“I need to file a complaint because two dealerships refused to perform the required diagnostic for federal safety recall 19S07 on my F-150. They stated they will not replace the lead frame under ANY circumstance, even if the recall-related OSS failure damaged it. Both dealers refused the mandatory recall procedure. My truck is showing ALL recall symptoms, including speedometer dropouts, PRNDL flashing, gear indicator cycling, and erratic shifting. I need Ford to contact the dealership and authorize proper recall handling.”**

i dropped my ford truck off for a recall that was done only three months ago and it had an extended warranty (Recall campaign number 19S07/19V075 sudden downshift powertrian control module programming) with it but it didnt fix the problem. when i picked up my truck after them keeping it for two weeks and telling me they had no loaners, they tried to say nothing was wrong with my truck and tried to charge me a $169 diagnostic fee and never even fixed the recalled downshifting transmission problem. But when I am driving it will just downshift almost causing the truck to jerk rapidly to a complete stop. This has almost caused an accident and ford wouldn’t even try to fix it and because I refused to pay for a service I did not request they told me to never come back. My appointment was made online and clearly stated the info about the recall repair not being done right on July 12th 2025. So now I don’t know how to rectify this transmission problem

I HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK AT AROUND 38000 MILES UNTIL NOW AT ~63,000 MILES. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE TRUCK ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION BEING UNPREDICTABLE. AT AROUND 50,000 MILES I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SHIFTING POORLY, NOT SHIFTING INTO GEAR, JUMPING GEARS. THEY LOOKED AT IT, SAID IT HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSFER CASE BUT NOT THE TRANSMISSION. THEY REPLACED A COUPLE PARTS. THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM HAS NOT GONE AWAY. I CALLED AT AROUND 59,000 MILES ABOUT SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION NOT GOING INTO GEAR AND JUMPING GEARS CAUSING THE ENGINE TO REV. BY THE TIME I BROUGHT IT WITH THEIR SCHEDULE, MY 60,000 MILE WARRANTY HAD RAN OUT. I'M NOW AT 63,000 MILES, THE TRANSMISSION IS WORSE THAN EVER, AND FORD WILL NOT WARRANTY THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP BLAIMS THE 10 GEAR TRANSMISSION WITH HOW IT IS ACTING, BUT MY ISSUES ARE MUCH WORSE THAN JUST A TROUBLED TRANSMISSION SERIES. WHILE DRIVING TO THE POST OFFICE TODAY, IT WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. ON THE WAY BACK FROM THE POST OFFICE, DRIVING ON THE ROAD, IT SHIFTED FROM ITS GEAR INTO A STEADY NEUTRAL ALL WHILE I WAS PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR CAUSING THE ENGINE TO REV AND WHEN IT FINALLY SLAMMED INTO THE NEXT GEAR, CAUSED THE TRUCK TO ROCKET FORWARD. IT QUICK ACCELERATION WITH THE NECK BREAKING JERK WAS DISTURBING.

The rear windshield spontaneously exploded while the vehicle was stationary. I confirmed this was not caused by any impact or debris. There have been several other reports on various websites of this issue, across multiple models including the F150 and Bronco, and potentially being caused by faulty wiring of the rear defroster. Ford has not issued a recall and will not accept responsibility for this defect.

The truck has recently and randomly been making a very loud static/poping sound that actually sometimes hurts my ears. After this static continuously plays even when I reset the sync system, cycle the ignition or turn the volume to zero, it still continues. This is followed by a strong electrical burning smell. After 10 minutes this stops and the passenger side speakers are the only ones that work. The initial very loud pop/crackle is dangerous and has made me jump where it started me mid lane change as if something had collided with the truck. This lapse in concentration due to a natural startling reaction could cause an accident.

The rear glass panel of the panoramic sunroof on my 2024 Ford F-150 (approximately 8,800 miles) suddenly and spontaneously shattered while I was driving. There was a single upward-pointing fracture near the front-center of the panel, and the rest of the glass fragmented outward from that point. There was no impact, no debris, no nearby vehicles, and no physical evidence of anything striking the roof or surrounding areas. No objects were found inside the vehicle. The sunroof is available for inspection upon request. This failure created an immediate safety risk. The shattered panel was directly above my two children seated in the rear, and falling glass fragments posed a significant danger of injury. A sudden overhead glass failure also presents a hazard to other drivers if fragments are expelled from the vehicle. There were no signs or symptoms before the breakage. The Ford dealership inspected the vehicle but did not identify any impact damage and did not confirm a cause. The failure has not been reproduced, but I found multiple similar reports from other Ford owners, suggesting this may be consistent with spontaneous internal stress failure of the tempered glass. Given the complete lack of impact evidence and the serious safety risk to occupants and other motorists, I am reporting this as a panoramic sunroof safety defect.

