This problem is with a 2023 R/S/ AWD Blazer: When there is wet slippery snow, and I apply the brakes normally the system immediately goes to rapid clicking of the ABS system activated on the front brakes and I hear no clicks from the rear wheels. From the time of the ABS being activated the front wheels go into a slide and the rear wheels only roll along with no braking action as I have opened my driver's door and watched the driver's rear wheel while activating the brakes. I have been to the dealer two times, and they find nothing wrong. I found on the internet one other person complaining with the same issues as me on a 2021 R/S AWD blazer. When this happens, it is a accident waiting to happen situation.

I just got off work, and when I start my vehicle, my infotainment screen that I use for GPS and other features that are included in the safety of the car, and the screen just says, “Update Failed, Return to Dealer.”. The service advisor at Chevy says that this happens and that there is nothing they can do besides replace the entire radio, at a cost of $2000 with Labor. I also researched the issue online and there are dedicated websites to this very issue with multiple year and models in the Chevy lineup that uses the Chevy MyLink infotainment center. Which is in every vehicle they sell. So currently I’m unable to access any radio, GPS, safety cameras around the vehicle, or any of my OnStat Emergency Services that come with the vehicle due to an update that I never asked for, or even attempted to install. And for Chevy to not replace the radio but instead recognize it’s a problem but still charging you to fix something that they know is defective.

The Transmission valve control body went out while I was on the freeway.I was able to pull off to the side safely but has rendered my vehicle inoperable until I get this repaired. I have confirmed this with the dealership. This is a large enough issue with vehicles that the necessary parts are on back order. Anecdotally, the dealership told me there was a vehicle that was waiting for almost 3 months for a replacement part. For context I have regularly maintained this vehicle and just 10000 miles ago got my transmission flushed.

- #11645502February 28, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On February 14, 2025, at approximately 0700 hours, I was traveling southbound on XXX, approaching a left turn (eastbound) onto XXX. I was the first vehicle in the turn lane with no other vehicles or pedestrians in front of me. The road conditions were clear, dry, and cold. Upon receiving a green light to proceed with my left turn, I began to accelerate without issue. However, approximately halfway through the turn, my vehicle's pedestrian collision avoidance system was unexpectedly triggered. The red windshield alert light began flashing, accompanied by an audible warning, followed by hard braking. My vehicle came to a stop in the middle of the turn, despite there being no vehicle, pedestrian, or any other object in my path. This sudden and unwarranted activation of the emergency braking system put me at great risk. Had a vehicle been traveling northbound on XXX, it would have collided with my vehicle. Similarly, if there had been a vehicle behind me, it could have caused a rear-end collision. The system’s phantom activation, with no clear reason, was extremely alarming and could have resulted in a serious accident. I have experienced sporadic false alerts in the past, including red windshield alerts with audible warnings, typically during heavy traffic in parallel lanes. However, this was the first time the system engaged the brakes. I immediately deactivated the feature after returning home. On February 25, 2025, I took my vehicle to XXX, for inspection. During my visit, the service department could not identify any issues with the system. They kept the vehicle for further diagnostics and performed a road test on February 26, 2025. However, no issue was found, and the emergency braking did not activate during the test. I was informed that there was nothing more they could do.

The contact's daughter rented a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, after driving over a small imperfection in the roadway, there was an abnormal scraping sound coming from underneath the vehicle. The driver pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway. After a visual inspection, the contact observed that the exhaust mounting bracket had disconnected. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic by the rental company, and the vehicle was repaired; however, the contact’s daughter was not provided with the diagnostic results. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 29,000.

This is re: dash warning that came on saying "Action Required, Steering Assist is Reduced, Drive with Care" on 2021 Chevy Blazer, 28.800 miles. First happened 1/15/25 & each time car is started it is on now, plus the Check Engine light is on now. The fan of the motor runs for 5-10 minutes once car is shut off also. I have read of the power steering locking totally up on other Blazers that this has happened on, making this a very big danger and risky. I am not sure if it is power steering, electrical, or engine issue, but believe with so many reports out there and it causing a danger to people driving, GM/Chevrolet should put a recall on this and look at these before people are killed (if not already due to this). I am taking mine to Chevy dealer to have it looked at, but many people may not have that option.

While driving previous year 2024 the steering wheel became stiff and hard to turn. I was going around 60MPH and the Reduce Steering Drive with caution appear. Took it to the nearest Autzone no codes. We removed battery for 30 min and the steering wheel worked. Again changed my battery and the steering wheel will not turn. Had to disconnect for a day and the steering wheel worked. Fast forward 2025 Jan 14th driving down highway 360 going 60MPH my steering wheel message reappear. Called a dealer service they say they don't know. We had to tow it back to the house after work my OBD reader did not have any codes. Is a dangerous issue that needs to be recalled. I could of cause and accident.

I have a 2021 Chevy Blazer that has 31,0000 miles and my steering locked up. I was driving and barley got into a parking lot. Told by a certified dealer it is the power steering gear and possible the power steering module. No parts available and no ETA. This does not make sense that the steering with such low miles has gone out. I have read on the GM forum that multiple people have had this issue. I could have been killed. Why has there not been a recall on this very expensive repair?

