General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV vehicles. The pedestrian alert sound system may not produce a sufficient change in volume between the vehicle being stopped and moving at low speeds. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 141, "Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles."
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Blazer, Blazer EV, Equinox, and GMC Terrain vehicles. The door strikers may fracture, resulting in the door opening unexpectedly.
I was using ACC on the freeway when the car in front of me abruptly stopped. I felt the car decelerate, but it didn’t feel like the car was slowing enough. By the time I manually pressed the brakes my car skidded and hit the stopped car in front of me. There was a flashing light that happened right before I hit the car warning me to brake. I’m worried that my car’s friction brakes were not activated by ACC. I will be taking it to an autobody shop soon for repair.
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle started jerking and surging forward, and the engine power was reduced, causing the vehicle to decelerate. The contact depressed the brake pedal and turned on the hazard lights to move to a safe place, and the vehicle was towed to the residence. After parking the vehicle overnight, the vehicle was started; however, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a certified mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer cleared the fault codes and advised the customer to change the high-pressure pump if the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact researched and found information about Technical Service Bulletin: N242450160, NHTSA ID Number: 11009677 (Fuel/Propulsion System); and contacted the manufacturer, who informed the contact that the vehicle was not included. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

Door handles retract, but often the motor goes out causing them to no longer stick out when trying to gain entry. This could heavily delay any rescue attempt.

Door handles fail to present, and have to be opened manually. This has happened to one handle, that I have had fixed (driver door) and is now happening to another (rear passenger door). While the door handles can be opened manually, it takes two hands to open, which would be difficult to do in an emergency. What's more, the door handle flips back quickly when opened manually, resulting in possible injury due to getting fingers caught.

An independent mechanic responded to the location. The vehicle was diagnosed with a failed high-pressure fuel pump and failed fuel injectors, and the contact was informed that the high-pressure fuel regulator required replacement. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was confirmed that the high-pressure fuel pump and fuel injectors had failed.
