I have a 2017 Acura rdx all wash lights on ( Check emissions, abs, brake, brake system, power steering, tpms, and hill start assist, air bags, no seatbelt). Been to 3 different dealerships nobody can figure out what's wrong because the car does not communicate with itself anymore. Unsafe to drive because some is majorly wrong. Losses acceleration and beeps at you that the whole vehicle is not working.

- #11655137April 17, 2025ENGINE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
While in traffic and stopped at a light, the engine stalled and completely shut down all of a sudden. I had to restart the car and was able to drive home. The engine stalled while in traffic with two other passengers in the car and during a time with other vehicles on the road. The car stalled shortly after turning a corner and other cars potentially rear ending my car due to a sudden stalling. I’m on the way to the dealership where I purchased the 2020 Acura RDX AWD brand new for a check up. The vehicle has not yet been checked by anyone but will be later today. When the car stalled, there were no warning lamps or messages. This was the first time happening but the electrical system has turned off unexpectedly before. I’ve brought the car back to the dealership for the electrical system and it was previously repaired. The new problem includes the electrical system outage plus engine stalling during traffic. Very scary and unacceptable for any car.

Low beam headlights are very dim, making it difficult to see at night. I believe this puts me, as well as other drivers at serious risk of injury. I see many other reported issues with the low beam headlights being too dim, but evidently Honda/Acura has not recalled my car (yet).

My back window on my 2020 Acura RDX shattered while it was parked at school. When I opened my passenger door to put my backpack in, I heard some cracking. I walked around the front of my car and when I opened my driver's side door, I heard and saw the back window glass falling inside and outside of my car. I viewed the cameras at school and could tell the glass had cracked earlier, but believe the hole in the glass occurred from a combination of the pressure change opening my door and the vibration from shutting the door. One of my fellow teachers who came out while I was looking at the damage searched online and discovered it is a known problem for my year and model car. I called the service department at my local Acura dealership and immediately drove there. The service tech told me that he believed it would be covered since it is a known issue although my car is out of warranty. Acura posted a Service Bulletin (22-014) on October 28, 2022 that includes the VIN of my car in the affected vehicles. The bulletin states that the rear glass can shatter or break with no external impact due to incorrect specification of the rear defroster grid. The service manager called me the next afternoon to tell me he spoke to an Acura rep and they would only cover half. I am responsible for paying almost $400 to repair my back window that Acura knows is a safety issue to break since there has not been an official recall. It is not safe to operate a vehicle with a broken back window, in addition to the issues of weather exposure and not being able to secure the vehicle from others being able to access it. This repair should be covered by Acura since they are clearly aware of this issue and my car was included in the affected vehicles, even though my car is not under warranty anymore. Windows breaking are a safety issue and should be covered by the manufacturer due to their negligence.

On or about March 10, 2025, I brought my vehicle to Acura of Ocean in Ocean Township, NJ. My infotainment center was crackling continuously, and the screen was black, rendering my navigation system, radio, clock, and Apple CarPlay unusable. The constant crackling, with the screen downloading graphics, and various messages popping up, such as "check tuner" and "network connection lost," is a constant distraction and annoyance while driving. I have no choice but to use my iPhone, forcing me to take my eyes off the road. The dealer inspected the car and informed me that my amplifier and tuner had water damage from a leak on the tailgate top seal. I paid Acura $258.71 to have the seal replaced. I was told the seal caused the water damage and was given an estimate for $3339.09 to replace both components. I contacted Honda of America because I had learned of a recall of 2019 Acura RDXs for this precise problem. The case manager of Honda got back to me and informed me that Honda of America offered to pay all but $1366.93 to replace the components. I refused the offer because I do not see how I should be liable for any cost. It remains unclear why my VIN did not appear during the recall and why I received no notice of said recall. I strongly feel that Honda's offering me any money is an admission of responsibility/guilt for this problem. If there were no liability, Honda would have offered nothing. I hope to receive communication back from your agency advising what I should do in order to have Honda recognize and admit their error and make good on the repair. Thank you, and please help! Left headlight low beam has become progressively more dim over time and although it appears functional, it's not actually lighting the roadway. Have replaced bulbs and cleaned/buffed headlight assembly with no improvement. Had entire headlight assembly replaced with used headlamp assembly and replaced bulbs, but no improvement. 2014 RDX head lamps have been recalled for the same reason. Driving at night is difficult and dangerous.

The contact owns a 2021 Acura RDX. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the front headlights and instrument panel lights started blinking off and on. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the body control module had malfunctioned due to water intrusion from the moon roof seals. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.

After purchasing this used vehicle from a dealership we began driving home and it got dark. It was then we noticed the headlights on the vehicle are significantly dimmer than other vehicles. I was driving in front of them and noticed this once we got out of the city and onto the freeway. Once we got home I confirmed with the person driving the vehicle that in the dark and rain it was very difficult to see and they felt unsafe. I checked to ensure the lights were turned on properly, which they were. I was hoping that replacing the bulbs would fix the issue but when I went to research this I discovered that many people online experienced the same issue and that replacing the bulbs would not fix the issue. I confirmed in the paperwork and online that the vehicle was up to dates on recall work but that this known issue was not part of any as of yet. I would like to ask that this safety issue be resolved via recall as until doing so I will not be driving in the rain or night as we believe it a potential safety hazard and likely to cause accident or injury to someone.

Vehicles rear windshield shatters on its own without any impact. It's is a known problem for the manufacture cause they have come out with a service bulletin. It's a safety issue due to when driving or even staying stationary rear windshield will break. All 2019 and 2020 have this problem. Windshield shatters due to manufacturer making poor quality product and does not want to make it a recall even tho it's a safety concern.

The reflective material inside the headlight fixtures in this vehicle have degraded so severely the low beams don't illuminate the road well enough to drive it at night. This is a manufacturer defect that has been confirmed by the Acura dealership we took it to for repair. They told us the cost to replace both fixtures is ~$2,500, which we could not afford. This is a huge safety issue, one that prevents us from driving it at night unless absolutely necessary, in which case we have to use the high beams. The 2014 Acura RDX was recalled for this defect and I frankly don't understand why the 2015s haven't -- it's exactly the same issue. We contacted our auto insurance company about submitting a claim, but they do not cover manufacturer defects. Reaching out to the NHTSA for any assistance or advice you can provide.

Headlights do not put out enough light to see anything at night. Replacing light bulbs, and ensuring that headlight housing was clear ( not cloudy ) does not fixt the issue. Without using high beams it is difficult to see, but that would also cause hazard for oncoming traffic.
