Loss of power while driving on highway, would not speed up. Shaky driving. Appeared to go into limp mode. Dealer informed me that the transmission valve body will need to be replaced. No prior messages or alerts, check engine light came on after power loss.

Nothing has happened yet. However, after only 308 miles… my 2026 Denali is knocking and ticking very loud. Why? How is this possible? We’ve only had it 2 weeks! I have only driven it 5-6 times in the past 14-15 days, too worried that this might happen. But I was reassured by the dealership it wouldn’t. But here I am now. I am so disappointed. Being a Disabled Vet I thought we could have something that we both liked. Now I am upset because I feel betrayed and lied to. I did a video but it’s too large to upload so I can’t get it under 10MB.

Monday, March 30, 2026 my GMC Yukon Denali had already had the recall pico test and was told it passed on September 2025 six months later March 30, 2026, driving to pick up my wife from work a tapping sound coming from the engine started and about a mile down the road from when I first heard the tapping the engine started juttering and the noise got louder like a clunking sound. I had to pull off the road into a gas station and use the OnStar to get assistance the vehicle was towed to a local San Antonio dealership Cavender Buick West they gave me a loaner vehicle the next morning and the day after that Wednesday I was informed that yes they confirmed the engine will have to get replaced so now I am waiting for that. I was told by the dealer it could take up to two months for them to receive a replacement engine and once they receive the engine, it can take roughly for maybe five days for turnaround. I inquired whether the replacement engine isn’t upgraded engine or is it the same engine that has all the problems I haven’t received an answer for that yet. I am awaiting that answer from my service advisor. He said he is looking into that.

- #11728908April 2, 2026ENGINE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The brake system control module, engine control module, and vehicle stability control system have repeatedly failed across 24 months and 9 repair attempts at two authorized GMC dealerships in Tennessee. As of March 17, 2026 the vehicle has 27 active diagnostic fault codes including U160F and U1610 (brake system control module lost communication on both CAN buses), U1611 (engine control module lost communication), and C2A0A (vehicle stability control disabling inhibited). All components are available for inspection at Beaman GMC in Antioch, Tennessee where the vehicle currently remains in an undrivable condition. Safety risk: Vehicle has stalled on the highway with my family including young children in the car. Brakes have randomly engaged over 100 times with nothing around and also failed to engage when needed. Stability control is disabled. These are active safety failures confirmed by GMC's own diagnostic scans. The problems have been confirmed by both Darrell Waltrip GMC and Beaman GMC across 9 visits. GMC's own Technical Assistance Center (Case XXX) was involved and could not resolve the defects. The vehicle was returned with more active codes than at drop-off after 57 consecutive days in GMC custody. Two unresolved GMC safety recalls are open on this vehicle — L87 engine loss of propulsion (N252494003) and brake fluid leak detection failure — directly related to the reported defects. Warning codes have been present and documented since October 2023 beginning at 1,381 miles. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

From the time i got my 2024 yukon denali i have had problems with the electrical systems not working, it was in the shop for 2 months upon delivery to me when it was brand new, and since then i have had issues with the engine racing, the start button not working, or cutting off and on , on its own, recently the motor cuts on but never turns over. It has been in the shop again for over a week now and they replaced the engine control module and it is still doing the same thing. The dealership is now telling me its a wiring issue causing it. It has been something the entire time I have owned it. I paid 90k for a vehicle that has major issues. I am looking into the Lemon law in my state of NC, and filing a complaint with GMC to see if I can get a replacement vehicle or traded.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The vehicle experienced a malfunction associated with a failed Over-The-Air (OTA) software update affecting electronic control modules. The (ECM), (BCM), and related electronic systems appeared to lose stability during operation. The vehicle attempted to reboot while being driven and displayed multiple system warnings. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and is available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? While driving, the vehicle began malfunctioning and attempting system reboots. The dashboard flickered, warning lights, and the vehicle exhibited unstable behavior. During a prior event, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration and abrupt deceleration. This created a risk of loss of vehicle control, particularly in traffic. I have small children in this vehicle, and the unpredictable electronic behavior while in motion posed a significant safety concern. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The dealership confirmed that a previous event was caused by a failed OTA software update. The vehicle has since malfunctioned again while driving and has been taken back to the dealership for further inspection. The dealership has acknowledged module instability and opened a TAK case with the manufacturer. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has been inspected by GMC1 dealership. A case has been opened with GM Customer Care. No police or insurance reports. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? 9 days prior to the first major malfunction, the check engine light illuminate. On April 1, the check engine light re-appeared and the vehicle attempted to reboot again while driving.