My vehicle has continued to have major issues with the radio/audio system. The radio will experience an extremely loud distorted sound when I start the vehicle. It is extremely unsafe since the vehicle can't be operated while this is going on. During the worst situation, I've had to disconnect the battery in order to make the sound stop. I had the first issue happen less than 3 weeks after purchasing the truck in 2022. I had to take it to 3 different dealers in my local area, with NO REPAIR action, before I returned it to the original dealer. The Metter Ford dealer put me in a loaner vehicle while the technical engineer researched the problem. During that first problem, the software was reprogrammed and the APIM module was replaced. However, the problem has continued to this day. The last time it occurred was today, on 12/3/2025. I believe Ford released a recent software update for the BlueCruise 1.4 that possibly addressed a radio problem, but it has NOT FIXED my issue.

The quad LED headlamps keep going out on the truck. It is the vertical side of the light that goes out. I have seen many other F150 with the same issue.

Truck started making a loud sound from engine compartment on startup after towing camper 150 miles. The sound started to get louder and started to notice exhaust smells in the cabin. I took the truck into dealer to find out that the exhaust manifolds were warped leaking on both sides of engine due to a stud being broken that holds the manifold in place the tech said it sounds like a diesel. The service advisor at the dealership said that it is a "common problem" on the 3.5L twin turbo engine. The cab of the truck fills with the exhaust fumes to the point where the driver gets headaches unless the windows are open. I asked if there was a recall on this problem and they said NO. The same manifolds was used for years on that motor, since then Ford redesigned the manifolds to use extra studs into the heads that are already there but now want the consumers to pay to install the new design to keep the fumes out of the cab. Looking online it seems to be a problem that the turbos are heating the manifolds to the point that they warp and snap the only stud used on the rear portion of manifolds for owners that tow with the truck (that has a tow package and rated at 12500 capacity) FYI I'm only towing 5000 pounds. My concerns are that the exhaust fumes can overcome the driver an cause them to pass out or become impaired by the carbon dioxide poisoning.

I had just replaced the transmission (R1080; 6 cyl 3.5L Turbo) on September 3, 2025 due to P0734-00 (Gear 4 incorrect Ratio and P07F7-00 (Gear 10 incorrect Ratio). The transmission matter can be referenced on NHTSA ID # XXX. On September 30, 2025, while driving down the parking deck ramp (at 3-5mph) my check engine light came on with code P0022 (camshaft timing); resulting in replacement of the camshafts. The camshaft had a HOLE in it (photo supplied). The camshaft issue is another issue many Ford F150 truck owners are experiencing. Again, Ford has continued to give "band-aid" fixes with TSB's and no REAL fix to a continuing issue with these trucks. On December 3, 2022, this used truck was purchased from a Ford Dealership in Raleigh, NC (77,100 miles) and was Ford Gold/Blue Certified per my purchase information. The Gold/Blue paperwork even included that the "Customer Satisfaction Repair" (not a true recall mandated by NHTSA) had been performed by a TSB (along with the unintentional tailgate opening also a Customer Satisfaction Repair). There are no recalls issued on this vehicle. Ford has offered NO assistance towards repairs. As evidenced by the number of complaints filed on the NHTSA website for this particular engine, at what point will the NHTSA open an investigation and mandate that FORD issue a RECALL for the KNOWN problems with the R1080 3.5L and the camshaft/phasers. My 2018 Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost experienced cam phaser rattle/failure at 72,000 miles. The vehicle never received the 21B10 PCM reflash, and Ford Customer Care has denied any goodwill assistance. The cam phaser noise is a known widespread defect covered under Customer Satisfaction Program 21N03. I had the repair done out-of-pocket at a Ford Dealership because I was fearful that catastrophic engine damage would occur if left un-fixed, leaving me stuck in the roadway. I Request that this be logged for investigation and future regulatory review.
