While pulling out of my driveway, I heard a loud popping sound. Immediately afterward, there was a burning plastic-type odor. At that time, there were no visible signs of damage, no warning lights on the dashboard, and the vehicle appeared to be operating normally. Later that day, while driving, I noticed a shimmering effect in the bottom right corner of the windshield that caught my attention. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the windshield had cracked. It appeared that the earlier popping sound was caused by the initial crack, which was now beginning to spread. I took the vehicle to the dealership that same afternoon to have the issue documented. The technician on duty inspected the windshield, along with a sales advisor and my original salesperson, who was present at the time. The following day, I returned to the dealership, where the service director examined the windshield and found no evidence of impact damage. I was then instructed to bring the vehicle back for evaluation by an official manufacturer representative. After a visual inspection by the Toyota rep, I was informed that the damage would not be covered under warranty. This was over a month after I initially reported the issue and the crack had spread much further by that point. The windshield appears to have broken spontaneously, yet the manufacturer has declined to repair or replace it under warranty coverage. The damage came from the interior portion of the glass which seems like a manufacturing defect.

While driving down the highway, the whole car and steering wheel of 2021 Toyota Camry Hybrid started shaking side to side. Was able to exit safely and found a bubble in the sidewall of the 2021 Hankook Kinergy GT H436 BW 235/45R18 tire. Never had this happen with any tire before. 31,000 miles on tire. Could have caused a blow out if the exit was further away. No notification on Toyota Camry Hybrid screen or dash that anything was wrong with the tire before failure. I will check if the tire center will inspect the tire for me when they replace it in a few days.

The radio/audio system has twice stopped working completely during travel--without warning--which is a safety issue since no emergency alerts can be received. The outage cannot be fixed by turning off the radio or any known practical intervention while the vehicle is moving. Audio reading of incoming text messages also fails. AM/FM/SiriusXM are all affected. Audio resumes at the next vehicle start-up. The vehicle is available for inspection. Safety is compromised since emergency alerts may be missed during these complete audio outages. Due to the randomness of the audio outages, independent confirmation has not been practical to date. No inspection by manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others has been requested or yet occurred. Other than the abrupt audio cut-off, no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure have been observed. Thank you.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2025 Toyota Camry. The vehicle was an IAA auction sale. The contact stated that upon purchasing and picking up the vehicle from the auction dealer, the contact scanned the vehicle with an OBD reader to clear the check engine warning lights, and the odometer reading changed from 6,000 to 54,000 miles. The contact discovered the mileage discrepancy while the vehicle was still at the auction lot. The dealer was notified, but no assistance was provided. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 6,000, but it was later discovered that the mileage was 54,000 upon scanning the vehicle.

On [XXX], I turned on the driver's seat heater. It started on the high setting. In a very short time the heat became extremely uncomfortable and I shut it off. However, the seat continued to release high amounts of heat which resulted in a burn after a few minutes before I could stop and exit the car. The backs of my thighs, my buttocks, my pereneum and part of my scrotum were burned. I saw my primary care doctor the next day and she confirmed it was a first degree burn. She prescribed supplements to help the skin to heal. Last week I saw a dermatologist to see if the skin was healing properly. He said it was but will take more time. It is today April 13, and I still have some discomfort while sitting. It has taken a long time for the inner layers of skin that were damaged to repair itself. I am [XXX] but not diabetic. I intend to have the fuse for the seat heater removed tomorrow so this never happens again. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

2025 Camry front bumper popping out underneath driver side headlamp. It is a known issue by Toyota though they won't acknowledge it. It is widely considered a warranty issue, though some owners face resistance from dealers. Temporary fixes include re-aligning clips, while permanent solutions often require bracket replacements or professional body shop intervention. 2 dealerships have looked at it. One referred me to a body shop and the other said it would involve me replacing the headlamp. Clip is still intact, but it won't grab onto the tab under headlamp.

Owner bought new 2021 Camry XLR 4 cylinder all wheel drive. It currently has 39,000 miles on it. No problems until January 25, 2026. It was 11 degrees below zero, my car had the original battery. Car started without issue, I return to house to "warm it up" prior to driving. Upon my return I had multiple error codes; 1. AWD System Malfunction, 2 WD Engaged (Visit your Dealer), Secondary Collision Brake System Malfunction, Pre-Collision Brake System Malfunction, Parking Brake Malfunction, Check Engine light. I did NOT drive the car that day. Once the weather warmed up in Iowa, the number of codes would change and sometimes absolutely NO codes. Upon extensive internet research, I purchased a new battery (old battery did "test" ok, but no load test was completed). During all of this time, my car has always started well, performed well, etc. HOWEVER, when the "codes" show up, my cruise control also will not work. . . . Original dealership "ran computer codes" (C059746) indicating "calibration memory failure."Quote was given for: Parking rake actuator replacement $1,760. 2nd Toyota dealership opinion: $3,300 for parking brake actuator, low pressure fuel pump replacements. Original dealership adamantly denied the need to fuel pump replacement. Again, my car intermittently may or may NOT show warning codes. . . .Not I dealership has conducted any examination, they simply "run the computer codes" and quote a repair cost. I am concerned about repair scandals, diagnostic incompetence and perhaps the CAUSE of my "error codes" has not even be addressed (computer glitch, faulty sensor, corroded wiring, etc.) I am a 70 yr old female still working and needing transportation. I spent $34,000 on my car expecting safe and reliable transportation. I have NO confidence in the Toyota Repair diagnostics. I also own a 2005 Toyota Camry which was involved in the Toyota acceleration debacle years ago, of which they decline any responsibility. Luckily, no human injuries!!!!!

