My 2026 GMC Yukon AT4 (VIN [XXX] ) has a manufacturing defect in the second-row driver-side captain's chair. The C-clamp / latch mechanism that secures the seat to the floor was depressed (partially released position) at delivery on [XXX]. I was able to manipulate the latch enough to work but the release trigger then would not depress to release the seat back from a tumble position. My [XXX] daughter's car seat usually sits in this seat. This is safety-critical for two reasons. First, the second-row captain's chair is the anchored platform for my child's car seat. A seat not fully and correctly latched to the floor compromises the LATCH and tether load path that every car-seat manufacturer's certified installation depends on. Second, a captain's chair that will not fold or tumble blocks emergency egress for third-row occupants in a crash, fire, or rollover, and blocks rescue access to a trapped child in the second row. This appears to implicate FMVSS 207 (Seating Systems) and FMVSS 225 (Child Restraint Anchorage Systems). The vehicle is approximately 16 weeks old and was sold to me with this defect present from delivery. This is one of two manufacturing safety defects on this vehicle within thirty days; the other is a spontaneously shattered panoramic moonroof (NHTSA #11738557) on [XXX] in Mississippi, filed separately. Both defects involve the same area — directly above and at the seating position where my [XXX] daughter rides daily. The vehicle is at the dealer awaiting parts (moonroof on back order to ~June 1, 2026; over six weeks out of service). I urge NHTSA to track this complaint and similar reports on the 2025-2026 full-size SUV platform for consideration of a defect investigation. While operating my 2026 GMC Yukon AT4 (VIN [XXX] ) on [XXX] Pelahatchie, Mississippi, the panoramic moonroof spontaneously shattered at highway speed. No impact, no debris strike, no external cause. The failure produced a violent report and showered tempered glass into the cabin, forcing an emergency stop on the shoulder during heavy commercial truck traffic — a serious secondary-collision risk caused directly by the failure. I spent hours roadside clearing glass and duct-taping the open roof aperture to make the vehicle minimally drivable. Nighttime wind forced an unplanned overnight stay in north Alabama before a multi-hundred-mile drive back to Washington, DC with the vehicle compromised. In DC, I was forced to park the visibly compromised vehicle in a high-foot-traffic area with work valuables that could not be removed, then drive 20 miles to the dealer in heavy rain the next morning — exposing cabin, electrical systems, child seating positions, and headliner to water intrusion. The shattered glass fell directly above the second-row positions where my [XXX] and [XXX] daughters ride daily. They were not present. Had they been, close-range tempered glass would have created serious risk of injury to face, eyes, and airway, plus driver-distraction crash risk at highway speed. The vehicle is approximately [XXX] weeks old. This is the second manufacturing safety defect in under one month — the first a second-row driver-side captain's chair latch defect, filed separately. Replacement moonroof glass is on national back order until ~June 1, 2026; the vehicle will be out of service over six weeks. NHTSA's 2017-2021 panoramic sunroof investigation closed without action despite thousands of similar complaints. The pattern continues into the 2026 model year on GM's flagship full-size SUV. I urge NHTSA to track this and similar reports across the 2025-2026 Yukon, Tahoe, Suburban, and Escalade for a defect investigation. The contact owns a 2026 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that the vehicle was purchased, the contact stated that, because of the open recall, the vehicle was not released to the contact. The contact referenced the open recall, NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V304000 (Wheels) however the parts were unavailable. The dealer informed the contact that the parts were unavailable. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact had not experienced any failure.

My 2021 GMC Yukon AT4 with a 5.3L engine failed as I was driving down a highway going to my child's ballgame. It put me at risk of wrecking on the highway with other traffic around me as I needed to get my vehicle off the road way. Thankfully, I was able to get the vehicle to a safe spot to get it towed. After having the vehicle towed to my local GMC dealer, they determined my lifters in my engine failed and my camshaft had irreparable damage. GM has a lawsuit going on right now against their faulty lifters in their engines. The dealership told me they recalled the 6.2L engine, but not the others. It is shameful that they haven't recalled the other engines that also have the same lifters with the same active fuel management system. My power trained warranty has just expired and they want to charge me over 15,000 to replace the engine and radiator. I am now fighting with GM to help cover this expense that I feel a recall should take care of. These vehicles are not safe on the road with these faulty engine systems specifically the lifters inside them that are known to fail and GM is aware of this and not doing anything. Please help me and other GM owners get these vehicles recalled and make GM replace these engines at no cost to the owner due to their faulty engine components. My daughter and I could have been seriously been injured or died that day in the highway due to the abrupt engine failure on the highway going 70mph. Thank you for your time and God Bless.

