When taking a turn from one street to another, my truck made a loud noise and every light went on my dash. A bunch of error messages then my truck stopped and could not move anymore. It could not shift either. I ws stuck in the middle of road then I had to pay to get it towed to the nearest Ford dealership on March 10th 2026. It is now May 5th. and I am still awaiting the fix of my truck. They say it is due to not having the parts to fix it. It is for the recall 25S82, but it is now almost 2 whole months with nothing.

My 2023 Ford F-150 is not drivable due to Ford safety recall 25S82 / NHTSA 25V512. Dealer states parts are on national backorder and Ford Customer Relationship Center said they cannot escalate internally, only forward comments to the dealer. I drive approximately 1,000 miles per week and the dealer-provided loaner requires swaps every 1,000 miles. Ford has not provided a reasonable recall remedy timeline or long-term transportation solution.

I was getting on the highway in 7th gear and the truck shifted to 1st gear. The rear end locked up and my vehicle skidded out of control. Luckily there was no one around and I did not contact another vehicle or a road barrier.

At 90,181 miles, the 10R80 transmission in my 2017 Ford F-150 suffered a catastrophic internal failure. The vehicle exhibited violent, hard shifts between gears 2 through 4 with no check engine light or warning indicator, giving zero warning the drivetrain was failing. Sheehy Ford in [XXX] reproduced the condition. Their diagnosis on RO XXX: "HARSH 4-6 SHIFT-INTERNAL FAULT." Teardown revealed a fractured CDF drum with metal debris that migrated into the valve body. The dealer removed the transmission and performed a full overhaul, replacing the CDF drum, clutch cylinder, forward clutches, and valve body, and flushed the cooler and converter. Total cost: $6,846.30, entirely out of pocket. This is a serious safety defect. A fractured CDF drum can cause sudden loss of gear engagement, unexpected downshifts, or transmission lockup at highway speed, any of which can result in loss of vehicle control and severe risk of injury or death. I use this vehicle daily to transport my two young children (ages [XXX] and [XXX] ) to and from daycare. This defect endangered their lives, my life, and other motorists, all with no diagnostic warning. This failure is consistent with widespread defects in Ford's 10R80 transmission, currently the subject of class-action litigation. A transmission should not need a $7,000 overhaul before 100,000 miles. Ford is aware of this pattern and has failed to recall. I am filing to ensure NHTSA has a complete record of another 10R80 failure that directly endangered occupants, including small children. Recall 19S07 was performed on my vehicle. The dealership attempted the repair multiple times, and although the software update was eventually completed, the diagnostic trouble codes indicating a lead frame failure remained present immediately afterward. The recall did not resolve the defect condition. I was then required to pay out-of-pocket to replace the lead frame in order to correct the same issue the recall was intended to address. The sequence was: •Recall attempted multiple times •Update completed •Fault condition remained (lead frame codes) •Paid repair required to resolve condition The manufacturer directed me back to the dealership rather than addressing the incomplete recall remedy.

At 87,336 miles, my 2017 Ford F-150 (3.5L EcoBoost) would not start. The engine clicked and buzzed but failed to turn over, leaving me stranded with no warning. There was no prior check engine light. I brought the truck to Roy Hendrick Automotive in [XXX] (Invoice XXX, completed 03/05/2025). Their diagnosis determined the cam phasers and timing components had failed. The shop performed a full timing chain and cam phaser replacement, including both camshaft sprockets, timing chains, tensioners, timing chain guides, variable timing solenoids, water pump, seals, gaskets, and spark plugs. Total cost: $5,449.36, entirely out of pocket. This is a serious safety defect. Cam phaser failure in the 3.5L EcoBoost can cause catastrophic loss of engine timing, resulting in sudden engine stall or failure to start. A stall at highway speed, in an intersection, or while merging creates an immediate risk of collision, serious injury, or death. Even a no-start condition is a safety issue when it strands a driver in an unsafe location. I use this vehicle daily to transport my two young children (ages [XXX] and [XXX] ) to and from daycare. A sudden engine failure while driving with them in the vehicle could have had fatal consequences. Ford's 3.5L EcoBoost cam phaser failures are extensively documented, with numerous TSBs and owner complaints on file. An engine should not require over $5,000 in internal timing repairs before 100,000 miles. Ford has failed to issue a recall or provide an adequate remedy. I am filing this complaint to ensure NHTSA has a complete record of another 3.5L EcoBoost timing failure that put vehicle occupants, including small children, at risk. 218 Ford F150 5.0L 4X4 with 10R80 transmission. While accelerating from stop light and attempting to merge into highway traffic flow, transmission shifted to 4 gear and failed to actually change gears resulting on a massive loss of momentum and causing a dangerous situation for myself and other motorists. This was an unknown problem to me, but after doing some research, a very well known problem to Ford. The company has used this transmission in many models of their vehicles and generally results in a full rebuild of the transmission to properly correct the issue. As of today, there are class action cases for this. Ford has correct the know deficiency in the latest (2025+) versions for the transmission, so there should be a recall to correct the problems with previous versions. Ford Motor Company has known about the defect with the lack of lubrication on the CDF drum, as well as other issues, and sold the defective parts anyway. This incident did not result in an accident, but only because traffic was light enough that other motorists were able to swerve around me. This particular highway access does not offer an emergency lane until after the bridge the the onramp spills onto.