On March 2, 2026, the airbag warning light and seat belt warning light suddenly illuminated on my vehicle’s dashboard. This issue is extremely concerning, as it directly affects critical safety systems designed to protect occupants in the event of a crash. I immediately took the vehicle to an authorized Toyota dealership for inspection. However, the dealership refused to repair the issue under the manufacturer’s warranty, claiming that the problem was caused by “physical damage.” I strongly dispute this claim, as no accident, impact, or misuse occurred that could justify such damage. As a result, I was pressured into paying for the repair out of pocket, despite this being a brand-new vehicle and a clear safety-related malfunction. I also contacted Toyota Motor North America to escalate the issue. Unfortunately, they declined to provide assistance or override the dealership’s decision, leaving me without proper support. I believe this situation raises serious safety concerns that may affect not only my vehicle but potentially other vehicles of the same model. A malfunction involving the airbag and seat belt systems could significantly increase the risk of injury or death in the event of an accident. For this reason, I respectfully request that the NHTSA: •Investigate this issue for potential defects in the 2025 Toyota Camry •Determine whether a recall or further safety action is necessary •Review the manufacturer’s and dealership’s handling of this safety concern That dealership was Hudson Toyota service centre which is located in jersey city New Jersey ,07305. I am submitting this complaint in the interest of public safety and to prevent potential harm to other drivers. Thank you for your attention to this serious matter.

- #11728382March 31, 2026ENGINE, STRUCTURE:BODY, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
I purchased a certified preowned vehicle from Fowler Toyota in [XXX] , and after complaining multiple times about my engine being too loud, a musty smell in my trunk, the attempting to clean my trunk and me pointing out rust spots in the trunk and the smell returning multiple times, and a sulfur smell that continued to get worse month after month, they finally listened to me the 3rd week of November and discovered that this car that had a previous cosmetic accident to the rear of the car before being certified, indeed had a failing catalytic converter, a misaligned trunk as well as a busted strut among other issues. There was exhaust getting into my car, causing myself, headaches, my [XXX] and [XXX] to take a nap as soon as I would pick them up from school every day for the last month that I had it before they took it in November that all of this resolved after I was given a rental. I also periodically on a weekly basis, took my pregnant daughter to her doctors appointment so she was exposed as well. My husband occasionally rode with me also among other people. After 3 1/2 months of my car being “fixed”, it was returned to me and I was told it was in perfect condition and Toyota corporate had inspected it. Approximately 10 days after picking it up, I took a long drive out on a highway with traffic lights on my way back. I started to fall asleep. I feel like I had bricks on my eyelids and it was only 3:30 in the afternoon. I almost crashed into a wall on the side. I rolled my window down and instantly felt better. I purchased a carbon monoxide monitor and after three days it registered and went off at a level of 49. I tried to take it in after calling the dealer that day, but they did not have a car for me. They only had a 4Runner that I’m not comfortable driving so I had to wait another 36 hours on a car. The next day, the carbon monoxide detector went off and registered at 315 only in a parking lot. No lights on my car are showing anything is wrong. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION A

In multiple instances, the windshield has cracked and spread so quickly that the windshield requirement a replacement for it to be safe to drive. 2 times the cracks appeared with the no indication as to what may have caused them, and the other 2 times I could hear a rock chip, but could not see the rock. Any repair attempts to the windshield have resulted in failure and required a replacement instead. The cracks spread nearly instantly after the initial crack. I have replaced this 3 times so far, totaling around $2500 dollars in repairs. With the most recent crack, it has spread 6 inches within 20 minutes of the initial crack, and will likely require replacement for the car to be safe to drive. There must be some sort of issue with the glass build quality or structural integrity. I have had 4 cracked windshields in less than two years.

The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the carpeting on the driver's side foot well was coming unglued on the left side, close to the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to have the carpet reglued. The vehicle was repaired; however, the carpet started to detach again from the vehicle's foot well, and the contact took the vehicle back to the same dealer and was advised that it was a known issue, and there was a Technical Service Bulletin: SB-0101-24 for the repair. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

PANORAMIC SUNROOF Because I can not afford to inspect my sunroof, I have to resort to driving with a tilted panoramic defective sunroof that will not fully close. I fear for safety while driving, or parking anywhere when having to resort to shopping for groceries, weather hazards, highway hazards, and my own personal safety. I fear it could shatter from the sounds it makes at random times. It has presented to be such a fear and impacting my life with anxiety and fear. There have been no warnings lamps, messages prior or after the failure. This has not been inspected by dealer nor insurance because I can not afford for my premiums to have a higher cost. Dealer cost is too high. Please help!!

An explosion bursted out on my panoramic glass rooftop while I was driving at normal subdivisional speed at 25 - 30 mpg. The rooftop shattered spontaneously without impact. Took the vehicle to Toyota dealership where bought from. The advisor in service thought it is weird as the edges of the big hole on rooftop are convex. However they decided it shall hit by other objects Showed to insurance claim shop, the service man handles numerous similar claims said it is not like hit by flying objects. The shattered glass debris will cause an extreme distraction while driving and may cause other incidents.