Months ago I took my car to the dealer for the engine failure recall and they said there were no issues and changed the oil to a higher viscosity oil. Today I was driving and my engine failed while turning onto a busy road and took multiple tries to get started. It finally started and the engine light was flashing. The dealer told me th flashing engine light was bad and to not drive at all. I pulled over and had it towed to the dealer. The engine light stopped flashing. The dealer said they pulled a code on the computer and would look at it. They had my car for a full day so far and have said they can't find an issue. I do not feel safe having my family in this car when the engine can fail and they say nothing is wrong. I am lucky that I wasn't hit at the location it failed at.

While driving on the interstate at highway speed, the vehicle suddenly lost acceleration and stalled. I was forced to pull over. After stopping, the vehicle displayed a message to restart, but it would not start. All electronic accessories (lights, dash, etc.) remained functional, but the vehicle would not shift into drive or neutral. The message “Conditions Not Correct for Shift” appeared. Nearly rear ended, this created a dangerous situation due to loss of power in active traffic and inability to move the vehicle on a 250,000 vehicle per day very busy tollway.

My transmission control valve failed while I was driving causing my speed to reduce on a high speed high. I know longer could go in reverse, about 35mph or above 2nd gear. This is a known issue on the 10 speed transmission for 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon however my vin number was not included in the recall but it happened to me. This was a terrifying situation and i am so shocked as to why my vehicle was not included in the recall to begin with.

6.2 Liter Engine failed at 34,000 miles. The engine failure was confirmed by Luther Brookdale GMC in Brooklyn Center Minnesota. They said the engine failed and replaced it with a new 6.2L engine as part of the recall. No warning lights, or indication of failure, some very minor noises were coming from the engine. It did not fail on the highway, but at the dealer but could have killed my family if it happened on the highway.

The contact's daughter owns a 2021 GMC Yukon. While the owner was driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal ticking sound coming from the engine compartment. The sound was intermittent but frequent. The vehicle stalled intermittently with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who advised that the vehicle needed to be taken to a dealer for additional assistance. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but it was not yet diagnosed. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not associated with the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 154,000.

My 2025 GMC Yukon's infotainment system has repeatedly failed. The huge center screen frequently goes black upon starting the car. Once the screen goes black you are unable to control literally dozens of the vehicle's features including but not limited to climate controls, safety features, heated/ventilated seats, gps, lane assist, the radio, no backup camera, etc. When the screen blacks out, the vehicle automatically turns the heat on to 76 degrees every single time and blows hot air from the front windshield defogger vents only. The list of features controlled by the touch screen is quite enormous. I have taken the vehicle to the GMC dealer four (4) times for software updates, none of which solved the problem and they have admitted they have no fix for this issue. The issue is widespread, as I have encountered literally hundreds of owners online like myself dealing with the very same problem; brand new cars that just do not work. GMC has done absolutely nothing to get to the bottom of this.

ngine seized (according to GMC dealership service department). I was driving 75mph down the highway and the car shut down. I noticed it losing power so I was able to get off at the exit ramp, but not in a safe location. The car shut completely down in the right lane at the stop sign. Approximately 7:50pm car broke down - stuck on the road until 10:22pm. Yes safety of myself and others were put at risk. We purchased the car 2 weeks ago with no signs of issues. Bought the car with 103,499 miles. The car had very well maintained service records as well at time of purchase. We towed the car to the GMC dealership and they said the engine is seized up. No warning lamps or messages at time of failure. I drove the car early that day and it was running fine. I do not have any documents to upload at this time. Since this all happened on Friday and we are just now getting the report back today (Tuesday).

Was driving approximately 70 miles per hour on the highway. While driving the vehicle just stopped in the middle of the highway after going 70 miles per hour. Was unable to put car in park. Car just shut off. Four police cars had to surround car due to being stuck in the middle of the highway with my small child in the car. Took an hour to get a tow truck. Being told our engine is now completely shot.

While driving my 2022 GMC Yukon Denali at interstate highway speed, the engine suddenly failed without any prior warning. At the time of the incident, the vehicle had approximately 65,000 miles. There were no warning lights illuminated before or during the failure. The engine immediately began running rough, produced abnormal knocking/ticking noise, and then completely lost power. This created a dangerous situation, as I was traveling at highway speed and suddenly could not maintain speed with surrounding traffic. I had to quickly maneuver out of traffic and safely reach the shoulder to avoid a potential accident. Due to the complete loss of engine power, the vehicle was inoperable and had to be towed from the scene. The vehicle has been properly maintained and has not had any prior mechanical issues. I contacted a dealership, but as of now, the vehicle has not yet been inspected or diagnosed. Based on the symptoms, the failure appears consistent with a lifter-related engine issue reported in similar vehicles. The sudden and complete loss of power without warning presents a serious safety concern.