The transmission was already rebuilt under warranty, had 49,700 miles. While traveling between 70-80(while passing)open road the transmission tried going into 1st gear happned a few times until went into limp mode. Just me, no trailer, nothing in the bed. The dealership nor corporate would do anything since I had turned off the truck. Even though the codes were stored.

- #11735600May 4, 2026VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:CRUISE CONTROL
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at 76–77 MPH, the vehicle's speed independently increased. The contact stated that the failure occurred while the cruise control was set at 76–77 MPH, however the vehicle's speed increased to 100 MPH. The brake pedal was depressed, however the vehicle failed to stop. The contact pressed an unknown button on the steering wheel and the vehicle eventually stopped. The contact stated that when the vehicle stopped, the engine loudly. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact turned the vehicle off because the vehicle idled unusally loud. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with dirty unknown sensors. The failure was not duplicated. The contact was informed that the sensors needed to be cleaned. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,613.

- #11735555May 4, 2026EXTERIOR LIGHTING
My 2021 Ford F-150 Lariat has a repeated failure of the front LED daytime running/perimeter lighting (Driver's Side). The light was intermittently dim before failing completely. This occurred around 94,000 miles. Because this lighting is part of the truck’s front visibility system, the failure creates a safety concern, especially in daylight, rain, fog, and low-light conditions. Based on owner reports, this may be a widespread defect affecting other 2021+ F-150 trucks. I request NHTSA evaluate this issue for a possible defect investigation and recall.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, a loud rattling noise was heard coming from the vehicle, with no warning lights illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number 23V896000 (Power Train); however, the parts required to perform the recall repair were not yet available. The vehicle was taken to multiple dealers, where it was diagnosed that the left and right rear axle shaft assemblies had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact also stated that the dealer found an axle bolt inside the rim of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired, and the dealers confirmed that the remedy parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time to complete the recall repair. The contact also stated that the failure recurred, and the right-side axle is beginning to detach. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

Cam Phasers. Ford refuses to repair cam phasers despite having a recall previously and never fixed by previous owner. Ford quoted the repair at $8k. Previously recall stated safety concerns over faulty manufacturing of cam phasers, having plastic parts and exposed parts rather than metal and enclosed parts like in they install during the repair. While I understand the repair was a voluntary recall, it's still a safety concern as engine has rough idle, rough shift changes, sometimes will jolt forward while idling and possible engine shut off due to damage to camshaft caused by the failing cam Phasers. This should be an NHTSA ordered recall.

I have a 2018 Ford F-150 Platinum Truck. The truck began hard shifting and jolting the truck while slowing down or speeding up. Threw codes P2707/P2708 (F-clutch solenoid); the CDF played part in this issue. I lost several gears (to include gears 1-3, 5, 7, and 9 in drive, and reverse) WHILE driving. This was extremely dangerous and I needed a follow vehicle to stay at a safe distance to escort my limping truck to a safe place. Ford dealership quoted $11,800 to replace transmission. Mom/pop shop offered $9,000.

In January 2025, Covert Ford [XXX] ) performed a federally mandated PCM recall repair via their mobile service unit. Immediately upon completion, my check engine light (CEL) cam e on. Prior to this service, the vehicle had zero warning lights, fault codes, or symptoms of any kind. The CEL appeared directly and exclusively following the recall work. The timeline is unambiguous. In March 2025, I returned to Covert Ford to have the recall-related fault addressed. Rather than reviewing their own recall work, the dealership charged me a diagnostic fee upfront, followed by additional labor charges, resulting in a bill exceeding $1,100. No diagnostic data, scan results, or technical documentation was ever provided to support their findings. The fault was never resolved. An improperly performed recall can suppress additional fault codes within the vehicle's OBD system, leaving the driver unaware of developing powertrain or safety-critical issues. I operated the vehicle with an active, unresolved CEL for approximately three months — a condition caused entirely by the recall service itself. A federally mandated recall is a manufacturer's commitment to repair a defect at no cost to the consumer. When that repair introduces a new fault and the consumer is billed over $1,100 to diagnose it, the recall process has fundamentally failed.
