When starting from a stop or rolling slowly under 15 mph, pressing the accelerator pedal — even flooring it — produces no engine or motor response for 1–3 seconds. The vehicle then suddenly accelerates. This occurs intermittently on both electric and gas power. Safety concern because it delays merging or pulling out into traffic.

I have been trying to get a recall situated with Ford now for almost a year. They say they have no fix. I am making payments on truck and can’t use it like I should be. Even came out of my own pocket and had ford install a new fuel pump however problem came back. Just not fair I purchased a vehicle from A reputable company and they will not help me at all. Not even a loaner.

Submitted the vehicle for recall repairs under recalls 25v315, 25v455, 25v104 and 25v517. Maintenance was scheduled to last less than a day. When I returned for the vehicle, I was informed the update had caused several module components to "brick." They informed me they had to receive authority from form to order new components and attempts another repair. I called March 17 for an update and was told the new components bricked again and that the issue was elevated to Ford engineering. Called Ford customer service and was given a case number [XXX]. Call Ford customer service March 30 and was told there is no update, fix or estimate of when a repair might be available. The contact owns a 2024 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his wife was in the process of parking the vehicle on the side of the street, the driver released the accelerator pedal; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended, jolted forward, and hit one unoccupied and parked vehicle, and hit another occupied vehicle stopped at the stop light. The air bags did not deploy. The driver sustained nerve pain, causing the fingers to become numb, and the driver sustained headaches, back, hips, and shoulder pain. It was unknown whether the other driver sustained injuries. The contact's wife drove to an emergency room after the collision and received medical assistance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to an auto collision repair shop, where it was serviced for the collision damage. An independent mechanic had diagnosed the vehicle with a one-pedal driving system and ABS failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the insurance company for assistance. The failure mileage was 13,290.

I am reporting a serious and ongoing transmission problem with my Ford F-150 that creates a safety hazard while driving. The transmission shifts very harshly and makes a loud thumping noise, especially when accelerating after braking in traffic. There are multiple occasions where I press the gas pedal and the vehicle does not move at all. After a delay, it suddenly engages with a very hard impact that feels like the vehicle has been hit from behind. This issue is extremely dangerous, especially in heavy traffic and on highways, because the vehicle hesitates or fails to move when attempting to accelerate. This puts me at risk of being rear-ended or causing an accident. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership multiple times. The transmission has been replaced three times, but the same issue continues to occur. Despite this, the dealer has returned the vehicle to me stating that no problem was found. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle, especially on highways, and it is my primary transportation to work. The problem remains unresolved despite repeated repair attempts. I believe this is a serious defect that needs investigation.

My family and I were merging onto the highway when without warning, the automatic transmission bucked, making a loud thump sound, then it lost power nearly causing a severe accident. The transmission then began to hunt for gears, seemingly confused. It even cycled through 1st gear, my heart dropped, but luckily it did not engage 1st gear since that would have caused havoc at highway speeds. Afterwards, the vehicle regained some power but was suddenly limited to only two gears (5th and 9th). I immediately drove home, when entering my driveway the transmission could not engage reverse. Therefore I had to roll it in using forward momentum. I just had the vehicle serviced a few days ago because this issue happened before (not as severe). However, I was told the vehicle was operating fine and a leaky transmission pan was the culprit. After the transmission pan was replaced, I picked up the vehicle just yesterday (4/11/26), and this incident occurred today,(4/12/26). Please help, this transmission was rebuilt by Ford under warranty (60k mile powertrain warranty) just two years ago due to the notorious defects that have been ongoing. I contacted Ford corporate but they've refused to provide any help. This problem was confirmed by Ford corporate and the dealer, which led to the initial transmission rebuild (in 2024). However I fear this defect may not be repairable since the issue has returned and is more severe. I believe Ford was aware of this defect and did not disclose this information to me prior to buying. If I had known, I wouldn't have purchased this vehicle. Thank you for any support you could provide on this matter.

The Transmission Started suddenly, downshifting from high gear to a lower gear at speed, non-sequential and unexpected. I.e., not regular accelerations shifting from 6th to 5th, but a hard, sudden, unexpected shift from 5th to 1st. causing jerking and high rpms. Subsequently, it has not downshifted and has remained stuck in a higher gear at a complete stop, like at a traffic light in 5th or 6th gear, increasing the risk of being unable to accelerate from a stop if needed.

My 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning caught fire while parked in my driveway. The vehicle was NOT charging at the time of the incident. There were no warning lights, alerts, or prior mechanical issues before the fire. At the time, I was inside my home asleep when my children alerted me that the truck was “exploding.” I immediately went outside and attempted to move another vehicle and control the fire using a water hose, but the fire spread rapidly and became uncontrollable. The fire department later arrived and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was a total loss. The fire also caused: Damage to my dump trailer Damage to landscaping Damage to a wall on my property Battery-related debris and residue left on my driveway This debris is still present and I am concerned it may be hazardous, especially since I have children and a dog at home. The incident caused serious emotional distress to my family, who witnessed the fire, and significant financial loss. My insurance company (Allstate) is covering the remaining loan balance, but I am still left with financial loss from payments already made and property damage. Police report number: VV260910161 Fire department report: (pending) I have not received any communication from Ford Motor Company regarding this incident.

This is in reference to recall #23S65. I have been to two different Ford Service Centers over the last 2 years (2024 thru 2026). NO Ford service center has completed recall #23S65 on my 2022 F150. The Ford service centers talks about waiting for parts on order. However, the parts NEVER arrive. How can you accomplish a recall with no parts?? *What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -The vehicle downshifts suddenly and hard-shifts down on its own. It is worriesome as it randomly happens and oftentimes at high speeds. Yes it is available for immediate inspection. *How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -On more than one occasion the vehicle has suddenly downshifted causing a hard noticeable jerk at random speeds. I am worried that at higher speeds it can lockup and cause a serious accident with my kids in the car. *Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -I have taken it to Ford on several occasions in the past but said they didn't notice anything, but I recently took it again and explained the downshift and hard-shift again and now they told me it needs a full transmission replacement that would cost close to $8000 dollars. *Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? -The vehicle has been taken to Ford on multiple occasions but they did not find any issues at first. I took it again as it has happened more often and now they tell me it requires a full transmission replacement. *Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -The issue first appeared last year, I took it and told them that it had a suttle jerk and asked them to inspect and if there were any recalls. No warning lights. *I am seriously concerned for my safety, it is my only good vehicle and worried it can cause an accident with my kids in the vehicle.
