- #11680631August 14, 2025ENGINE, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
My truck completely shut down while leaving the shop and I was only going about 6-10mph. The dash alert stated "fuel accessory" or something in orange, sorry, I panicked a little:) I took it to Bradley Ford the next day and they couldn't fix it as they didn't know the issue. This happened a second time, but didn't shut off completely, it just felt like I was running out gas (full tank). I do live in Lake Havasu City, Az and it's hot here so I don't let my truck go below 1/2 tank hoping this will help avoid a major accident. Thank you! My manifolds have warped on my truck and is a common issue with Ford trucks. They use 8 bolts instead of 11 and know this will eventually cause the manifolds to warp. The dealership wants $5200 to fix it. Its not affordable so will have to drive it. Unfortunately exhaust can get into the passenger area and is dangerous. This has to be covered as Ford knew it would happen then gouge the consumer and could harm them. Thank you! I was on the on-ramp and accelerated to get to freeway speed nothing crazy. The truck took off even with my foot off the pedal. I braked hard to avoid rear ending the vehicle in front.. Started slowing down took my foot off the brake and it did it again... braked hard again, hit the hard shoulder then it went back to normal. Lucky it was a 5 lane freeway...

While attempting to pass another vehicle from middle lane to passing lane, I stepped on the accelerator and the vehicle shuddered, slowed down (gear wouldn't catch). I manually downshifted to gain acceleration and avoid being rear ended by an 18-wheeler! I successfully maneuvered around and back into the middle lane but the vehicle was (and still is) having problems changing gears. It is an extremely unsafe to drive this vehicle.

Failure of the timing chain started as a rattle on a cold start. I contacted the dealership, and they indicated that all 2019 EcoBoosts need to have cam phasers and timing chain replaced, or they can cause major engine failure.

Description: On July 7, 2025, I purchased this vehicle from AutoNation Spring, Texas. At the time of sale, the dealership did not disclose that there was an active safety recall on this vehicle. I only learned of the recall after the purchase, when I checked the VIN through NHTSA’s website. The recall remains open and unresolved as of today’s date. The Arizona AutoNation dealership has had possession of the vehicle for service since shortly after the sale, but no recall repair has been completed. I was never informed at the time of sale that this safety defect existed or that repairs were outstanding. I am concerned that the vehicle was sold in violation of federal and/or state consumer protection laws regarding safety recall disclosures. I request NHTSA’s review and investigation into whether this dealership and manufacturer have complied with all requirements for recall handling and notification. --- Key Points for NHTSA’s File: Date of purchase: July 7, 2025. Selling dealer: AutoNation Spring, Texas. Recall was active at time of sale. Recall was not disclosed to buyer. Vehicle remains in dealership possession with recall still open.

Issue #1 Transmission while going up steep incline and gears go from gear 10th to 9th gear there is a hard thump, dealership says they will not do anything if it passes their clutch pack test. Issue #2 rear driver shock absorber was replaced at 38,000 miles due to leakage. 4k miles(1month) later the new shocks paint is wore off and has the same markings the old one has, this will cause premature failure and premature rusting. The sock absorber on the other side has no markings and paint is fine (42k Miles old) This may be due to a defective bolt Bolt (w720200 S440 nut I had to have replaced as it was missing..Then few months later the shock absorber went out and was charged ($358 for repair) now I have a premature wearing part installed again seems to be an overall issue with back end suspension

The DRL has gone out on one of my headlights. The other has started to flicker. This is uncovered by their extended warranty and over $1600 per side to replace. It is becoming common to see many 2021-2023 with LED reflector headlamps with burned out DRL. It is an unserviceable part as well. Only can replace the entire assembly but no warranty will cover it as lighting is exempt as standard wear items.
