My ABS module failed on my Jeep wrangler. I have talked to multiple dealerships and every single dealership has stated that this is a known issue on Jeeps and the manufacturers are well aware that there are issues with them. The dealerships have also stated there is no current fix for the ABS modules except sending them out to people who claim they can rebuild them. The majority of companies that claim they can rebuild these modules are fraudulent. This is a major liability, not having proper breaking systems, especially on a vehicle prone to being more unstable on the road due to the nature of its design. I have been dealing with this for at least 4 years with no resolve. Dealerships that claim they can fix them charge outrageous prices. The manufacturers should be held accountable for this inherit design flaw on these vehicle vehicles and issue a recall instead of allowing vehicles braking systems to fail and then making the customers pay to fix them

I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler with 180,000 miles. I never off road the vehicle, but after driving on a dirt road, the stability control kicked in during a turn. At the start of the next drive after that, there were 3 lights on the dashboard: brake, ABS, stability control. Connecting the JScan app to the vehicle, the ABS module is completely unresponsive and the vehicle gives a C2200 error code. There were no symptoms of this issue before this event. This vehicle is available to be inspected any time. Lack of ABS is a very dangerous safety concern, as neither of my children have ever had to drive a vehicle without ABS. After some research, this seems to be a very common problem. After some age and heat cycles, the electronics in the module become weak, and my single use of the Stability control apparently is enough to push the weak electronics over the edge and destroy the module. This has been confirmed through several companies who repair these modules, such as [XXX] , who no longer repairs these modules, apparently because the computer chips are no longer made, and I have heard stories about the chip maker going out of business during covid. It was also confirmed by a local Jeep specialist, and the dealer parts department also tells the same story, people have been waiting on this module for over 2 years now. A manufacturer of this size with this many vehicles affected by such a safety issue should step up and commission another chip manufacturer to make these vehicles road worthy again. The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK. The contact stated that twice while driving approximately 40-60 MPH, the front end was violently shaking. After stopping, the vibration seized, and the vehicle was driven at slower speeds. While driving over a bump or expansion bridge, the failure recurred. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V343000 (Steering). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the steering damper needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

I was driving 70-75 mph on interstate XXX going south from [XXX] to [XXX] after picking up my friends. I had e-save mode on to save the battery for later and out of nowhere the car lost all power and would not accelerate. Some writing flashed across the screen telling me to pull over in the emergency lane and stop and then restart the Jeep in hybrid mode. I had to throw on my hazards and pray someone who wasn't paying attention didn't hit me while I was no longer accelerating and trying to change lanes to get into the emergency lane. One in the emergency lane I was able to shut off the Jeep and restart it but e-save mode was no longer available. I was able to resume driving but only in Hybrid mode. After having the 68C recall completed on December 30, 2025, my 2025 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe has experienced a significant and consistent reduction in power while operating in electric mode. Prior to the recall repair, the vehicle performed as expected. The issues began after the repair was completed. Problems post recall include: -Sluggish and weak acceleration in electric mode -No acceleration in electric mode when driving at highway speeds -Vehicle failing to maintain electric-only operation -Reduced power and speed when in electric mode These issues have created dangerous driving conditions, particularly on highways and during merging situations where adequate power and acceleration are critical to safety. This vehicle was purchased specifically for its hybrid/electric capabilities, which were a primary factor in the buying decision and are reflected in the vehicle's premium price point. It is deeply concerning and feels deceptive that a manufacturer issued recall has effectively degraded or disabled the core electric functionality that consumers paid for. Owners should not have their vehicles made worse by a recall intended to improve safety. I am aware that many other 4xe owners are reporting identical symptoms following the same 68C recall repair, suggesting this is a systemic issue introduced or caused by the recall software or hardwire modification, so this is not an isolated incident.

The clockspring went bad, but the recall for that only applies to 2007-2010 Jeep Wranglers. The airbag light is on, my horn does not work, and the buttons on my steering wheel don't work.

Multiple warning light activations (ABS, TCS, hill descent) diagnosed by mechanic as failed ABS module (combines electronic and hydraulic components) (PN: 68145835AE). I have been on a waiting list for a replacement part from Stellantis for almost a year. Numerous owners report online that this part is unavailable or no longer being manufactured. Stellantis has not publicly acknowledged the problem or provided a proposed solution or timeline. ABS is widely acknowledged as a key component of modern automobile safety systems. Stellantis's failure to provide replacement components for these modern vehicles places the driving public at unnecessary risk. A recommended resolution is that Stellantis provide NHTSA with a credible plan of action to begin providing replacements for this critical component (and other related part numbers).

