ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, UNKNOWN OR OTHER, EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Without any warning whatsoever the entire electrical system goes completely off while driving the vehicle after 5 mins of it being on. This means that the lights including blinker and brake lights go off, air conditioning stops, and the entire dashboard goes off. The engine is still able to run. I am able to use the gas and breaks but I do not know what my speed is or any other information that is typically available via the dashboard. I have tried to do a reset when the problem occurs but that does not help the situation. The safety of myself and others is definitely at risk when this happens since the break lights and turning signal will no longer function at all. I can only use the hazard lights to indicate the hazard this presents. I’ve brought this issue up to multiple Volkswagen dealerships having paid the $200 diagnostics fee every time and they inform me that they are not recognizing the issue. I ask if this has anything to do with a recall that had happened to this car and been “fixed” in 2021 and they do not answer the question. I ask if it is possible that the recall was not fixed correctly and that is why I am having issues and they do not answer the question. I have also emailed customer support at Volkswagen worldwide and they state that my car never had any recalls done which is so incredibly false. I have the paperwork to confirm that it had a total of 6 different recalls done in 2021. I believe one of the recalls was never fixed properly and has only deteriorated worse since 2021. Volkswagen dealership of San Bernardino does not give any codes or anything that is more specific than possible alert to car battery/terminals/cables/clamps issues. Their recommendation was to change the car battery but that was already replaced in Aug 2024. They also recommended to change my oil filter but I had an oil change less than 5 days before at a different location. The pep boys diagnostic Revealed code P253200 which indicates a problem with the ignition switch

The key pins on the VW flip keys fall our regularly and can leave motorists stranded in unsafe locations. It is however an excellent revenue generator when you consider the cost of replacement keys. I caught my pin in the process of falling our and saw it was a common problem that has not been resolved in this flawed and unsafe key design that threatens the welfare of consumers and safety of use of their vehicle.

fuel actuator failed not allowing gas door to open on a 12 degree night traveling on a highway going home which is a common problem with these vehicles. luckily, we drive slow and had enough fuel to get home . i think this qualifies as a safety issue.

Since January of 2024, I been having issues with this vehicle. Check engine light came on after 3 day of purchase I was told it needs to be reset. From there vehicle emissions valve failed, N80 valve, electronic module and now fuel injection

AT AROUND 5AM ON FEBRUAURY 7, 2025 I WAS AWOKE BY MY ROOMMATE SCREAMING MY CAR WAS ON FIRE. WHEN I WENT OUTSIDE I SEEN MY NEIGHBOR AND ROOMMATE ATTEMPTING TO PUT OUT A FIRE IN THE ENGINE OF MY CAR. MY CAR HAD BEEN PARKED FOR AT LEAST 5 HOURS AND WAS NOT RUNNING. MY NEIGHBOR STATED THAT HE LOOKED OUT HIS WINDOW AND SAW FLAMES AND RAN ACROSS THE STREET WHERE HE STARTED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE WITH MY WATER HOSE UNTIL FIRE AND POLICE ASSISTANCE ARRIVED. THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE CAR, OR AROUND THE CAR, THE FIRE SPONTANEOUSLY STARTED. I HAD NO PRIOR WARNINGS THAT WOULD BE CAUSE FOR CONCERN OF AN ENGINE FIRE. THE CAR BURNT TO TOTAL DESTRUCTION. IT IS LOCATED AT MY ADDRESS. IT IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION ON REQUEST. I AM FINANCING THE CAR FROM SHAWS AUTO SINCE 08/23/2024. SHAWS AUTO HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT. THE FIREMEN STATED THAT IT WAS CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I AM UPLOADING PICTURES OF MY CAR. I AM STILL ACQUIRING OFFICIAL INCIDENT REPORTS. ATTEMPTED TO UPLOAD PHOTOS OF VEHICLE POST FIRE BUT TO NO AVAIL. THIS INCIDENT HAS TAKEN A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MENTAL, PHYSICAL, AND SPIRITUAL ENERGY IN ORDER FOR ME TO STAY INTACT. THIS IS MY FIRST OPPORTUNITY AT BUYING A NEWER CAR THAT I WAS UNDER THE EXPECTATION THAT I WOULDNT BE UNDER CONSTANT WORRY THAT SOMETHING WAS GOING TO GO WRONG WITH MY CAR COSTING ME MONEY I DONT HAVE. I NEWER CAR SHOULDVE BROUGHT ME AT LEAST A FEW YEARS USE BEFORE CONCERN FOR ANY KIND OF WEAR AND TEAR ISSUES ARISE. THIS ENGINE FIRE WAS NOT MY FAULT OR CAUSE THEREFORE I SHOULD BE COMPENSATED WITH A CAR OF WHICH ICAN RELY ON. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF ANY RECALLS ON MY CAR AND WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY UNTIL AFTER THE FIRE. HAD I KNOWN THERE WAS AN URGENT RECALL I WOULD HAVE CORRECTED IT.

