I was not in an accident. I have a 2018 ford f150 xlt and it has a 3.5 eco boost. My truck is leaking some type of oil from the top and has very bad fuel injectors which is why my truck cant accelerate and shakes extremely bad. When I sit at a red light my truck dies and I think i have a leaking exhaust. I bought a new battery but it still dies. I know they used to do a recall for a new engine from what i’ve searched but they don’t do it anymore and I don't think its safe for me driving while I have all those problems. I have not been in an accident but with all these problems my truck could possibly die or go out while i’m on the highway and just makes me nervous driving something like that when the 3.5 eco boost is already not a great engine. Thank you

I've had extremely hard shifts since I got the vehicle at about 30k miles. I have a 2019 f150 xlt 302a with the 2.7l ecoboost in it. I have since found out that ford has defective CDF Drum parts and have updated the ones that are KNOWN to fail. I keep seeing people getting their transmission shudders and hard shifts fixed via a TSB or Recall, but my vehicle never shows any recalls. I dont understand. I've had the defective CDF Drum in my truck since I bought it. Why am I not able to get the recall fix. I've known for quite some time that it's going to fail at some point. Nobody at the Stealership had any help or info for me. So that's why I'm here. My transmission has had issues since the day I bought it. Why do I not qualify for the recall or TSB? I bought it used but it was gold certified so the warranty was until 100k miles. I now have approximately 122k miles on it now. Any help or info is greatly appreciated. Thank you and happy new year!! To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally document and complain about the ongoing and unresolved issues with my vehicle, which has been subjected to repeated repair attempts without a successful or lasting resolution. What began as a single repair concern has escalated into an extended, exhausting process involving multiple failed repairs, continued warning indicators, and a complete lack of confidence in the vehicle’s safety and reliability. Since owning this vehicle, it has been brought in for service numerous times due to recurring mechanical issues. The most recent and most serious issue began as a rear differential leak. That initial diagnosis led to a rear end replacement, which then spiraled into additional repairs and complications. As of now, the vehicle has undergone eight separate repair attempts related to this issue. After the most recent repair, I was explicitly informed by the dealership that the vehicle was fully repaired and ready for pickup. However, upon arriving and taking possession of the vehicle, I immediately observed active warning lights on the dashboard, including: •“Service Now” •“Service Rear Differential” This occurred at the time of pickup, indicating that the vehicle was either not properly repaired, not properly inspected, or knowingly released in an unresolved and potentially unsafe condition. I was forced to return the vehicle immediately, continuing a cycle that has become unacceptable. This pattern demonstrates a serious breakdown in diagnostic accuracy, repair quality, and accountability. Eight repair attempts without resolution is excessive by any reasonable standard and has resulted in: •Significant inconvenience and loss of time •Ongoing uncertainty about the vehicle’s safety and mechanical integrity •Loss of trust in both the dealership’s service department and the product itself Adding to this frustration, I was directly told by the dealership owner that my only option at this point was to sue.

The headlights of this car, and many cars of this modern age, have headlights that are blinding and make it significantly more difficult and dangerous to drive at night.

At 50k miles the transmission started to have a hard time finding a gear at low speeds, often “in neutral” - between gears for 1-2 seconds and on occasion up you 5-7 seconds. During this “neutral”, the engine could still rev freely and often built revs too high for the next gear, causing a hard ‘jerking’ motion when the next gear is engaged. This proved to be moderately dangerous when merging into traffic with propulsion being cut. At 52000 miles, 10th gear would have trouble holding at highway speeds and would disengage for that same 5-7 second gap, only to eventually resort to 9th gear. Being left powerless on the highway can be extremely dangerous if you are caught traveling up a steep grade or passing another vehicle. At 53000 miles, the above mentioned 10th gear symptom arose at a steady 70 mph, and when 9th gear was engaged the dashboard illuminated a wrench icon with a message that said “maintenance required”. I could tell that the truck was operating at reduced power at this point. After researching the issue, I discovered the problem to be the CDF drum failed - an internal component that requires a full transmission rebuild. This problem appears to be an issue that plagues not some, BUT ALL 2017-2023 10r80 at some point in their life cycle. An extremely costly fix at that.

Ford has issued multiple TSBs regarding THE DEFECTIVE 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission, particularly in F-150s (2017+). The issue is around the CDF drum in Ford F-150s (and other vehicles with the 10R80 transmission) is a known issue where an internal bushing can slide, causing significant fluid pressure loss, erratic shifting, and potential transmission failure, especially in models from 2017-2023. Ford was aware of this because they released multiple bulletins, and they even redesigned the CDF drum with JL3Z-7H351-B to fix the problem, but never issued a recall notice. I was leaving my house, and my truck did not move. It revved up to 5 thousand rpms, and then a loud bang noise happened, and then the truck moved. I took it to the dealership, and they said the CDF drum failed, and now they quoted me $7,000 to fix the known issue. When I called Ford to ask for some sort of assistance, they responded that I should have purchased the extended warranty. This is not right that they knowingly have a defective part and are refusing to issue a recall or offer some sort of financial assistance. I drive a 2018 Ford F-150 XLT 5.0L that has no mods or ever been tuned or modified; mileage is roughly at 121,000.

I need to open a safety case. My 2014 Ford F-150 had recall 24S37 performed. Immediately after the recall, the steering locked, the truck stopped itself while still in Drive, and a blue oil pressure warning light appeared. The vehicle is unsafe and cannot be driven out of my driveway. The dealership is refusing responsibility and wants to charge diagnostics. I need this inspected and towed under recall responsibility.”

Regarding EV Battery Failure – 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning”} To Whom It May Concern, NHTSA I am writing to formally file a complaint against Ford Motor Company regarding a serious and ongoing battery issue with my electric vehicle, which remains unresolved despite multiple attempts to obtain warranty service. Vehicle Information: Vehicle: 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning VIN: [XXX] Mileage: Approximately 38000miles Warranty Status: Vehicle is still fully covered under the manufacturer’s warranty Description of the Problem: The vehicle’s battery is not functioning properly. After a full charge, the vehicle only drives approximately 50 miles, after which the battery becomes completely dead. Ford advertises a range of approximately 230 miles per full charge, which my vehicle has never achieved. The battery warning and error messages appear repeatedly on the dashboard, clearly indicating a battery-related issue. Despite this, no effective repair has been performed. Issues with Ford and Authorized Dealers: Ford Motor Company repeatedly refers me to authorized dealers. Each time I visit a dealer, I am charged approximately $140 for inspection, and the dealer claims that the battery is “fine” without providing any real fix. The problem continues exactly the same. Ford refuses to take responsibility and continues to redirect me back to dealers. Many local dealers do not even have qualified technicians capable of replacing or repairing EV batteries. They only perform basic checks, collect money, and return the vehicle without resolving the issue. This repeated back-and-forth between Ford and dealers has caused me financial loss, extreme inconvenience, and mental stress. The vehicle is unreliable and unsafe for regular use. Requested Resolution: I respectfully request the following: 1.Immediate replacement of the defective battery under manufacturer warranty, or 2.Assignment to a qualified EV service facility that can properly diagnose and replace the battery, a INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION AC