The vehicle experienced repeated failures involving the Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System, and Check Engine system. Warning indicators for the ESC, traction control, and check engine illuminated while operating the vehicle. The issue has occurred on two separate occasions. The first incident occurred on May 4, 2026. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for inspection and repair, and the dealership advised that the issue had been corrected. However, the same problem reoccurred on May 7, 2026. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership service department, and the malfunction was confirmed. The affected components and vehicle are available for inspection upon request. The failure created a significant safety concern because the ESC and traction control systems are critical safety features designed to assist with vehicle stability, traction, and driver control, particularly during emergency maneuvers or adverse road conditions. The warning indicators raised concerns that the vehicle could unexpectedly lose stability assistance, traction management, or engine performance while driving. This placed the driver and others at risk because the vehicle’s ability to respond safely during normal or emergency driving conditions could have been compromised. The repeated recurrence of the issue, even after dealership repair attempts, raises concern regarding the reliability and effectiveness of the corrective action performed.

My engine ticks, and during the winter, I noticed white smoke coming from exhaust pipes in cold and warm weather. I believe there may be an issue with my engine. My vehicle is not on the list provided, and I’m concerned that the dealership responsible for my oil change package will not identify the problem, possibly because newly hired mechanics may lack the experience to make an accurate diagnosis. I’m afraid my vehicle will be overlooked intentionally.

For the third time, my vehicle died on me while I was driving; 2 of those times were on the highway going highway speeds. The last (3rd) time, I was towing my travel trailer/RV on the highway. In all incidents, the engine stopped propelling the vehicle. I could see and hear the engine revving but I failed to accelerate. After various warnings on the dash, I was able to pull safely off the road and then the engine just stopped, and nothing else worked. It failed to restart. This could have been a potentially dangerous situation because had I not been able to safely pull over, I would have been rear-ended. My vehicle was not part of the L87 recall for the 6.2L GM engines but the symptoms sound the same as those that were. The recall probably should have been expanded beyond the dates that GM originally included.

I am filing this complaint regarding my GMC Yukon Denali, currently at Greg Lair GMC in Canyon, Texas, for GM Safety Recall N252494000, NHTSA Campaign Number 25V274, L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion. My vehicle has been at the dealership for over two weeks for this recall, which in my case requires a complete engine replacement. I have been advised the repair may take another 4 to 5 weeks. During this time, neither General Motors nor Greg Lair GMC has provided a comparable loaner vehicle or adequate transportation. This is not routine maintenance, elective service, or damage caused by me. My vehicle is unavailable because of a GM safety recall involving potential engine damage, engine failure, and loss of propulsion. The burden of this manufacturer issue should not be placed on the customer. I was told GM only can reimburse $44 per day for a rental. That amount does not reasonably cover a comparable vehicle to a Yukon Denali and may not even cover a basic rental in the current market. A compact sedan or small vehicle is not an acceptable substitute for a full size SUV. I pay for and rely on a Yukon Denali because my family needs the seating capacity, space, size, safety, and functionality of a full size vehicle. My family has more people than seats available in many compact vehicles. Being forced into a smaller vehicle is not only inconvenient, it creates a safety and functionality concern. If this recall is widespread and repair times are expected to take several weeks, General Motors should have ensured that dealerships had access to comparable loaner vehicles or adequate rental authorization. I should not have to compromise my family’s safety, transportation needs, work obligations, or daily responsibilities because of a manufacturer safety recall and complete engine replacement. I am requesting that this complaint be documented and reviewed. General Motors and Greg Lair GMC should provide a comparable full size SUV loaner, arrange and pay for a full size SUV