My car has 80,000 miles on it. The high pressure fuel pump sent metal shavings all through the entire system. Dealer quoted $9,000 to fix. This should have never happened. They said that the extended warranty from the diesel gate situation has expired and there’s nothing they can do. With the car only having 80,000 miles on it they should honor the warranty.

When I start the car Multiple times the car will throw over half of all the error code and could not start the vehicle. Driving in the highway doing 65mph with the cruise control on the car completely shut off and I had to limp it to the shoulder and was unable to start the car. Each time I cleared the fault codes then was able to start the car. If I didn’t have my scanner I would have had to get towed each time to the dealer. I see there is an ignition switch recall on the 2019 and the 2020 cars but for some reason I don’t see my 2020 included in that. Now the proximity sensor is at fault and I have to take it to the dealer again. Please let me know what I should do

The contact owns a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated while accelerating from 7th gear and failed to function as intended. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with a mechatronic unit failure associated with the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 113,500.

Nothing has happened as far as a crash goes yet but my air bag lights are on. Indicating that they need repair of some sort. There are also electrical issues that include doors locking while in the vehicle and various lights. I have called different Volkswagen dealers and I was told that there are no current recalls on my vehicle. As a result I was told I would have to pay for these issues on my own. This is not a possible scenario, I receive Social Security as my total income. My family is in danger at this point due to these issues. Volkswagen also requires an upfront amount of 200 "just in case" something else is wrong that is not covered. I could be wrong but I think this is a form of extortion that takes my choices away. Anyway at this point I don't quite know what to do to take care of these issues before one of us dies that drive the car?? I never even wanted this car but the dealer told me I could only get and afford this vehicle, A 17,000 dollar vehicle??? I thought it must be what he wanted to get rid of but I needed a car, so??? My 2024 Jetta with only 14,776 miles had rear brakes and rotors that were unsafe and worn out. They had to be replaced to avoid the possibility of brake failure and an accident. I paid $453.34 out of pocket. VW knows there is a defect with the rear brakes on this generation Jettas wearing out prematurely. They are covering these parts under only certain VIN and production dates but they admit ALL JETTAS ARE SUBJECT TO THIS WEARING OUT OF BRAKES BEGINNING WIITH THE 2022 MODEL YEAR.

Have had the car to dealer numerous times for brake noise issues. Now front and rear brakes make a growling and squealing noise especially when they are cold . Squealing and growling sounds are severe especially when backing up and the brakes are cold. All four brakes make squealing noise Noticeable scraping sound to rear brakes when brakes are not being applied. Rear brakes replaced twice. Car has just over 24,000 mi.

My daughter was rear-ended in her 2017 Jetta while stopped. The other driver was going approximately 45 mph, forcing my daughter into the car in front of her as well, causing significant front impact and damage to the vehicle. The air bag did not deploy. The amount of impact seems as though the airbag should have deployed. She suffered a mild concussion and whiplash from the impact.

The contact owns a 2021 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed with adaptive cruise control on, the vehicle inadvertently applied the brakes completely bringing the vehicle to a complete stop in the middle of the roadway, after which the vehicle then shifted into the parked position. The contact also stated, that later while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle suddenly steered itself to the left towards oncoming traffic before the contact was able to regain control of the vehicle. The ignition switch gets stuck sometimes and I can't crank my car nor turn it off I'm just dating that because that's what's going on on my end. Therefore, I've had times where I can't crank my car or I can't turn it off when I need to. So you may tell me if there was a recall on ignition switch or whatever
