- #11637527January 21, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
1.) While driving signalling for a right hand turn and then subsequently completing the right hand turn, the vehicle then signals left on its own accord. This is distracting for the driver and confusing to other motorists on the road. 2.) Blind spot monitoring system frequently turns on and or blinks rapidly (effects both driver and passenger side mirrors sporadically) when no other vehicles in the same vicinity. Distracting to driver who then is prompted to look around for vehicles that are not there. Quite often the trucks blind spot monitors light up when not a single other vehicle is on the road anywhere. This takes place on full size two lane roads and wide open multi lane highways where there are no objects near the vehicle whatsoever.

Turn signal indicator blinks in opposite direction. When turning right and completing the turn the indicator blinks left causing confusion to other drivers who assume I’m turning left. On several occasions cars have pulled out in front of me nearly colliding. After many attempts to fix the problem the GM dealer replaced turn signal switches but the problem still persists.

At around the 105k mile range the truck would make a gear whine sound and shudder between gears at around the 50mph range, speeding up or slowing down a bit would fix the issue. By 110k miles the truck was making the gear whine sound at speeds over 10 miles an hour studdering at every gear change. I took it to a mechanic who said there were no TSB's for the truck and suggested doing a trans oil dump and filter replacement. The trans filter was replaced, and 7 quarts Mobil1 LV ATF blue label oil was put into the transmission. The studdering has reduced to just at the 50mph range but the gear whine sound has if anything gotten louder.

In [XXX] I took my truck in for oil change, inspection and 3rd complaint of shaking, and shuddering, lurching at a stop, they told me my transmission was broken, they would have to order the part and their was no ETA on when they would get it. I was told there were NONE in the tri-state area from another dealership. We are a one (1) car family and Jim Trenary Chevy said they don’t give out loaners, therefore we had to rent a car at 370.00 a week. Here it is January 15 and we are STILL renting a car. They finally got the part sometime last week, but WE NEED HELP! We have spent over 5,000 in rental car fees and GM will not reimburse us until we return the rental car, even though we have paid cash every week, and we’re have had to borrow from my husbands future paychecks. WE ARE BROKE. We have to pay the deductible of 500.00 when it is finally fixed, plus, during the snow storm last week someone side swiped my rental car, and I have to give Enterprise 1500.00 when I turn in the car for my deductible from insurance. I read there is a 65 million$ law suit pending to GM for these faulty transmissions, yet they don’t feel responsible to pay our expenses for something that IS THEIR PROBLEM, NOT OURS, but they have made it my problem, and I am shouldering all the financial burden of this, their faulty transmission. WE NEED HELP, We are now broke and now can not afford to pay for the rental, or our repair deductible, or our car payment. We don’t make that kind of money. My husband is the only one that works full time. WE NEED HELP, and no one wants to listen or seems to care. WE ARE BROKE! Thank you for listening. Electric power steering assist failed. Pictures were taken to demonstrate lack of compliance with GM recall rework procedure.(procedure attached see pages 7&8)The dealer kept the old assembly as there was a core charge of $150 for the unit, which they returned to GM. Truck was extremely difficult to steer and maintain control. Dealership evaluated and said the steering assembly had to be replaced due to a communications error. The warning indicators came on at the same time as the steering failure. SR:9-14338761808 opened with GM, response was negative.

