The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact became aware that the steering wheel was difficult to turn. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact also noticed a failure with the hood release latch. The contact stated that the hood had to be forcefully opened. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,550.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING
I'm having an issue with my 2024 Colorado Trail Boss. After making a right hand turn with the signal on, once the stalk bounces back, it overcorrects and 'taps' the indicator and flashes left 3 times. I've seen some other owners having this issue on online forums throughout the Colorado and GMC canyon lineup. I think it's a pretty big safety concern to give improper navigation signals, 50% of the time I take a right hand turn.

This truck has roughly 41000 miles on it. As I was driving home from work on [XXX], I heard a faint noise and then my truck just lost power and died on the freeway. There were no engine warning lights on and did not want to restart and stay running. After a few times of starting and dying the message on the dash said keep driving engine is in regen. This is a diesel truck and the newer ones have a regeneration that is done with DEF. I was unable to get it off onto the exit, but did get it off the roadway. The vehicle was towed into the shop on February 3rd, 2024. The shop had to order parts and said that it was just a faulty part. I received the truck back on March 14th. I drove it home from the shop and to work for two days putting roughly 100 miles on the truck. On my way home on [XXX] , the truck died again with no warning at all. Same symptoms, just no power and no warning. The truck was towed back to the shop where it still sits today. The problem is there is an issue with this thing dying without any warning at all. The dealer and Chevrolet techs have been unsuccessful in finding the problem. It has been almost 6 months in the shop with literally no idea of what is wrong. I feel this is a serious safety issue that could leave people or families stranded without any warning or idea of how to repair. I feel this should be investigated and brought to someone's attention. I have contacted Chevrolet, but unfortunately they have left everything up to the dealership. The dealer is Auburn Chevrolet in Auburn, WA. Driving down the road the power steering was lost. Received stabiltrak fault and steering loss light. Pulled off the road and shut off for a minute then restarted and it cleared and was fine. One time I had to do this twice to clear. This has happened 5 times in the past 4 years. Twice within the past 2 months. I understand GM is aware but no recall, however I have read of several complaints about this mainly on 2015’s but it’s the same part on the 2016.

At approximately 6:15am while driving at approx 45MPH on a surface street on the right lane, I noticed an alert on the dashboard regarding the PSI of the rear driver side tire had 0 PSI of pressure and simultaneously heard the thudding sounds of a flat tire. I neither heard, nor felt any impact and there were no potholes in that section of road. I pulled over and called for roadside assistance to replace the tire with my spare. I noticed a large tear from the tread nearly all the way down to the bead along the wall of the tire. Tire M+S 255/65 R17 110T. When the tech arrived he noted the tire was new (purchase and installed 42 days earlier). I asked if he's seen this before as I hadn't, and he said he'd only seen it when a driver hit a curb, which I had not. In the early evening I took the tire back to the shop where it was purchased and before even looking at the tire they informed me I "must have hit something" and will just need to purchase a replacement. After they inspected the tire at my insistence, they concluded I must've hit something but I believe it was a case of confirmation bias. I pointed out, and they did not refute, that there was no other damage to the tire, no damage to the rim, and no damage to the vehicle. The subject tire is still in my possession and available for inspection.

The parking brake lever contacts a piece of the wiring harness/bundle during operation. Wear on the wiring lead to exposed wires in the bundle. For me, this resulted in an electrical short that rendered the dashboard inoperable. This is a safety hazard as the entire dashboard becomes inoperable, and also a potential fire hazard.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the steering wheel became difficult to turn in either direction. Additionally, the steering was sticking while turning. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the rack and pinion was faulty and needed to be replaced. The rack and pinion were replaced but the failure later reoccurred. Additionally, while driving over bumps in the road there was a clanking sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who determined that the suspension sway bar was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000.

Power steering completely failed on 6/28/2024. Truck was purchased new in March 2021, and has less than 36,000 miles. Local Chevy dealer said entire power steering assist assembly must be replaced at $2,000+ but the wire harness is on backorder. Recall #21V213000 was for similar problem in 2015 models but the problem still persists, at least through June 2021. Obviously, GM dealer's must be replacing a lot of power steering assists if they can't keep the parts in stock.

2021 Chevrolet Colorado shifter would not work properly When put into park it would not allow me to turn the key all the way to the left and therefore would not allow me to remove the key. So my truck is only 3 years old, I keep up with preventative maintenance and this should not have happened. It just cost me $518.97 to get repaired. My husband and a friend both have Chevrolet (Malibu and Blazer) and both also have shift problems. Seems to me that Chevrolet has issues with their shifts.

My 2016 Colorado is experiencing power steering loss at random occurrences while driving. The date that I lost below was the last time this happened, but it has happened over 10 times in the 5 months I have owned this truck. I'm aware there was a recall on the 2015 with the same issue. I also have seen that there have been over 200 complaints about this problem happening. This is a major problem that affects mine and my families safety, and if something is not done about this and I get into an accident then I will be contacting my lawyer and pursuing legal action against GM.

Within in the two weeks of owning my truck the forward collision warning has alerted and forcefully slammed my breaks to a complete stop. One going 75 mph on the highway and once during normal in town driving. I have deactivated the system ever since. I did make my dealership aware but they just said they aren't aware of any issues. The driver side blind spot monitor constantly gives ghost alerts when it is dark.

Power steering and stabilitrak will suddenly go out while I’m driving with no warning. Recall repair was already performed 6/2023 yet I’m still experiencing the problem. I contacted the dealer within a few days of the repair and explained the problem was still occurring. The lady I spoke to said I didn’t tell them I was already having problems with the power steering when I dropped off the vehicle for repair. I was informed I would have to pay for the additional repair out of pocket.

STEERING
During operation, the power steering cuts off. I have to turn the car off and back on for the power steering to work again. It is very dangerous because the power steering went out while I was driving on an interstate. I am really worried that the power steering will fail when I am turning in an urban setting with pedestrians around. It appears that this is a known issue and is very common for 2016 Colorado trucks. GM recalled their 2015 trucks for this same issue, but they haven't recalled the 2016 Colorado. This is very dangerous and needs to be looked at!

2023 Chevrolet Colorado truck turn signal indicator appear to have design flaw. The turn signal indicator will frequently return past the turn signal stop position after making a standard 90 degree right hand turn. This movement past the stop point initiates the left turn signal indicator to cycle for 3 cycles as if the driver is immediately attempting to go to the left. This poses the risk of other drivers taking sudden or evasive actions to avoid the sudden and unexpected immediate lane change indication made by the vehicle. Ultimately leading to the potential of the reacting driver being rear-ended or other adverse affects of them taking sudden action. The dealer has attempted to address the issue by replacing the turn signal indicator. The issue seems to get better, but is now appearing again with the replacement unit. Indication of this issues prevalence in found in several online forums. Most of which people are putting off reporting the issue believing it is a minor annoyance to themselves, and not understanding the potential larger impact to other drivers around them.
