The contact owns a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the ABS warning light was illuminated, and a message indicating that the brake light bulb had failed was displayed even though the bulb was operable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the ABS module had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the part was not available. The contact stated that the mechanic contacted several dealers and was informed that the part was on backorder or had been discontinued. A local dealer also informed the contact that an ETA for the part could be provided, but the part would not be available on the expected date based on past experience. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

In 2020 I bought this Jeep, within the first 3 months I had to replace the TIPM, at $950.00, now 5 years later the same problem, the TIPM is having issues again. Causing the engine to overheat. Jeep is telling me this happens, not at $950 every 5 years, I was told there was a recall initially when they were new. There has to be some sort of recourse, you just can’t sell faulty parts and say it just happens! On [XXX] I was driving down hill at a good speed, when all of a sudden my car completely turned off and almost threw me through the windshield. I found out that this was a result of an OTA update that I was not informed of. After this occurred and I finally got my vehicle to start, all the electric started glitching and the rear view camera only operates sometimes. This car is very dangerous I will not get back in it ever again. My vehicle is at Coastline Chrysler in San Juan Capistrano, California where it will remain as I do not intend on ever getting back in it again. I am requesting to get out of the last 11 months of my lease and a full refund for 25 lease payments as well as my $4500 cash deposit upon leasing. I am in a rental and I cannot afford it so I need immediate action INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was driving and all the lights on the cluster came on, with an instruction to slowly pull over place the vehicle in park and restart the vehicle. Apparently the vehicle dead while I was driving it. At the same time I received a message from the vehicle app saying unable to charge vehicle. Strange because I was driving the vehicle at that time and not attempting to charge it.

- #11695510October 24, 2025STEERING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
I was driving 72 miles per hour on 4 lane highway and the steering wheel and front end of the jeep was vibrating uncontrollably. The cruse control stopped working, i applied the brake and was able to slow down and pull over to the side of the road. No flat tires so I pulled back on to the highway and arrived at my destination without further incident. 10-24-25 The same thing happened last week but i thought maybe the lane assist went off because there were no road lines (newly repaved road) but my Jeep doesn't have lane assist. After researching on line I believe what occurred is what they call "Death wobble" there were no bumps in the road - the road is in good condition so I'm not certain what prompted the death wobble.

The contact leased a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the hybrid battery became inoperable, and the regular battery failed to operate properly. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel was wobbling. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated and were turning on and off. The vehicle failed to start after an hour but eventually restarted. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V787000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with a malfunctioning hybrid battery. The regular batter was also inoperable. The contact stated that a software update was completed. The vehicle was partially repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. My ABS module has been out/faulty for more than two years. I have been unable to get a repair/replacement part due to national back orders. Chrysler has been no help at all. I believe this is a safety issue that Chrysler isnt taking serious.

The fuel pump relay that is embedded within the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) failed on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited after only 47391 miles, causing intermittent engine stalls and problems starting. When taken to the Sisbarro Deming, NM CDJR dealership for repair, there were no replacement TIPMs in the stock system available to fix my vehicle, despite my vehicle being only 7 years old. This suggests an abnormally high rate of failure if the manufacturer is unable to maintain an adequate stock to support their vehicles. Given this has been an issue with Jeeps of previous model years (1), it is evident the problem has not been addressed yet. My Jeep began misfiring, giving a P0304 error code via the ODB. On June 2nd 2025, we took it to the Sandy Sansing CDJR Dealership. They determined that my 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine needed a new camshaft and lifters, despite having only 42,609 miles on it. To further complicate things, it took the dealership over a month to get a replacement camshaft in and installed, due to an abnormally high demand for replacement camshafts; this suggests a systemic problem with the engine, especially considering the problematic history of earlier versions of the 3.6L Pentastar V6 (1). https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2014/MC-10069161-0335.pdf

The Check Engine light illuminated and diagnostic code P219A was recorded (Bank 1 Air/Fuel Ratio Imbalance), and the engine has a ticking noise. The dealership has indicated the issue likely involves the valvetrain/rocker arms/lifters and will require engine internal repair (valve cover removal, spark plug replacement, possible rocker arm replacement) estimated at ~$2,900-$4,500. The 3.6 L Pentastar engine has been the subject of numerous owner complaints of ticking noise, power loss, misfire, and premature valvetrain failure. I understand there have been related Jeep Technical Service Bulletins (such as 09-002-14 and 09-008-18) addressing these types of failures. A class action lawsuit (Maugain et al. v. FCA US LLC) alleges defects in the 3.6L Pentastar engine’s valve train (rocker arms, lifters) and failure to disclose the defect. Maintenance History: Regular oil changes (every <6,000 miles) at approved service centers; no prior major engine internal repairs. Concern: The defect affects engine performance, may lead to catastrophic engine failure, and potentially reduces safe vehicle operation and control (power loss, hesitation). Relief Sought: I request the NHTSA open a vehicle safety defect investigation and compel FCA / Chrysler / Jeep to evaluate this condition under recall criteria.