2024 COLORADO TB purchased new on [XXX]. About 3 days later with 150 miles logged parked in my driveway I noticed OIL spots and leaking. Drove to dealer and they kept it for around 3 days. Dealer contacted GM to supply data points and information. GM had a bulletin placed for REAR MAIN OIL SEAL AND GASKET failure they attributed to faulty parts from original plant inside U.S. Dealer received authorization and billed warranty pulled tranny (allegedly) and replaced rear main oil seal gaskets to stop leaks. Had truck back in 3 days with much pressure and calls noting it was a brand new truck. A few quirks and lights I'm monitoring NOT related to this noted issue stated. GM was attempting to determine how many trucks these faulty gasket seals affected. Dealer was good about providing rental free and turned truck around quick. Extremely odd and quirky for brand new truck with 150 miles logged but I guess things happen it is what it is. I read all the other blogs and statements noted here so I wanted to include this one. The power steering quits working intermittently. It has always been extremely cold when it happens. So far, it has only happened when the vehicle has been started, then driven. Turning the ignition off, then on, does not fix the problem. So far, it eventually starts working again at a later start up. When it happened before, the problem had resolved itself when I took it to the dealership and they could not determine the cause & simply replaced the battery. Losing power steering is definitely a safety issue if turning a corner, etc., when it goes out. The last time, I drove 45 miles directly to the dealership and they put a code reader on it while it was happening. I'm taking it to them for repair(?) tomorrow. There have not been any inspections to-date. The "service power steering" warning did show up when the vehicle was started.

The power steering just stops working. I find a safe place to stop and turn the truck off. It must reset and when restarting the power steering comes back. You never know when the will happen as there is no warning. Making a turn at speeds is unsafe. You are driving with the power steering and halfway through the turn it just gets super hard to turn. A smaller person would have a very hard time turning the wheel. It has been happening for some time but recently it happens every day. I see there was a recall but my vin didn't show a recall for this truck but it should.

- #11634339January 6, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Advanced cruise control system has twice applied the brakes when the road was clear ahead. First time was not a problem other than surprised me. Second time I was almost rear-ended by car behind me. Fortunately, only resulted in a dirty look from other driver. Could have been much worse. I have since de-activated the Advanced cruise system. My dealership is in process of diagnosing the problem.

Temperature heater flap door, causes truck to go from normal temperature to red hot with boiling coolant in reservoir. Have spent thousands and thousands of dollars , on mechanics and parts! Replaced water pump , thermostat, lots of cooling and heater parts and components . No luck and still no good running car , missing work and spending money we don’t have I read online about other trucks my same year and model having a recall on a temperature door. Causing it to overheat and a lot of people have had the same issue as I’m having. I looked up my truck. It doesn’t have it listed on the recall list but I’m sure that it’s the same issue

The turn signals to not function correctly and give inaccurate signals to other drivers. Most (perhaps all) times, when signaling a right turn, after the right turn signal deactivates, the switch "overcorrects" and signals a left lane change (three blinks to the left). This no doubt leads to confusion to other drivers and could cause a accident. Turn signal must work flawlessly! This problem has been broadly reported on the Chevy Colorado internet forum.

While driving the vehicle lost power, would not go over 15 mph. There was a loud rattling noise from the engine. Check engine light came on. loss of power and speed prevented me from keeping up with traffic. Had vehicle towed to Chevrolet Dealership was told high pressure fuel pump mounting bolts had broken and fuel pump was loose. Dealer replace fuel pump and one fuel pipe (part #12627128). I paid full price repair ($ 1,775.21) and contacted Chevrolet to see if they would offer any assistance I was under the power-train mileage but over on time. They offered and I accepted 50% of the repair cost but no towing. After some research I discovered there was a recall (18V358000) for an erlier model for a similar problem . The recall was for the fuel pump separating from the base which could damage the fuel line and create a fire hazard. In my case the entire pump came loose which leads to the same result as the pump separating from the mounting plate.

My son was driving the vehicle when it lost power and he had to maneauver to the side of the road putting himself and others in danger. The truck was not able to drive forward, but could only drive in reverse. There were no warning lights or other indications that the vehicle had a problem. I had it towed to a mechanic who said Chevy Colorados have problems with their transmissions and it would need to be replaced.

Engine Light turned on. Fan keeps running for 10-15 minutes after truck is turned off. Went to two different mechanics and it is a thermostat problem. Temperature sensor and thermostat both have gone bad in under 5 years. They have told me it is not a good design and now parts are in back order. This needs a recall.
