On [XXX] at approximately [XXX{}, my new 2025 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss which I purchased from the dealer brand new on [XXX], experienced a sudden catastrophic transmission failure which led to myself nearly being severely injured/possibly killed while driving on a main road in New York; on the way to pick up my two small children. The vehicle while on a main road (state highway) with other vehicles traveling at speeds of 40mph or greater, experienced a sudden mechanical failure that resulted in a complete loss of acceleration, and my vehicle was nearly rear ended by high-speed oncoming traffic behind me. As a medical professional, this is extremely frightening, because a mechanical issue like this could have led to the significant traumatic injuries to myself, my children and others. Upon the vehicle coming to a complete stop in the middle of this main road/state highway, the vehicle was turned back on and then went into a "Limp Mode" and was able to slowly crawl to the dealership which it was purchased from nearby. Luckily with the limp mode and hazard lights, I was able to safely make it to the dealer service department. There was a check engine light that then appeared on the dashboard after the vehicle had come to complete stop on the road, there were no indicators or symptoms that were occurring prior to this event. The vehicle was inspected by the service department of the dealership on 04/15/25, with the result as per the service manager and general manager being a major Transmission component failing- (Valve Body Failure). The service manager and general manager did not tell me if they would send the defective part to the manufacturer for inspection, they seemed more focused on having me leave the dealership and being satisfied with a repaired defective un-safe vehicle. Vehicle began exhibiting an intermittent shake between 45-60 MPH which felt like driving on a wash board road. In addition it would shift hard/bog down between 1st and 2nd gear. Took to a dealer for service and was told a TSB had been issued to flush the transmission, this was performed. Condition returned within months and after multiple additional visits where the dealer claimed they couldn't replicate the issue they finally determined the torque converter needed to be replaced at approximately 70,874 miles. By this time the warranty had expired (60,000 mile warranty) and I was told I would have to pay for it.

On main route switched to a designated turning lane for turn and u turn only with other vehicles and stopped for red light with my foot on the break. Waiting to turn I receive a ding sound for dash and 2 lights TC and car with skid lines( in my other cars has been traction control.) Message on dash said something like service stabilizer and i believe drive with caution? Now I go to drive forward and the wheel is dead stiff. Unexpected and scary. I Waiting for the cars in front of me to get ahead so I could excellerate a bit more to try to turn the wheel no power. I got into the lot pulled over and shut the vehicle off because I was shaken up. After few minutes I turned vehicle back on and the lights were gone and power steering was back. I then cautiously drove back home. I called the dealer and explained. They can't check codes now they are not appearing. They said they can check maybe something stored in memory. I was given a paper with DTC codes no symptom description. This happened once so far. Receipt of truck on 3/6/25 incident on 4/9/25 only one month. Mechanic says he thinks it's C0545. at this stage it could be a quirk. Why did it show at all if it's a quirk? If it happens again while I'm driving? How do I show what happened? Brought it in @ 45820 miles. I've read somewhere 2015 recall was on part C0545. I bought a warranty covering me for 70k or so..dealer is already set to use my warranty if need be when I believe this is still a GM problem. I am not prepared to just give the vehicle back. If it happens again, I believe this vehicle is not safe when power steering just cuts off. I love this style truck but want it to remain safe. Only thing I can do if it happens again it to record on cell phone if possible and drive with caution? Take my son to and from school this is scary and a payment to boot. What if?..why wait? I can't prove it if I turn vehicle off, I can't drive it like that either..GM fix it plz

My husband and I were flat towing our vehicle on April 12, 2025. We had been traveling about 120 miles when the breaks on truck suddenly locked up, causing us to drag the vehicle for several feet before someone flagged us down and alerted us about what was happening. Our motor home is a 45' Class A, with a 525 horse power engine. If this happens while towing, we may not know it was happening until something catastrophic happened. If it happened while driving we could be seriously injured.

Transmission shifts very hard from first to second and from second to first. This occurs on the first shift of the day. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer twice and was told that, according to Chevy, this is “normal” operation.

The ignition switch will frequently lock when turning off and not allow the electrical system to fully turn off and prevent you from removing the key. It happens randomly but has been increasing in frequency.

My 2016 Colorado has been having the infamous power steering and Stabilitrak issue that stems from a poor connection in the steering rack (to my understanding). While driving the power steering will randomly go out, making it extremely difficult to turn. It has nearly caused an accident while driving when it went out mid turn. Usually stopping, turning the truck off, then back on will temporarily resolve the issue but it reoccurs nearly every trip.

- #11652312April 2, 2025ENGINE, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost power and the driver observed a high pitch sound coming from the engine compartment. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and turned off. The vehicle was not able to restart. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump had fractured and there was a fractured bolt inside the cylinder head that needed to be replaced. Additionally, diagnostic trouble codes: P0089, P228C, and P2c1F were retrieved using a DTC machine. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,369.

Brand new TRUCK… 2024 Chevy Colorado LT 4x4.. Classic Chevrolet Oklahoma CIty OK Extremely Rough Idol, on cold engine start up, You can hear the ROUGH noise it coming out of the Exhaust and feel it in the cab of the truck. After warm up,, at intersections on red lights ,,you can hear and feel the idol miss at times a little bit. The dealership has had my truck for 8 days now. NO positive results to date. They say GM is making them go through a step by step process. The service manager tells me there is a code in one of the cylinders.. but the injectors test perfect. Looking on GOOGLE i see many owners of the same truck with the SAME issue !!!

- #11650386March 25, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
While driving in heavy and slow moving traffic at approximately 15 mph, the vehicle in front stopped. The forward collision and automatic emergency braking failed to activate. These safety features are not a replacement for active driving attention, but if they properly function and activate, they could have prevented the rear end collision that occurred.

I was driving down the highway going about 75mph in the left lane. The engine quickly started going down through the gears as the engine was shutting down. I was able to get it to the right side in very heavy traffic. I had to be towed. It took a 5 day repair and replacement of the fuel pump power control module. Warranty

Driving on the highway speed limit 65-70 my truck started decelerating and breaks got hard and could not use break. Had to get home using emergency petal break and drive. My truck is only 2020 model for this type of problem. Want to see if I can get this fixed with the manufacture defect warranty. Took my truck to a Chevy dealer and they are saying it can be a faulty vacuum pump.
