STEERING, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
22’ Camry LE. Was driving over a bridge that’s undergoing construction, as many areas around me are. There were few lines painted to distinguish lanes. Driving in the right lane when (I’m assuming) Lane Assist suddenly pulled me to the right. Thankfully I caught it before anything had happened, but if it hadn’t, I would’ve gone straight into a concrete barrier at the edge of a bridge on a busy street (and over one). The most unsafe part? This feature can’t be disabled permanently. It’s something that has to be disabled every time you start the car.

SEATS
The driver seat pops and shifts around unexpectedly when driving. It feels like I am going to loose control of the vehicle as I have to adjust my seating position while the car is in motion. And this movement is very distracting. Visited dealership twice already and dealer says this is common issue with new 2025/2026 Camry.

The driver’s seat backrest (lumbar support area) constantly pops and shifts (makes physical movement) while accelerating, braking, going over bumps, and when making body adjustments. I have already visited the Toyota dealership five times for this defect, but Toyota has been unable to fix the issue. The Toyota dealer first replaced the lumbar support, and subsequent attempts involved temporary measures such as installing foam and felt tape, but the defect still persists. A Toyota dealer technician mentioned that the “seat lumbar is shifting around on the metal support rail.” The popping and shifting sensation has gotten worse since last year. This is very distracting and has nearly caused an accident when felt during braking. As seen on many online forums, a lot of 2025 Camry owners (the first redesign year) are experiencing this issue, but Toyota is trying to sweep it under the rug by claiming this is a normal vehicle characteristic instead of releasing an updated or redesigned lumbar support. A driver’s seat that physically shifts and pops while driving is a safety issue.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The vehicle has an intermittent loss of power/hesitation during acceleration. The issue has occurred multiple times since the vehicle was purchased new and is still occurring at approximately 42,000 miles while under warranty. When accelerating from a stop or low speed, the vehicle sometimes has little to no power, feels like it stalls or fails to respond, and then suddenly kicks in and takes off. This creates a safety concern because the vehicle may not accelerate when entering traffic, crossing an intersection, turning, or merging, and then may surge unexpectedly. The issue occurred again on May 22, 2026, at approximately 3:00 PM while leaving a grocery store parking lot. The dash camera footage exists, but the hesitation is difficult to see clearly on video. There were no known warning lights or messages displayed at the time. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The issue has been reported to the dealership multiple times during service visits. The dealership has stated that the condition is part of the hybrid system/normal operation, but the concern has not been repaired or resolved. I believe this may involve the hybrid propulsion system, powertrain, throttle response, transmission/eCVT, inverter, or related software control system. The cause is currently unknown.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
On April 28 at 9:35AM I was exiting the parking lot in my 2025 Toyota Camry and I experienced a sudden and unintended surge of acceleration. My foot was not on the accelerator. I was coasting with foot off accelerator to exit parking lot at a speed of under 8mph when the car suddenly jerked forward and surged to 30mph. The car came to a sudden stop in the middle of the road after running stop sign and exiting the parking lot without driver input. I was jerked forward after driving very fast over a very large curb.

Vehicle started to leak gasoline from the tank filler cap while parked in garage with a full tank of gas. Created a highly flammable/explosive environment. Gas tank was not “topped off” when filled. This has been occurring for the last 2 months. No apparent damaged of defects noted with filler cap. There are no fuel/engine error codes. Vehicle operates normally.

My Toyota vehicle has a recurring HVAC/air conditioning odor problem that produces a strong vinegar-like or mildew smell from the air vents whenever warmer weather returns and the air conditioning system is used again. The odor is extremely unpleasant and affects the air quality inside the vehicle cabin. The condition repeatedly returns seasonally despite attempts to clean the system. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Toyota dealership for inspection and was told that this issue is “common with Toyotas.” The dealership did not provide a permanent repair and instead recommended spraying a cleaning product into the HVAC system. The cleaner did not resolve the issue, and the odor continues to return. The problem appears related to moisture retention, microbial growth, or contamination within the HVAC evaporator or drainage system. I am concerned about prolonged exposure to contaminated air inside the passenger compartment, especially during regular use of the air conditioning system. Toyota should investigate this recurring HVAC odor condition and determine whether a design or manufacturing defect exists involving the evaporator, condensate drainage, or ventilation system. Owners should not be expected to repeatedly mask the odor with temporary spray products when the underlying issue remains unresolved.

The contact stated that the vehicle was uncontrolable. The contact's vehicle crashed into a highway devider and a concrete wall. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The vehicle was condemned a total loss. The contact was tranported to the local medical center. The contact sustained injuries to the top of back, the mid section of the bak and the lower section of the back. In addition, the contact had continued therapy for over a year. BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
Upon shifting into reverse, the rearview camera system failed to provide a usable image, displaying only a solid white screen. This total loss of visibility occurred without warning and is a direct non-compliance with FMVSS 111. This failure mode is consistent with the Parking Assist ECU software errors currently being investigated and recalled under NHTSA 25V-744 for 2025 Toyota vehicles. We bought our 2023 Camry brand new off the lot and had no idea until the first rainstorm we were in that there was an issue with the wiper motor. Anytime there is moderate to hard rainfall and we turn the wipers on high they run at a low speed causing poor to no visibility. We have to pull over every time wait out the rain. We’ve mentioned our concern many times to the dealership where we have our Toyotas serviced and they just tell us they don’t see a recall for this problem. This is incredibly dangerous and hazardous and it needs to be fixed - we just don’t know how to go about it at this point.