I am filing this formal complaint to report a series of catastrophic, life-threatening mechanical failures involving my 2023 GMC Yukon. This vehicle has become a weapon on the road, exhibiting erratic behaviors that nearly resulted in a multi-vehicle fatality on a high-speed highway.1. High-Speed Power Loss (Highway Failure while my wife was traveling at 60 MPH in heavy highway traffic, the vehicle’s transmission spontaneously and without warning disengaged and shifted into Neutral. This caused an immediate and total loss of motive power. In a split second, my wife was left piloting a 6,000-pound unpowered projectile in the middle of high-speed traffic. By the grace of God alone, she managed to navigate to the shoulder without being rear-ended. This is a clear "Sudden Loss of Motive Power" defect that poses an immediate threat to life. 2. Unintended Directional Movement (Reverse Shift) Following a total engine replacement—a repair that took over 45 days—the vehicle has now developed a new, terrifying defect. While stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle spontaneously engaged in Reverse. This unintended movement occurred without driver input, creating a high risk of pedestrian strikes and intersection collisions. 3. Systematic Failure and Dealer Evasion The vehicle previously exhibited "ghost shifts" into Park and Neutral at low speeds. Despite my repeated warnings to the General Motors service department, I was dismissed until the engine ultimately failed. Furthermore, the dealership has been inconsistent and evasive regarding the serial numbers of the replacement components, leading me to believe that unsafe or defective parts are being recycled into these vehicles. General Motors is aware of these powertrain defects, yet they continue to allow these "death traps" to remain on the road. My family will not be the "crash test dummies" for GM’s manufacturing negligence

I was traveling with my family on the Ohio Turnpike. We were traveling west in our 2023 GMC Yukon Denali when we lost all propulsion and the engine seized. There was no warning lights or other symptoms prior to this incident on May 3, 2026. In fact, I had the vehicle in for the prescribed recall to test the engine for the known defect earlier in 2026. The vehicle passed that test and was given the upgraded oil change to presumably prevent the engine failure in the future. It did not work. Our safety and others on the turnpike were at risk while we were traveling at highway rates of speed with sudden loss of all propulsion. The vehicle was towed that evening to local GM dealer - Yark Chevy in [XXX] . Upon inspection on May 5, 2026, the dealership informed me the engine had seized and would be replaced by GM. They were unable to provide a timeline for this repair. I have the tow expense of $260.70 and now the uncertainty of when I might have a vehicle back. The safety of my family and all others traveling the Ohio Turnpike that date were at significant risk. The vehicle remains at Yark Chevy in Perrysburg, Ohio available for inspection upon request. While my husband was driving me and our 2 kids getting off of the highway, we experienced catastrophic engine failure. The engine just shut off with NO warning. It went in to Neutral and then park and shut off and would not turn back on. We were stranded on the side of the road in the dark while it was raining. We waited on an active roadway for 1 hour for a tow to come. It was towed to the dealership. The dealership reported that the engine is blown and that they ordered a replacement. I have a case open with GM who has confirmed the engine replacement is under warranty but what is to say this won’t happen again with the new engine ? The vehicle is not safe.

Hello, I was driving on the highway with my family and my engine had a sudden loss of power. I only have 52,000 miles on the engine and it has been serviced the entire time. We almost got in a major accident as we had cars and trucks moving around us at a very high speed as we tried to pull over in the breakdown lane. I brought the car to Daddario GMC in Shelton, CT. They did a diagnostic test and said that cylinder 2 was misfiring. Upon closer inspection they saw that there was oil sitting on top of the piston head which indicates engine failure. I have since contacted GM warranty services given my car was just past the warranty date of November 2025, but still under the 60,000 miles of coverage. I did some research and have seen this is a very common with these engines as GM did a recall on 600,000 already. For some reason my VIN # is not listed on the current recall even though my engine is in the same year as the others that were. I would like GM to cover my engine 100% but was told they may only pay a % to fix it. Can you do anything to help me get them to cover the engine at 100%? I also wanted to let you know about this issue as my VIN was not under recall and this may happen to other people/families who have the same engine as mine that isn't recalled. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
