alexandria MN, where it was diagnosed with a spun rear main bearing in the engine needed to be replaced. There were no warning lamps or anything prior to the engine completely shutting off and not being able to start again.
