When turning the steering wheel to the left, the steering wheel jerks and pulls to the left, gets stuck some and the jerk back into place when coming out a left turn or curve to balance steering wheel position. Searched for recall and took to Hyundai but they could not find anything. They say maybe purchase tires, rotate your tires and/or wheel alignment. I have done it all. They said they heard others say that but don't see a recall or know what would cause it. Went on Reddit, and others are having the same problem. Therefore, there is a problem this jerking issue. Coolant system leaks in to the engine or exhaust system, which is evident in white smoke exhaust and coolant level dropping. In my situation, I required an entire container of coolant to perform a daily commute, and the reservoir was empty by the time I made it to the dealership. Car is rendered undrivable due lack of coolant and engine overheating. My car was in the dealership repair facility for 6 weeks awaiting parts on back order due to nationwide shortage. A technical service bulletin has been issued for this manufacturer defect (23-EM-009H). Cost of repairs was roughly $2,300.

2015 Hyundai Sonata - original owners. Started burning and engine light came on at 124,000 miles. Took it to dealer to be diagnosed and have oil changed. They called said engine oil was sludged up, they would not even change the oil, and said it needed the engine replaced $9500. We contacted corporate Hyundai who said there was an extended warranty on the engine if the failure was related to connecting rod bearing wear. We were assigned a case and the rep contacted the dealer who said our vehicle didn’t qualify. In doing research we’ve read that this damage cannot be determined without dropping the oil pan. We questioned the rep about this and was told we didn’t qualify because of the maintenance on the vehicle.

I purchased this vehicle brand new off of the lot February 2024. Since then, I have had two incidents where in the middle of driving my vehicle has completely shut off. The first experience, I was driving 50+ mph. First my headlights went out, my engine shut off, my dashboard shut off, and I was cruising without power or control over my vehicle for about 5 seconds before everything turned back on. I took my car to the dealership where they “could not confirm concern” after driving around for 15 miles trying to recreate the issue. They stated no codes or issues were shown on their end and returned the car to me. 6 months later during late October, my car did the same thing. I was driving 40+ mph and my car shut off in the middle of me driving. I contacted my dealership to inform them it happened again. They told me they did not have any available appointments to bring my car in. Out of frustration I did not bring it in until a few weeks ago for a regular check up. I gave them the exact date and time that my vehicle shut off and they again could not find the issue that caused the car to turn off. I was informed by a Hyundai representative that he anticipates this issue getting worse as it happened twice in the first year of owning it. That when it happens again to get my car towed by Hyundai roadside assistance and straight to the dealership. As stated, I lose complete control of the vehicle. Luckily both instances I have been on a straight road but I have concerns that this could happen at the wrong time leaving my injured.

The DAW (Driver Attention Warning) system is obtrusive and a distraction to safe driving. The alert makes an audible "Beep" and the drivers display lights up with a warning to "Take a break". This alert will continue every 5 minutes if on a winding road until the car is stopped and the engine is turned off. When operating the vehicle in a safe manner keeping my eyes on the road and having the beeping and warning lights distracting me is quite the opposite of its intended purpose. In previous year models this could be turned off by the owner. This is not so with the 2024, 2025 models. This is not isolated to this vehicle but a search of the internet will find many frustrated owners all voicing their concerns. A safety alert system should not become a safety hazard. The dealer has no solution. The alert system cannot be turned off or it's sensitivity adjusted. The manufacturer has so far not responded to my complaints.

