The affected component appears to be the rear seat / seat track recall system. I took my Toyota vehicle to the dealership / repair center in approximately October 2025 for recall-related repair, and the vehicle was then kept there for months. During that time, I was deprived of the use of the vehicle while continuing to make lease payments. I repeatedly contacted the repair center for updates but was not provided a clear repair completion date. Toyota and the dealership later claimed that the recall had been repaired only after the stated 60-day buyback review period had expired, yet NHTSA’s VIN lookup still showed the same recall as unrepaired for my vehicle. No credible current documentation was provided showing the exact recall repair completion date or the work performed. Under these circumstances, I am not comfortable accepting return of the vehicle. My children ride in the rear seat, and because this recall involves the seat / seat track area, I cannot reasonably be expected to trust the vehicle without clear proof that the recall repair was properly completed. I have also experienced a serious accident in the past, which makes this issue even more concerning to me. At this point, I have lost confidence in Toyota’s handling of this matter. I am seeking repurchase of the vehicle and fair final resolution.

My transmission has started with a whining noise, Toyota knows about this issue with thousands of cases regarding the faulty transmission, yet only a few are being covered under a customer support bulletin ZJC. We need to hold Toyota responsible for this issue. We were just told today they won't help us at all. Yet now we are left with a van that we can't use and if we decide to fix it for 10k they are saying the transmission is backordered for months We had to pay Toyota $180 to diagnosis what we already knew was wrong with the vehicle so they would even consider if they would cover it.

The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, and the shifter lever was turned off, it unexpectedly fell down, causing the vehicle to shift into drive and roll down the street, where it crashed into a house. At the time of the incident, the vehicle was occupied by one three-year-old and two six-year-old children. One of the six-year-old occupants attempted to move the shifter into park while another attempted to steer the vehicle. The passenger-side sliding door was ajar. There were no warning lights illuminated. There were no reported injuries, fire, or airbag deployment. A police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer; however, the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but declined the claim. The failure mileage was approximately 119,274.

The power steering has a notch or almost a stickiness when turning. In turns around interstate ramps the steering almost locks in place requiring physical effort to get the steering to straighten back out. Even driving in a straight line one can feel this notch like feeling where the steering wheel is not operating in a smooth manner. This gives me a serious concern over the safety of driving this vehicle. In researching this specific issue it is notable that Toyota issued a large scale recall on other models for steering issues exactly as I’m experiencing on my vehicle. It appears this overall safety concern extends beyond the vehicles listed in Toyota’s original power steering safety issue recall.

I've had the car in the shop for 3 months plus now. Toyota has not had a remedy for the impacted 55k people. We bought a Hybrid, brand new, paid it off and has been on rental for a non hybrid. Toyota won't trade in our car, refund us anything such as gas ( hybrid vs non hybrid). So we're stuck with a rental we don't like. Basically we felt like we spent $50k on a car we did not want since it's not the Sienna we wanted. I need them to be held accountable or have options we can do something with the car. We have kids that utilized the 2nd row and this is unacceptable.

I bought a new 2025 Toyota Sienna Hybrid in Feb 2025 and shortly after, I was informed by letter by Toyota that there was a recall. We were informed NOT to use the second row. (Exactly why we bought a van!) I am STILL waiting for a remedy. Toyota has not offered a rental or any kind of assistance with us being out of a new van for OVER 1 YEAR. I am beyond discouraged and disgusted. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

We were stopped at a stoplight. As soon as we stepped on the gas pedal, there was a loud clunk sound and plastic parts started flying out from under the car. We immediately pulled over. Oil was spilling out everywhere. The transmission oil pump was laying on the inside of the engine compartment. We had towed to Toyota. They diagnosed a bent piston went through engine which also caused a hole in the transmission. I had it towed for a 2nd opinion. Neither toyota or the 2nd opinion had ever seen anything like it. My mechanic also said there are a bunch of other suspension parts that were damaged due to the violent stop of the engine. There are a few of the same incidents online in chat rooms. The car is totalled and we are out of a car now.

I was pulling out onto a main road, pressed the accelerator and "not much" happened. The car accelerated to maybe 5 mph and no faster. Took my foot off the accelerator and pushed it to the floor. No response. It was like the vehicle only ran on EV mode and did not turn the engine on. In a second or more returned to normal and could not reproduce what happened. On coming traffic had to break. There was enough room to pull out under normal situations.

The second row seat recall has effected us so much, we transport a [XXX] and [XXX] old ( [XXX]) all the time to appts and out to dinner, we are putting them in the 3rd row seats Our dealership told us there were no rentals available when we contacted them. So we have been suffering and my inlaws as well! They are finally fixing some of them, saying it by vin number. From what I can see the are fixing the ones that they are paying for a rentals on first. This is unacceptable. - #11729260April 5, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
I am reporting a recurring safety-related defect involving driver-assistance and steering-wheel controls on my 2022 Toyota Sienna Limited, VIN [XXX] ry 8, 2026, I brought the vehicle to Parkway Toyota in [XXX] bec [XXX] tion” warning appeared and cruise control stopped working. The dealer diagnosed the issue as related to the 12V battery, replaced the battery, and advised that the condition was resolved. The same malfunction later recurred. I returned to Parkway Toyota on March 18-19, 2026 for the same problem. I reported that the issue had reappeared after driving in cold conditions in Canada and that when the vehicle was warm there were no warning lights. The dealer diagnosed DTC U042381 (“invalid data received from instrument panel cluster”) and replaced the hybrid vehicle control ECU. I was told the repair was complete. Within about two days, the identical “LTA Malfunction” warning returned again and cruise control was again disabled. In addition, a broader failure then developed involving the steering-wheel-mounted controls: the steering-wheel buttons stopped responding, the instrument display became stuck on one screen and could not be changed, the cruise-control buttons stopped functioning, and the radio volume could no longer be changed from the steering wheel. This appears to be an intermittent but recurring defect affecting driver-assistance functions and vehicle controls while driving. The vehicle has now had two repair attempts for the same general condition, and the problem has not been resolved. Repairing dealer: Parkway Toyota, [XXX] . Repair dates: January 8, 2026 and March 18-19, 2026. The contact owned a 2021 Toyota Sienna Hybrid. The vehicle was parked in the driveway when an explosion occurred; the vehicle burned down. The contact was inside the residence when a loud noise was heard, and the house "rocked." The contact ran to the front of the house to investigate and noticed that the vehicle was engulfed in flames. The fire damaged the driveway, melted the garage door, and melted a landscaping retaining wall. The fire damaged the post on the front porch. The contact and her family were unable to exit through the front door due to the fire and used the sliding kitchen door to exit the residence. The fire department was called to the scene. Per the contact, three fire trucks were at the scene. The fire department informed the contact that the fire went up to 3,000 degrees. The fire department concluded that the fire started from underneath the driver's back panel. The contact stated that the gas tank was underneath that area and believed the gas tank may have contributed to the fire. The towing company towed the vehicle to a towing yard, and it was later picked up and towed to an unknown location. The insurance company was notified and declared the vehicle a total loss. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that an inspection was needed on the vehicle and asked for the location of the vehicle. However, the contact was awaiting the results. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
