Our vehicle's check engine light came on, and we took it to the dealership as it is still under factory warranty. The dealership determined upper radiator blind slat was broken and detached due to an impact. I completely disagree as there is no signs of impact, and there are only signs that this is a poorly designed part. About two weeks after this first event, I was looking for a way to fix this myself as the dealership was wanting close to $2,500 for repairs. While inspecting, I noticed that there was another broken one already. These parts are just poorly made and will not withstand the use required under BMW's design. It is a small thin piece of plastic that will wear and break over time. These are supposed to aid in fuel conservation, but it just seems like a poor design to me. Since purchase, the vehicle has exhibited a persistent defect involving both rear tires losing air on a daily basis. This condition requires constant manual refilling and repeatedly triggers warning alerts on the vehicle dashboard. Despite bringing the vehicle to the dealership no fewer than five times for the exact same issue, the problem remains unresolved. This represents a clear failure to repair a recurring defect, and more importantly, a potential safety hazard, as tire pressure instability directly affects vehicle control and operational safety. Additionally, during a recent service visit, the vehicle was returned in worse condition than when it was delivered: The tire issue was not resolved; The tires were returned underinflated; A check engine light was activated, which was not present prior to service. I was driving my 2025 X7 and the sunroof unexpectedly and spontaneously exploded above my head. I had left my house about 2 minutes prior, driving 40 mph on street near my home. I was in the middle lane of a 6-lane wide street, no car ahead of me and no cars to the side or behind me. Nothing hit my car at all. The glass from the sunroof shattered leaving a large hole, and glass was caught in the sun shade as I had it closed. Had the sun shade been open, I would’ve had glass explode in my face while driving, putting my life in danger. I also have 3 children in car seats who thankfully were not present during the incident. BMW will not acknowledge that this is a defect in the manufacturing or design and are essentially gaslighting me saying a rock hit my car. Again, no car ahead of me in the 100 yards I could see ahead that would suggest anything hit my car. No warnings from the car at all, just spontaneous glass explosion above my head. This is a design flaw at BMW that must be addressed before it kills someone.

While driving under normal conditions, the Lane Keep Assist system on my 2025 BMW Alpina XB7 unexpectedly and violently jerked the steering wheel without driver input. The sudden steering intervention caused the vehicle to abruptly change direction and strike a curb, resulting in a loss-of-control event. This occurred without warning and could have resulted in a serious crash involving other vehicles, pedestrians, or roadside obstacles. Additionally, the adaptive cruise control system has repeatedly applied sudden and aggressive braking without an apparent reason or obstacle present. These abrupt braking events create a significant risk of a rear-end collision, as following vehicles are not anticipating such sudden deceleration. These issues involve advanced driver-assistance safety systems that are intended to enhance control and safety. Instead, they are operating in a manner that overrides driver input and introduces unsafe driving conditions. The servicing dealership acknowledged the issues and advised me not to use the Lane Keep Assist and cruise control features. Being instructed to disable safety systems due to unsafe behavior is unacceptable and does not resolve the underlying defect. Given the loss-of-control incident and the ongoing unpredictable braking behavior, I believe these defects present a serious safety risk to vehicle occupants and the public.