SEATS
The driver seat cushion shield failed, the internal plastic brackets and clips broke from normal everyday use. The power seat switches are mounted to the driver seat cushion shield. Since there was no support for the cushion shield, the knobs on the switches that control the power seat would "pop off" and fall under the seat making it impossible for some drivers (especially older and/or overweight drivers) to be able to move the seat back in order to escape the vehicle in an emergency thus trapping the driver. This actually happened to me although it didn't happen during an emergency. The power seat knobs had "popped off" while I was driving and when I stopped and tried to get out, I couldn't move the seat back because there were no knobs and I was trapped for a while. I eventually wiggled myself free but if it was an emergency situation like a collision, I would have been trapped. The knobs popped off several times and I would just snap them back on but it was the flexing of the broken seat cushion shield that would push on the knobs from the inside and make them "pop off". I took my car to the dealer for warranty repair, they refused to warranty the repair because "EXTERNAL FORCE" caused the failure. When I asked what "EXTERNAL FORCE" causes the failure, the service advisor stated that JUST BY SITTING IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT CAUSES THE DRIVER SEAT CUSHION FAILURE. There is definitely a structural deficiency in their design if the failure is due to everyday normal use. Toyota has had TSB's on Tacoma and Tundra vehicles for their driver seat cushion shields cracking and they've upgraded parts to handle this problem. The problem on the Camry is potentially much more dangerous because the driver can become trapped because the power seat control knobs can pop off while driving.

LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:ELECTRONIC LOCK/LATCH ACTUATOR
Driver door actuator is failing. If you search this, it is a well known problem with the year and model of Toyota. It poses significant safety hazards to occupants and security of the vehicle. Yet Toyota has not addressed or corrected the issue. I am not sure if this is electrical or the actuator itself, as the passenger door was doing the same thing, but now appears operational. Driver side still not working properly. With press of button on door handle all doors will lock, with exception of driver side. Sometimes if you lock it manually, you can turn it get back in the car at all, without going to the passenger side and going through that side. While I do understand my car is a 2022, it does not make sense it would occur on both driver and passenger side, the problem appears to be widely known, but Toyota refuses to take in the safety in potential emergency situation of their customers.

Pulling into driveway and Stepped on brakes at less than 5 mph and whole car started shaking out of nowhere (similar feeling to when you land on the runway in a plane). Steered sharply to not hit other vehicle and hit a tree. Car was inspected less than 3 days ago.

We ordered this car custom what we wanted 2021 Toyota Camry xse awd. The car is great wife and I love driving it. But at 68,857 miles as of today 4/29/26 it’s on its second set of tires with regular maintenance and rotations on tires it’s eating them up on the inside. We have had 4 alignment checked by Toyota and les Schwab and everything time it comes out perfect. Two sets of tires within 30,000 give or take is a very bad problem as both times the inside of been to the cords. The last set was only 26,000 miles and half the tire was separated tread to tire. First set every tire was down to cords on the inside.

STRUCTURE:BODY:BUMPERS
1.The driver-side bumper/bumper cover and/or bumper attachment clips, brackets, or mounting points failed or malfunctioned. The bumper was protruding on the driver’s side and was not staying properly secured to the vehicle. Repairs have already been completed by an independent auto body shop. I have repair documentation, photos, and/or invoices available to support the complaint. 2.My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because the bumper was protruding and not properly secured on the driver’s side. I was concerned that the bumper could become further detached while driving, especially at highway speeds, creating a road hazard for other drivers or pedestrians. The protruding bumper could also affect the vehicle’s exterior safety structure, cause distraction while driving, or worsen if the vehicle hit a bump, pothole, or experienced normal road vibration. 3.Yes. The problem was confirmed by an independent auto body shop. They inspected the bumper issue and repaired it. I was also advised by the shop that they have seen similar issues with Toyota bumpers and that this appears to be a common problem. The repair cost was approximately $1,000 out of pocket. 4. The vehicle/component was inspected by an independent auto body shop. To my knowledge, it has not yet been inspected by Toyota, police, or insurance representatives. I am filing this complaint so the issue can be documented and reviewed as a possible safety or manufacturing-related concern. 5.There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages related to this issue. The main symptom was visible: the bumper began protruding on the driver’s side and was not staying properly attached. I first noticed the issue on or around June 10, 2025. The condition appeared to worsen or remain unresolved until I had it repaired by an independent auto body shop. I am filing this complaint regarding a bumper issue on my Toyota vehicle. The driver-side bumper/bumper cover began protruding and was not staying properly
