The contact called on behalf of her husband who owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while her husband was driving on the highway at 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled, with the “Low Power Mode” message displayed, and within 3-5 seconds there was a large cloud of smoke coming from the front end of the engine bay, and the vehicle proceeded to slow down. The driver pulled over onto the side of the highway. The vehicle was not able to be restarted; however, while attempting to restart the vehicle there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine. On or about [XXX], [XXX] I contacted Ford customer relations about the roof installed molding Rear mounting points had broken apart on my vehicle (both sides) and the molding is lifting up. Advised that if could become dislodged during operation. Received a Case # [XXX]. After several calls, I was told no action will be taken on their part because the vehicle over 3yrs old. I contacted the local Ford dealership (Lafayette Ford) and was told by one of the addon tech that it's a known issue and that Ford currently carries the newly designed replacement part. He spoke to manager in the service department . He then sttn that I would need to get a case number, I told him that I'd had one and provided it to him. More phone calls made and they will not change their position. On 11/1/2024 I was told that the case was closed almost immediately after it was opened. Ms Tara sttd that the supervisor was going to request that the case be reopened. 11/18/2024, I called back because of no response. Ms Jaclyn sttn, not covered, Ford not doing anything. I don't know how long or when they broke. The roof has never been used to carry anything. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My truck started having the extended start a couple of years ago. It seems when it's warmer outside, sometimes, it will crank for an excessive amount of time before it will start. It was very intermittent and hard to determine exactly when this would occur. Someone told me it was the fuel pump and that the fuel pumps in certain Ford Super Duty models were just faulty. A couple of weeks ago, I was pulling onto the highway from a stop. My check engine light came on and the truck almost stalled. There was a vehicle that had to brake suddenly to avoid this. Now I notice that when I give the truck gas when it's in a higher gear, it hesitates and starts jerking back and forth. I can't drive it now. I know it's the fuel pump. I also have a neighbor that has a 2019 F-250 truck and his truck is doing the exact same thing right now. He said he's had the extended crank for a few years occur to him as well. He contacted the dealership and they told him it's a known issue with the fuel pumps in the Super Duty trucks. There are many videos online of folks reporting the exact same thing as my truck and my neighbors truck. However, we have gas engines and not the diesel engines. I feel the recent recall should be extended to all Super Duty trucks and don't just think it's an issue with the diesel trucks. I'm just wondering if anyone has looked into all the fuel pumps Ford is putting into their Super Duty trucks. It's crazy how so many people are having problems with them whether they have the gas engine or the diesel engines. Thanks!

transfer case is shifting from 2 wheel high to 4 wheel high while driving down the highway. it does not engage the the 4wheel drive front hubs when doing this so no indication this is happening. eventually the shift fork breaks and transfer case is then either locked in 4 wheel high without knowing or the transfer case goes to a neutral position and loss of all power. in the my incident i was driving on the interstate and transfer case went to neutral without warning. i was in the middle of 4 lanes of traffic and total loss of movement. i was able to navigate the truck to the side of the interstate safely. however had this been in the middle of rush hour traffic this would most likely been a fatality report with multiple cars involved. After discussions with ford techs i was advised this is an ongoing issue that has not been addressed by ford and they are seeing more and more of these issues, so much so that their transmission techs are backed up for 3-5 weeks with these repairs. seems to me this kind of failure nhtsa would be very aware of and demanding a recall be issued to fix this issue. rather the owners are eating the cost of repair for a blatant safety issue being over looked.

I am the original owner of this 2021 F250, (by my notes, dates & miles may differ slightly by Ford/Dealer records) I first noticed Death-Wobble around [XXX] @ 3,040 miles & Ron Alpen Ford checked factory alignment & ordered an updated steering stabilizer. Updated steering stabilizer was on back order until around 8/8/23 @ 26,647 miles when it was installed on the F250. As you can see, over two thirds of this truck's three year bumper to bumper warranty was dissolved by back order. This is where I believe Ford Motor Company's engineering group got involved & recommended a custom alignment, I believe this was performed by Ron Alpen Ford around 4/8/24 @ 33,486 miles. As you can see, over half of this truck's remaining warranty was dissolved waiting on Ford Motor Company's assistance. Ford Motor Company fell silent after recommending I take the truck to a different Ford Dealer for a second opinion... I still do not believe a second opinion was the correct opinion of Ford... Ford should have supported Ron Alpen Ford further in this repair. I set up an appointment at Courtesy Ford, Courtesy had the truck for two full weeks straight... Ford claimed that the truck had conveniently made it outside of the warranty period... 12/3/24 @ 35,922 Courtesy replaced the drag link & the steering stabilizer a SECOND time as the continuing death-wobble had destroyed the first updated steering dampener at my expense because the truck was conveniently out of the 3 year warranty period... Courtesy also decided to return the truck to its original factory alignment even though they were asked not to. Death-wobble continued as of [XXX] @ 36,105 miles. I have contacted Ford Motor Company, Ron Alpen Ford & Courtesy Ford on 12/11/24 to inform them the truck still has Death-Wobble & as of 12/27/24 no reply from any one. I have called Courtesy Ford requesting my money back because they guaranteed the truck would be fixed & it clearly is not.
