General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles. The four rear-seat lower child seat LATCH anchorage bars may have excessive powder coating, which could prevent a child seat from being installed with the anchorage bars. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles equipped with ventilated front passenger seats. The Occupant Classification System may not properly disable the front passenger air bag when there is a small child or child restraint detected in the seat.

Vehicle Safety Complaint — 2023 Chevrolet Equinox LT I am reporting a potentially dangerous safety defect involving my 2023 Chevrolet Equinox LT equipped with the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. While operating my vehicle on a public roadway, it suddenly lost power and stopped functioning without advance warning, creating a dangerous situation for myself and other motorists. The vehicle had to be towed to an authorized Chevrolet dealership. I received no prior recall notification, and my VIN did not indicate an applicable recall. The dealership informed me that the fuel pump recall applied only to 2.5-liter engines. I am concerned because General Motors has published fuel pump control module recall campaign N262558690 and technical service bulletin 24-NA-139, both of which list the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox. The service bulletin specifically describes engine stalling and loss of power. I request that NHTSA investigate whether my vehicle experienced a related defect and whether the affected vehicle population should be reviewed. I can provide the dealership’s diagnostic findings, repair records, towing documentation and any additional information requested. Also too. Since OnStar equipment in radio and car did a remote update this summer this failed other components and softwares believe it killed my battery i had to replace, everything electronic since then have going downhill. I experienced this recall last produced, Chevrolet lied to me, my car has been fixed for now but my vin should be entered in database. Chevrolet is telling people its 2.5 motors when clearly it states my make and model it happened and they dont make 2.5 motors for equinox class. This dealer is scammish or Chevrolet is hiding potential recalls. Im just waiting for another electronic to fail and another false answer. We will see? My situations are real and pose saftey concerns. There is a report police filed cause they towed it.

Driving around a curve and the steering wheel would not move. Wheels locked up and heard a clink the lower control arm disconnected from the car.
Fuel pump was recalled from what I was told. I got it towed into the shop because it stopped in the middle of me driving down the road with my children, from the doctor, July 2026, they then said it was fixed. September 2026, I was going to pick up my son from work and it stopped again, with my children in the car, again, this time on the expressway in the middle of rush hour traffic. I got it towed to the same shop (dealership) for the same problem and now they're trying to charge me for a repair that wasn't fixed in the first place.

The high-pressure fuel pump on my 2023 Chevrolet Equinox has suffered a structural mechanical failure, creating a severe risk of sudden engine stall while driving. Exactly 60 days ago, a certified GM dealership performed Customer Satisfaction Program N252524760 on this vehicle to address fuel system faults. The software calibration mandated by the campaign failed to resolve the underlying physical defect. The exact same fuel system trouble codes have returned, and the vehicle is now unsafe to transport my children. The manufacturer's remedy was incomplete, and the dealership is refusing to replace the defective mechanical pump without an out-of-pocket charge, despite the failure stemming directly from a documented corporate defect program.

**NHTSA Complaint Summary: 2023 Chevrolet Equinox Warranty & Safety Failure** * **First Stall & Initial Negligence:** After a factory engine replacement, the vehicle suffered a fuel system failure. Castle Rock Chevrolet falsely claimed it was repaired, leading to a catastrophic stall on a high-speed highway with raw gasoline and burning plastic odors. * **Second Stall & False Diagnosis:** Following a tow, the dealership cleared the car, claiming "no errors". Within 24 hours, it stalled again in live traffic. Castle Rock then refused emergency warranty service and hung up on you. * **Critical Safety Hazard:** The vehicle experiences a severe electrical voltage drop (triggering **"Engine Power Is Reduced"** and **"Battery Saver Active"** warnings). This causes a sudden, dangerous **loss of Electric Power Steering (steering locks up)** and **fuel injection failure** while driving in traffic, creating an extreme crash risk. This recurring hazard stems from improperly reassembled or melted wiring harnesses following dealership repairs.