Unknown. I was driving and my jeep started making g a very loud rattling sound it kept getting louder. Eventually it made a screeching sound and the dash board lit up and it stopped and the engine began to smoke really bad. The engine light came on but I tried my best to make it home. It was towed to the dealership and they said that the engine needed to be replaced because there was a hole in it.

My vehicle was purchased brand new and currently has only about 13,000 miles. Despite this, it is already being recommended for a full engine replacement. The dealership has diagnosed coolant seeping into cylinder 4, indicating a failing head gasket. I do not understand how this could be attributed to me, as the car is still very new and has never overheated. I first noticed the issue in April 2025, when I had to begin regularly adding coolant. I have kept receipts documenting all coolant purchases since that time. However, the dealership is refusing to cover the repair, claiming that I am at fault because I replaced the coolant expansion tank. The timeline clearly shows otherwise. The coolant loss began in April 2025, while the expansion tank was not replaced until July 2025—months after the issue had already started. While the expansion tank is part of the cooling system, it would not cause a head gasket failure. This situation has also created a safety concern for my family, as my wife and child are now afraid to drive the vehicle due to the risk of being stranded where most hawaii roads do not have safe shoulder to pull over on. According to the traffic safety of Honolulu, there are numerous cases where people were killed for being on the side of the road. Given these facts, I am requesting that this matter be reevaluated and that the necessary repairs, including engine replacement if required, be covered under warranty.

On March 19, 2026 I paid $5,778.87 for repairs to my 2018 Wrangler JL. Repairs included the replacement of warped cylinder head and failed head gasket with coolant getting into the combustion chamber, showing up as rough running, misfire, flashing check engine light, and burning coolant smell. On April 18, 2026, at approximately 10:30 pm, after attending the [XXX] concert at Bank of America stadium (+70,000 in attendance), the vehicle stalled and was unable to be restarted or moved to the shoulder of the highway. The vehicle failure occurred on I277 outside of Bank of America Stadium with hundreds of cars passing us as my wife and were stranded in the middle lane. The ABS module (68259556AD) on my 2016 JKU is not working (code C2200) and the part is not available anywhere. I tried buying online and reaching out to a dealership, but everyone acknowledges Stellantis doesn’t have the part available. There are posts on Jeep forums from 2023 from people with the same issue which is causing their Jeeps to go into limp mode at highway speeds. I feel unsafe driving my car and there’s no current way to fix this issue.

Vehicle started missing at around 2000 miles, also a check engine light came on. Took it to Rick Hendrick Jeep and they ended up replacing an oxygen sensor and telling me the Vehicle was not missing even though I have OBD reports showing the engine missing. At around 7000 miles I performed the second oil change on the vehicle, when inspecting the old oil filter I found larger particles of metal in it. I took the vehicle back to Rick Hendrick and the mechanic looked at the filter that was new (only 500 miles) and said he only found glitter. The mechanic said this is normal for break in. The pieces I see in the oil filter are larger and some look like lathe shavings. I have pictures of the metal particles. So I was given back the vehicle and told it's ok. I know it isn't ok with that amount of metal in the engine and am afraid it will leave me stranded on the highway.

On April 17th 2024 my vehicle received a recall update 68C regarding the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle battery. Two days later, I was driving on a major freeway in Southern California, noticed that the EV battery was not being depleted as it remained at 100%. Shortly thereafter, a check engine light came on, and the power was severely restricted. Within a few minutes, the vehicle completely lost power in the middle of the freeway and I was able to get over to the right shoulder. At this point, the vehicle had no power and I could not turn the vehicle off either regarding the electronics. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership in San Diego, and by the time it was at the dealership, the vehicle was in full lockout mode and had zero battery power left and could not even lock the doors. This caused a significant safety hazard as I was with my [XXX] child and the vehicle just completely lost power on the freeway. The vehicle is now at the dealership and they are giving me a very hard time saying that there is nothing wrong with it, but I have read that there have been many problems with this recall update. The dealership told me that the problem was a bad 12 V battery and that I needed to pay to replace that and I argued with them that that was not the problem and they are not addressing the major issue with a complete power loss on the freeway after a required software update that has known problems.