The 12 v battery drains repeatedly causing the car to be without power . Requires opening the car with a manual key . Happens within as little of 3 days of not being driven . Dealer stated battery was without issues has continued to occur . Loses potential safety risk as entry into car becomes compromised especially if cold outside

When you accidently hit the side of the brake pedal or slightly touch the brake pedal there is a rubber brake pedal stopper that engages the brake light switch. The brake pedal stopper eventually gets a hole in the middle and will not completely push the tab on the brake light switch all the way and sometime it will not completely release. When this happens and you try to accelerate the car with the gas pedal the car will not respond. In fact, it will actually start to decelerate. This is dangerous if you are trying to pass a vehicle or trying to make a turn with oncoming traffic because the car is slow to respond. Sometimes the car will not respond when you are at a dead stop and press the accelerator. When you pump the gas the switch will let loose from the rubber pedal stopper that is holding it and the car will jump forward suddenly. You could rear end another car very easily. Go to this YouTube video for a better explanation: [XXX] . This condition has happened multiple times and occurs randomly. I have been fortunate not to have an accident. A $3.00 part suppose to fix the problem but most technicians don't know about this simple fix. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that there was white smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. While driving at approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact coasted right into the neighborhood and stopped in front of the neighbor's home. The vehicle remained parked. The contact stated that the front driver’s side seat belt failed to lock in the latch intermittently. The contact spoke with the dealer, before the failure, who confirmed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V226000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); because the vehicle was previously inspected under the recall and it was deemed that the engine did not need to be replaced, and that the recall was closed. The dealer was not contacted after the failure. The vehicle was diagnosed or repaired for engine or seat belt failures. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 169,000.

My family purchased the vehicle as a gift to me in 2018. It had 17,000 miles on it and was previously owned by an older woman who hardly used it, according to the salesman at North Freeway Hyundai in Spring, TX. In 2019, the AC compressor failed in the middle of summer. In Texas, being in a car with no AC in the summertime can and has been deadly. I had the part replaced at the same dealership as mentioned above. The part began to fail again at the end of 2024. When doing research on the issue, it came to my attention that this is a known issue pertaining to my vehicle, and that Hyundai is aware. Again, particularly in the south, this IS a safety hazard. Hyundai confirms that a couple different issues with the car can cause a “premature failure” of the compressor. I’ve replaced it once before and it’s incredibly expensive, and I don’t think it should already be failing again, and it sounds like Hyundai agrees with me. The logical thing to do here is to issue a recall on the part, which would allow myself and others with this issue to get it fixed at no cost. I can’t afford a major repair like this, as I just recently replaced the catalytic converter and o2 sensors as well. This cost should not be placed on the consumer when Hyundai is seemingly aware there is an issue.

While driving the vehicle under normal conditions, the vehicle lost power. Eps, and oil lights came on engine completely shut off. I changed belt, alternator and starter. It rolled over 3 times and seized. There doesnt appear to be a rod slung, or cracks in the block, but ive spent almost 2000 dollars trying to get it running and have another 1300 in parts waiting to rebuild the motor.I know there is a recall on the motors, but never received mail or any attempt at engine replacement.

On February 15, I was on my way heading back home driving in the freeway went my car randomly started jerking. I pull over to the side on the road pop the engine, did a visible check and i didn’t see anything. I went back on the road and it happened again, this time my check engine light came on and the car car started to knock very bad since then. I did a diagnostic scan and a code, P1326 came up saying that something is wrong with my knock sensor. Went and took it to a mechanic and I was told that my engine is gone and I need to replace it. Also that Hyundai has been having issues of the engine for a while.

My Hyundai is having oil consumption issues, Hyundai isn't stepping up and won't pay for my consumption test saying it's out of warranty, it's a 2019 with only 69895 miles on it. We are the second owner and there's been no maintenance done on this car for the year that we've owned it. We have all the oil change records and although we didn't start until January to regularly record the oil we were needing to put in we only get about 600 miles before we need to had 3/4 to 1 full quart. I know this is an issue that's been happening to numerous Hyundai owners and I'm reaching out as I feel something more needs to be done. I have a 2013 Sonata that had a recall on it and I got a full engine replacement on that at 135,000 miles. Is NHTSA looking at recognizing this as something that Hyundai needs to take ownership of? I apologize for rambling, but this is so frustrating. Thank you for your time, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