- #11631839December 20, 2024TIRES
265 ./ 45 R21 on our 2022 Blazer AWD Premier. I have the tires rotated every 10,000 miles and the vehicle only has 30,600 miles and all 4 tires have worn out, down to 2/32 or 3/32. I have owned 20+ GM vehicles over the past 25 years and I have never had to replace a tire due to tread wear before 45,000-50,000 miles. This is an expensive mid-range SUV and should not have junk tires. It is also my first GM vehicle that has Continental tires. The replacement Continental tire is $370 each. These are expensive tires and the SUV costs more that $55K, this is not ok. I see there is one other complaint filled for tires, but most consumers don’t know this web site exists. I would not except we I called Chevy customer service, they recommend that i file a complaint. I also don’t think most Blazers have 21 tires, i order this vehicle from Chevy with this as an upgrade option. Please research this tire brand and model as well as 2022 Blazer AWD Premiers with 21 tires an i think you will see this is a pervasive problem. Thank you.

On [XXX], I was driving my Blazer up to our local Museum to grab some information. The Museum is about a mile and a half from my house. When I had left my house, the car was driving like normal. I pulled into a parking spot at the Museum, and I went to shut the vehicle off, and I thought maybe the check engine light had come on but wasn't completely paying attention to the dash. About 10 minutes later I went to restart the vehicle to leave and I noticed the check engine light on. Since the vehicle seemed to be driving okay I thought I could make it home and check the car's computer to see what the issue was. As I was leaving the parking lot I stopped at the end of the parking lot to look before pulling out onto the road and the Blazer said shift to neutral and restart the vehicle. When I did that the vehicle would not start. It would just crank and crank and then it would finally start for a few seconds. I was going to back my vehicle up out of the road but each time I would try the car would die. I am very thankful this did not happen on the highway or even on the freeway. A friend and myself had to push my vehicle back into a parking spot. The DTC code is a P023F. When this happens, you can't technically shift the vehicle into neutral to push it out of the way because the car has to be running to shift. I was able to force it into neutral, however. I made an appointment with Awesome Chevrolet in Chehalis WA and had to have it towed to the dealer. They stated it was the fuel pump module. I had at that time 18,388 miles on the odometer. Unfortunately, I no longer feel safe with this vehicle in case it happens again. Where I am hours from home or on a 2-lane road or freeway. The fuel pump module failure appears to be a known issue with GM vehicles. The fuel pump module was replaced and was able to be replaced under warranty. I hope that it does not happen again. - #11630250December 11, 2024VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
I was driving down the highway at 70mph using the adaptive cruise control. There was nobody in front of me, and suddenly the vehicle started picking up speed. I looked at the cruise control and it said 115mph, so I hit the brakes to override it and slow down. when I reset it for , ~70mph again it worked fine. This happened to me two other times with the same basic scenario. The speed is always over 100mph, and it always occurs when the adaptive cruise control has been in use for at least 30 minutes. I have an appt with the dealer that I bought it from to have it looked at. No warning lights and no other symptoms.

Upon driving my vehicle twice it shut off on the roadway once on an incline when a message of 2 keys detected and flashed on the dashboard prior to the vehicle shutting off. Vehicle would not restart until 15 minutes later it restarted but the dashboard kept flashing 2 keys detected. There was only one key in the vehicle at the time and the key fob has had the battery replaced upon the first incident which was on 11/14/2024 and the second incident was on 11/16/2024.

P0128, AC not working, Steering Assist Reduced, and Temp Gauge not working. Problem caused by faulty ECT wiring. First the problem is the ECT is a two wire (signal + and -) 26 gauge wire running through the ignition coil wire harness. Ignition coil signals are very high voltage and fairly fast frequency which causes a lot of EMI which is easily picked up on a 2 wire voltage based wire set. The ECT wiring should have been a twisted shielded pair if running next to Coil wiring or they could have used a single wire resistance thermistor, but they should have just routed the signal a different way to begin with. This is a design issue and it should be a recall...maybe a class action lawsuit is needed to force them to fix it correctly. The FSB (field service bulletin) fix blames loose connector terminals and it patches the computer software to not include ECT wire failures in the Steering, AC, and temp gauge inhibit logic (overtemp readings will still fail off these functions). Also the P0128 code can come back occasionally.

- #11625772November 17, 2024SERVICE BRAKES
The brakes failed on my SUV as I was driving on a city street. Yes it is available for inspection. Losing my breaks almost caused a collision with the car in front of me but due to the distance between the cars and the low speed at the time, I was able to avoid collision and detour into a parking lot where I cruised to a stop with the help of a parking lot space concrete stop. The problem was not reproduced by me but the service center computer diagnostics confirmed break issues. The service center says that the cause was low voltage of the car battery which affected the brakes. This is a very dangerous situation if the vehicle can lose complete braking ability due to a low voltage battery. This is the reason for reporting the issue. They replace the battery and said that should fix the issue. They said the only recourse to avoid this happening again is to replace the battery around every 2 years. The issue was inspected by a service center owned by the manufacturer of my SUV. The warning lamps only occurred as the brake system failed. A message of "Brake System Failure" appeared and the "Check Engine" light came on. Within the previous week of the issue the SUV also had other electrical issues such as the Climate Control interface went out and the rear camera also went out.