I lease a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN [XXX] ). On 10/23/2025, while traveling about 50 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and the dash displayed “Put in Park to drive.” I had to coast through traffic, stop, shift to Park, and fully restart to regain drive. Within minutes it recurred. This defect is unpredictable and dangerous. I regularly commute on the Ohio Turnpike at highway speeds and I cannot risk driving this vehicle because it can cut power without warning, leaving me unable to accelerate while surrounding traffic closes in. I am avoiding highway use entirely and limiting all driving due to the high risk of rear-end collision during a power loss. The vehicle is unsafe to operate until a permanent remedy exists. Background: the vehicle has previously exhibited powertrain/electrical issues (including overheating) and spent ~2.5 weeks at the dealer over the summer. Early incidents occurred under 18,000 miles. Recall context: Mopar and NHTSA show an open safety recall A7C / 25V-710 on my VIN for loss of motive power; status “remedy not yet available.” The vehicle is available for inspection by NHTSA or the manufacturer. I can provide screenshots/video of the “Put in Park to drive” message and repair records upon request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Failed Recall Repair and Improper Diagnostics Charges - Jeep Recall No. 23V116 (Manual Transmission Clutch Overheating) & Violation of 49 U.S.C. Section 30120 Dear Sir or Madam, I am submitting this complaint regarding an unresolved safety defect and improper repair charges related to an official recall performed on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler (manual transmission). The issue concerns Recall No. 23V116 and superseding Recall 21V028, which addresses clutch overheating and associated software logic. Prior to the recall work performed, my Jeep had approximately 23,000 miles on it, and I never had any issues with the manual transmission or transmission related warning codes. In May, I received letters informing me that I needed to take my Jeep to the dealership as soon as possible to have the above recall work performed to avoid potential overheating and fire hazards related to my clutch plate. In June 2025, I brought my vehicle to Don White's Jeep dealership on York Rd. in Cockeysville, MD. The dealership replaced the clutch hardware and performed a software update as required. I did not drive the Jeep for a couple of months due to weather and frequent rainfall during June, July & August. Upon driving the Jeep in August, the "Service Transmission" light came on, and I immediately notified the dealership, and they performed a software update to fix the warning light, admitting they did not realize the software update was required the first time. Two days later, the "Service Transmission" light came on again, and I immediately notified the dealership and dropped the Jeep off to be serviced. The dealership has now had the Jeep for more than a month and has not been able to resolve the "Service Transmission" issue. They are now refusing to perform any additional work unless I pay them approx. $1,000 in diagnostics fees. I opened a case with Jeep Customer Care and they also refused coverage and are demanding payment.

Over-the-air firmware update that caused an in-motion shutdown while driving. various dash lights came on, shift to park indicator flashed, loss power, steering wheel stiffened up to the point it wouldn't move. There were no warnings before it went haywire. My family's safety was at risk as we were driving and it put us in danger and had to carefully get to the side of the road. We had it towed to Jeep where they say they fixed it but we have no trust to drive it now. The service advisor at the Jeep dealerships said "it looks like someone at Jeep pushed the big red button and sent out an update that wasn't ready yet" which is a huge concern for all Jeep owners.

A software update was pushed put to the Jeep via over the air update on or around 10/10/2025. After installation, Jeep unexpectantly shut down while driving. I was doing approx 35 miles per hour 1/2 mile from my house in the first drive after the update happened. All power to the jeep was lost and I was forced to drive off the road as i no longer had any abiblity to accelerate. After pulling off the road I was able to press the brake and start the vehicle. It started but only went another short distance before losing power again. This happened muiltiple times before I was able to make it back to the house. THe check engine light also appeared. The loss of power was 100% attributable to the software update as per many Jeep forums. This update was rolled out OTA on a Friday and with the dealerships closed over the weekend I had to find other transporation as my vehicle was bricked. Received the car back from the dealer on 10/22 after a system control software update.

Vehicle rear locker light flashing indicating the rear locker was turned on when, leaving a retail shop, and the rear locker engaged in 2WD on its own! No indication prior to this, it came out of the blue. Tried to disengage the rear locker via selector switch but unsuccessful. Any attempts to drive were met with severe jumping and jerking of the vehicle with loud metal banging noises. Tried both reverse and forward as well as putting it in 4WD and then back to 2WD to disengage the locker. Not successful. Vehicle towed to Jeep dealership. Luckily I was in a parking lot and not on the main road. If this happened on the main road at speed, I fear I may have lost control of the vehicle as it was jerking and jumping and the vehicle was uncontrollable which would have put other drivers at risk of collision and possible injury. Dealership has confirmed the issue, replaced the rear locker and sensors in the axle, and the symptoms persist for them too. They are currently looking into the electrical system and computer as the root cause. Chrysler is recommending the dealer replace the rear axle as the only means of fixing the issue. Apparently this is a growing issue that Chrysler has been aware of for several years. Vehicle is currently in the shop at the dealership for troubleshooting.
